If she bought the 8-day PH from a 3rd party she may be able to return it for refund (minus a fee). She'll need to check the terms of the reseller, not all do refunds.

If she bought direct from Disney she should be able to upgrade the 8-day PH ticket to an AP.
Would that be able to be done over the phone or will it have to be done in person at guest services?

In the past people have been able to upgrade by phone or through MDE. I can't say whether WDW will allow either or both options to upgrade for the expected AP release.

I am a DVC member and bought three 5 day passes for our trip next week.

Any suggestion whether the process to upgrade would go better 1. calling Disney, 2. calling DVC, or 3. going to a ticket window on our arrival day because we aren't going to the MK until the next day. I am traveling with an autistic adult and my husband who had a stroke, so easier is better. Thanks for any advice!

Question: We have a trip planned for the end of May and my friend bought an 8 day park hopper because AP's were not available. Is it possible for her to return the 8 day parkhopper and buy an AP instead? Thanks for your response.
Just a heads up that unless you friend is a FL resident, you will want to run your numbers.

We have 8 day PH+ tickets and before taxes they are $792.66. An AP for non-FL residents is $1,399 plus tax. Unless your guest is planning more trips to Disney within the year of their ticket, it may not be cost effective to upgrade.

Thanks Very Much!

"Easiest" for you may be to try to upgrade by phone or online. However I expect the DVC phone lines are likely to be jammed on the 13th, and I'm not sure that you can upgrade to Sorcerer online.

Depending on when is your trip, in-person may be a viable option if not too challenging with your travel companions. But there is no guarantee how long APs will remain on sale, so I hesitate to suggest waiting until you are onsite.

Can the 8-day PH, or any ticket from a 3rd party, be upgraded to an AP prior to its use? I have in the past just upgraded these to AP's at guest services during my stay, but these tickets are for May and I am concerned they stop selling them prior to the trip. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't think anyone can say for sure until sales begin. I hear your concern about whether sales could end before May trips.

If you start using a date-based ticket on April 19, can you then go to GS at the parks and upgrade to an AP on April 20?

In the past that was allowed. I'd like to assume it will still be allowed...but we'll have to wait and see.

Does anyone know if there has been luck upgrading military salute tickets by phone if they are already linked to MDE? We bought salute tickets to take a spring trip with the in-laws, but 4 of us are going back for a 10+day trip over Christmas break, and would come close to breaking even if we could upgrade to the incredipass when they open up sales. However, we aren’t going to physically be at Disney until late May, and I hate to gamble on those still being available to purchase if we try to upgrade in person.

Can you upgrade old, unexpired tickets to an annual pass?
Are these tickets in your MDE already? How old? And fully-unused? They may be more valuable to use as-is. You would not get credit for today's regular ticket prices, and tickets older than maybe 2016 are capped at those prices.

For example: a 5-day ticket bought in 2014 cost about $290. The credit you would get towards an upgrade is about $315. However it can be used TODAY when a 5-day ticket costs nearly $630. So it's much more valuable to use as-is than to use it towards an AP upgrade.

I would like to use Disney gift cards to renew our annual passes because I can get them with the 5% discount from Target. I'm not able to renew an AP using only gift cards, since the window only allows one gift card and then a second form of payment, i.e. credit card. Can an annual pass be renewed by calling Disney so that I can use gifts cards for the entire purchase?

We are staying at the GF in mid August, family of 5 disney adults. My husband will spend his days at the pool and in the gym and I am going to buy him only a 1-2 day tickets. My son and daughter want a 6 day ticket and my other son and I are going to get a 4 day ticket. I purchased room only for the GF. What is the best way to buy and attach our tickets to our resort reservation? We do have AAA, should I go there and have them attach the tickets to my reservation?

Apologies if these questions have been answered before.

Looking at the Sorcerer pass as DVC members. From the description, we can hop with it. Can we go to the water parks?

Does the 366 days start from the date of purchase or date of first use?

Not sure how much you're spending, but remember that you can combine the gift cards on disneygiftcard.com, but the maximum is $1000 per card.

I've had luck calling them before with separate cards; I'd definitely try to do that. Calling will give you more options.
