Quiet Hotel Closest to Main Gate

Candy Cane Inn has an hourly shuttle. I found it peaceful through Easter break in a deluxe room towards the back. My mother has knee issues so really appreciated the shuttle. Although the beds are quite high.

    Is Disney embarrassed of DCA?

Agree 100%. I bought zero tshirts on my last trip to DL, but got 3 at Knotts. Much nicer, much less expensive. Luckily I still have a really nice DCA one from a previous trip!

    Quick Universal question!

There is a Southern California board but since they took away the link to this board noone uses it. There was still virtual queue in April when I was there and yes, download the app for your visit. I honestly can't remember about stairs sorry!

Rise of the Resistance rope drop (and other silly questions).

You go through Frontierland past the left hand side of Big Thunder then into Batuu and turn left

Candy Cane Inn Deluxe Room with a Rollaway?

Yep you have to crawl over it, it's very tight space wise. It can be stood up vertical during the day.

Rise of the Resistance rope drop (and other silly questions).

Yep. We used this technique after going to Rise and just waiting there for ages one day and it never opening despite waiting an hour. The next time, we just asked at BTMRR and they checked for us. It was closed, so we went on Big Thunder instead.

Rise of the Resistance rope drop (and other silly questions).

Go through Frontierland and ask a cast member at the exit of Big Thunder if Rise is open. If not, head for something else!

Whats changed in last 2 years?

No Genie can't help you with ROTR, it's a separate LL payment just for that ride! You can purchase G+ on the day, but it can sell out, so I'd add it if you can figure out how.

Worth getting into DCA past 3pm?

I think most tables would get a view, we were facing the Mickey Wheel and Incredicoaster, but still could see all the projections easily, we thought it was well worth it not having to stand, and cheaper than dessert party. Plus I don't want dessert, but a meal was needed!

Whats changed in last 2 years?

There's no virtual queue except for World of Color (midday reservations drop I believe). Utilise single rider wherever possible, without LL you will be waiting in long queues.

Best way to get to/from LA from Anaheim

Another Kiwi here. We always split stay between Anaheim and LA. Transportation costs are huge between places. However, we found a great taxi driver who likes Kiwis and took us everywhere we wanted to go in the Anaheim/Buena Park area. He'd pick us up late at night from wherever we were too. If...

First time visit in Jan. Hotel advise please.

HoJo has lovely views of the park from their premium rooms, which are large and have great beds. But it isn't a quiet hotel due to traffic noise. Candy Cane Inn has free parking. We had no noise issues there this April. There are views of the fireworks from the South side. Rooms are a lot...

Price of a connecting room at Candy Cane Inn....

Maybe 250 per room per night? We didn't ask for connecting rooms, just booked 3 and they were all in a row, two connecting.

    Candy Cane Inn room categories

No I think you'd need to have rooms of the same type. Send an email requesting where you want to be, e.g upstairs on the south side near the outdoor tables. Those are handy for eating at.

Price of a connecting room at Candy Cane Inn....

    Candy Cane Inn room categories

Standard rooms at the front, deluxe middle, premium back I believe. We go for deluxe on the south side so you can see the fireworks. Premium rooms are bigger. The breakfast area is lovely, eating in your room with 4 of you might be a wee bit crowded.

    Best offsite hotel?

Candy Cane Inn. Recently refurbished, connecting rooms (although they are on the small size), free parking, free breakfast, lovely environs, easy walking distance but also has free hourly shuttle.
