“On the Disney Cruise...FINAL THOUGHTS 02/13

ahh the MGM or that room at the tropicana that's where I wish I had stayed...LOL It is amazing what you can get for a room price out there. I think my flight (last min), hotel for 2 nights and a car cost $500. They love to get you out there.

Yes, then they hope you will drop the savings in their slot machines - they don't build those huge hotels and casinos on people winning!;)

Wooow, the newly refurbished Tropicana looks gorgeous! For only $36 a night too!

Can't wait to hear more!

those updated rooms look fabulous!

It was very nice for the cost. I booked it on AAA, BTW. The website was offering $69 and my friend got it in a airline package for $50. Gotta love AAA.

OHH the Tropicana looks awesome and a great price, Good to know cuz weve been wanting to head over to Vegas and that would be a great price.. Good enough to sleep shower and shi....do your business LOL

Yup. The pool is under construction right now, but it was a little chilly outside anyway. Good time to take advantage of the rates, because I think when all the remodeling is done and it gets more popular, the rates will go up.

We woke up around 7am Tuesday morning, ready to rock! (Well at least roll)
I got a text the night before from Teresa, who said that Hooters had $2.99 breakfast in the Mad Onion steak place, so Karen, Rhonda and I walked next door to Hooters of all places. :lmao: Teresa, her DH James and Maggie decided to drink a protein shake and took a cab over to the Pawn Stores place. They met one of the stars from that show and got a few souvies.

We got to the restaurant and ordered coffee and juice before finding out that the $2.99 special was from midnight to 6am :rotfl2: Karen and I split a 3 egg omelet with toast and potatoes - just enough for two!:thumbsup2 I think Rhonda ate the same.

Karen and I checked out and rolled our bags across the street for our free stay at MGM Grand! I didn't take pics, cuz I've stayed here alot - should have been thinking of my disbuds:goodvibes Okay, really not in marketing for MGM, but here is their room link: http://www.mgmgrand.com/hotel/grand-tower-rooms.aspx

We had just enough time to freshen up and head to our first training. After our training, Karen and Rhonda headed out to the M&M store, and I went to the company cafe we had set up to get a Turkey wrap, then back for more training. Having gotten a late lunch, I opted to skip dinner, thinking I would grab something after.

It was almost time to meet up in the Grand Garden Arena and kick off our new product launch! We met up with our "mad scientist" Dr. Peter Matravers, who had the secret formulas locked in his briefcase:

Really, a combo- lock briefcase! Jenny, me, Maggie, Dr. Peter, Suzanne

Here are some excited consultants:

After an exciting kick-off of nutrition and weight loss, it was 10pm and we had a date in Jenny's room with a bottle of wine:thumbsup2

Karen and I went to our room first to retrieve the wine and opener, and I decided to change into my jammy bottoms and long-sleeved T-shirt with flip flops. By Karen's reaction, you would have thought I was going out naked!:scared1: :rotfl2:

"You aren't really going out like that!??!"
"Yes, we always do this - slumber party! You should get comfy, too!"
"NO! Tammie, not your pajamas!" "People will see you!"
"What, I'm dressed!"
"But your pajamas?"
"It's okay, it's Vegas, Baby!"

All this concern from a lady who spent the entire afternoon touring Vegas the day before in a black velor track suit with highwater pants, black shoes and white socks:thumbsup2

Maggie and Rhonda asked once, and then shrugged. :goodvibes

Now I have to tell you the reason for her concern was that at MGM the tower room elevators are all located around a hub, so certain elevators go to only certain floors. In our case, we were on the 18th floor, and Jenny was on the 25th. So we had to take the elevator down and across the hub, which is in an enclosed fountain room, and in to another elevator entry.

I grabbed my stuffed MGM Lion that Jenny had given me, and my bottle of wine. Karen reluctantly followed. Of course I jumped in to an elevator that was going up instead of down - as Karen called me back, two middle-aged guys in the back said, "What? you're leaving??"
:rotfl2: So she felt vindicated. ;)

So in the next elevator on the way up, a man asked one of the other attendees who we were with and where we were from. Everyone started piping up. I of course had to say, "they don't want me to tell you where we're from." He looked down at my flip flops and said, "California!" :rotfl2:

We had a nice time- Jenny poured lemon drop martinis for all of us, and then we opened the wine and ate some snacks. As most middle-aged slumber parties do, when the wine ran out it was time to head out. I grabbed my lion friend and we got back to our room at 1 a.m. We needed to be up at 6 in order to get breakfast and get our seats for our 9am conference!

Wow, your friend, Karen, sounds like an ANIMAL!! :rotfl::rotfl: Hope they do come out with more 15 this spring- I ran out in STJ and had to use some other sunscreen, broke out HORRIBLY on my chin and chest- YUCK!!

I hope so, too Ellen. Let's all send an email. I don't know what I will use.

Maybe I should have had fried pickles for breakfast!:goodvibes It was Mad Onion inside the Hooters casino that had breakfast - I'm not sure about the rest of the place.

That is priceless Tammie, priceless!

I had an interesting time, for sure. You never can be sure who will want to start a business, and I always want to help them....

:scared1:
Yeah, there are a huge number of things I would never do!!!

Like roaming around in a Vegas hotel in your Jammies!!! Pajamas and flip flops........sounds like we now have a brand new Tammie Greeting!!! :rolleyes1

And roaming around tempting guys in elevators.......... :sad2:

I really didn't mean to,

thats awesome you met one of the guys from that show i watch it all the time.
the knowledge they have on stuff is amazing.

and good thing i wasnt there wearing my PJ's :rolleyes1:laughing:

Wednesday was another day of training, then off to Bev's suite for Hors d'ourves and wine and team building.

