I didn't see a September thread yet, so I figured I'd start one up. I almost feel silly because were are only going to be there for 4 days, but this past Tuesday was our 60 day mark and FastPasses are booked.
This almost feels like a cheating trip. We are flying in, taking DME to the Fort and meeting up with our friends in their MH. It is their first trip to the Fort and they are meeting their son, d-i-l and DGC (DGD- 8, DGS- 5) who will be in a cabin.
We fly in on Saturday, September 7th and fly home on Tuesday September 10th evening. We bought 3 day hopper tickets and, for the first time, MNSSHP tickets for Sunday night. I couldn't justify 4 day tickets, but I would love to have the option to go to a park any time I wanted.
Here are our plans as of now:
Saturday- Arrive to the Fort 5-6pm, find our friends MH and head to MK to see HEA. Watching the fireworks in front of the castle is a long standing family tradition and due to the Halloween party at MK on Sunday, really limits our options to see HEA without spending the whole trip at MK.
Sunday- I had originally planned on going to EPCOT, but DW said she would rather do AK and try to ride Slinky Dog Dash since it broke down about 30 ft before we could get on last Fall. That means I'm going to attempt the StarWars madness at HS... a week after it opens. We also have MNSSHP tickets this night so I decided AK would be a good place to start the day. AK has EMH this morning. I don't think I'll attempt rope drop (7am). I tried getting a FP for FoP, but the only ones left were evening times when I'll be at the Halloween party. We have EE FPs in the morning. I think EE is one of the best roller coasters on the property. I like just wandering around AK. I love the atmosphere there. I'll try stalking MDE for a FoP FP earlier in the day. Sometime after 4, we'll head over to MK for the party. I'm excited to see the Halloween fireworks show. I watched it the last 2 years from the Contemporary roof, but never in the park with the proper perspective.
Monday- I'll probably regret this, but we have an ADR at O'Hanna at 0740. The kids (and Ian) will love breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Minnie and Mickey. I tried changing it to later since we'll probably be at the Halloween party pretty late, but no options for a party of 9. After breakfast, we'll probably head back to the Fort for a while. We have SDD FPs at 8:15pm. I'll keep an eye on MDE to see how crazy the crowds are at HS before I decide if/when to head over. I may go to EPCOT during the day and take the boat over to HS later in the day.
Tuesday- This will be a DS and hang at the Fort day. We will have used our 3 day tickets in the parks already and seen what we wanted this trip. Our friends want to do TE for a meal. If we don't do dinner on our arrival day, before heading to MK, this morning for breakfast will be our only other chance. I don't have an ADR yet, but I'll probably try getting one. Our flight home is at 5:40pm, so I'm guessing DME will pick us up around 2 or so.
This will be a quick, busy trip, but SO worth it. I cashed in Disney Visa points for the airfare, MNSSHP tickets and the park tickets, so it is essentially a "free" trip.