Jenny's son is a chef and he's been something featured on food network, so he made a reservation at a place he thought we'd enjoy - he knows the owner or the chef, not sure which. They have a free limo service, so we were picked up right on time at 7:30 by our driver Dan. Here is a link to the place - if you are in Vegas, I would highly recommend it!:thumbsup2 Casa Di Amore! http://www.casadiamore.com/

We arrived and Jenny had added an 8th person to our table for 7, which just wouldn't work. We had to wait for a table for over an hour, but we were having fun and really didn't care. (except for a bathroom incident which I'll get back to. This was a retro place that was just so cool! :cool1:

Brick walls, black leather booths, and a lounge singer with a keyboard who looked like a young Don Ho and sang lots of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and did a mean Billy Joel!:thumbsup It was just like a neighborhood pub, only Italian - not sure what you would call that - someone from the East Coast help me out? I think the owner said his family had a place like that in New York, and he re-created it in Vegas.

The owner and manager and waiters kept coming by and apologizing for the wait. They brought us a free drink, and meatball samples. One of the waiters took our picture - he was having a hard time with my camera, so it's a little fuzzy.
IMGP2438.jpg

We started singing along with the entertainer, and before we knew it, we actually were escorted to a large corner booth with a chair at the end of it. The owner came by and said it was his personal table, but he would let us have the honor of sitting there, right next to the bathroom! ;) He actually offered to move us, but we said we'd be fine right there. 2 of our group got grumpy about the time and left, but it was more fun without their negative butts anyway!:lmao:

So the Bathroom Incident: Shortly after arriving, I went through the restroom entry, to find the ladie's room closed for rennovations and taped off with yellow tape and an apology. There was a hand written sign on the men's room door that said, "This is a co-ed bathroom now, please knock before entering." Hmmm, No lock on the door - it didn't even close all the way. Think I'll wait. After about 20 more minutes, I decided that this was an emergency, so I asked Michael the young man who was with us, to stand guard. He made sure the men's room was empty, and said he wouldn't let anyone in.
There was a wooden stall inside with no lock (really going for the retro, I guess) - just a hole where the latch should be. So I'm in the middle of my reason for being in there, with lots of kitchen noise coming through the walls, and suddenly I hear a man's voice, " I knocked, I knocked!" Umm, I don't think I heard that from in here:confused3 Yup. someone was using the urinal just outside the stall. I just hid silently in there until he washed his hands and left - then I hurried out and washed my hands (I don't want you to think I forgot ;)) Michael is OUTSIDE the outer entry door, texting someone! He looked up and said, "I don't know how that guy got past me!" I don't know who I shared the bathroom with, so I guess it's all good.:thumbsup2

We had a really good dinner and a really nice bottle of wine a few of us shared. I had the Linguini with Clams, and it was TDF!!! I am hoping this will be an annual event for us!

There was one other large table of Arbonne ladies on our side of the room, and we had all been given flashing buttons for our lanyards to wear the first night - we all pulled those out and started waving them in the air like lighters during the singing. The entertainer got a kick out of us - made him laugh and forget the words. "What IS that??" :lmao:

At midnight, we were almost the only ones left in there and I asked if Karen could sing - I had noticed she really has a voice, and knows all the words - so they let her come up and she sang, Patsy Cline's "Crazy" - did an awesome job! Sorry about the pic- I am going to say my camera was acting up - it wasn't the wine I had :rolleyes1

Since Karen had never been to Vegas before, Dan drove us all the way down the strip, giving us the nickel tour as we went, and then back up to our hotel. He was very patient with us giggling girls and very nice.

We made it to the room at 1am, only to set our alarms for 6:30 a.m. so we could be up and at it again!

NEXT: HELLO KEVIN COSTNER!

I apologize for getting so far behind on your TR, Tammie! I'm using my SNOW DAY today for playing catch-up!!!

I've got to say that your cruise pics are getting me so excited for my upcoming cruise....you got some nice beach pics and I just love the sunset pictures! :goodvibes

Wow...the QUEST sounds like it was a bit crazy on your cruise!!! Chris and I went a few years back and it was a ton of fun, but not quite so racy! Seems that things have changed a bit...

LOVE hearing about your Vegas trip...it's such a fun place to visit!!!

What a great update Tammie! You are such an Uptown Girl and I Love You Just the Way You Are! Great that you got to enjoy some entertainment from what sounds like a talented Piano Man!

The restroom story is too funny, and letting a text happy young man guard the door for you is really A Matter of Trust I guess! But the guy DID knock, so I guess he was An Innocent Man and good that afterwards he still remained The Stranger!

I guess with all the special treatment getting the private table you felt like a Big Shot. You May Be Right that it was better not to have a couple of negative nellies spoiling your fun.

Glad you had such a good time because Only The Good Die Young but always remember that Honesty is always the best policy, so I'm not buying that camera acting up story when you tried to get the picture of the Patsy Cline wannabe! From now on, Get It Right The First Time!!!

:)

(So can you tell I might have gotten into the Billy Joel portion of the show???)

I would be soooo po'd at that kid for not watching the door!! Next time, bring a girlfriend you can count on!! OMG!! :rotfl: You are a good sport!

So cool they sent a limo!! I would call that restaurant a Trattoria, or an Osteria, but Italian Pub is probably ok, too! :goodvibes

Actually, I blamed myself - I really should have expected it from him - a little socially backwards but he prides himself on being our body guard:goodvibes
