Happened to me and my SO. I now have a baggie full of giftcards with $1.41 or $1.01 on them that I need to liquidate. I was thinking of making another account or pissing off a cashier at target lol
I use leftover visa or MC at Disney during food and wine. Just slide them through until you've paid for your food at the kiosks.

@Judique There is an Australia post on the blog. ❤

I love it! She's in a brand new country at the other end of the world and her writing is not just 'oh it's so beautiful here!' not that there's anything wrong with that, but your girl has opinions.

I was doing so well with Prime day until just now. I placed my order for my wireless charger with some household cleaning items to hit $60 Amex offer. As I was browsing, I noticed some other great deals on other cleaning supplies. Placed 3 more orders 😂 At least I have spent less than $100 between all the orders.

I feel like I did ok.....did the itunes gift card that was 20% off. 2 kids books with the book promo and finally a bunch of 4K Blu-Rays (Gladiator, MI Complete Set, Dark Knight Trilogy), and with the AMEX offer came to less than $8 per movie.

I know with the clawbacks some people aren't feeling the love with Amex, but I remain a fangirl.

This am, both DD and DH's cars were broken into (not very dramatic-DH always leaves his unlocked and I thought I locked DD's but I was wrong) and her "car wallet" was stolen and her rose gold Amex was used. The helpful csr and fraud person were able to tell me what time and Amex's system showed where, so although my idiocy made Mr Young Cute Police Officer work, at least I had some data for him.

Her card was immediately discontinued, the charges will be reversed and a shiny new pink card is on its way. So valuable lesson learned (make sure the car is locked) and I am still impressed with Amex's efficiency. They were so fast with the changes that I was happy I had DD's old last 5 numbers memorized from this am to give to the officer b/c the old numbers are already erased from online presence.

TL;DR lock your doors (duh, btw).

I usually take mine to the grocery store where they will auto drain. Self checkout is open until store closing (typically) at midnight. I don't need anything else in my pockets at Disney as my pockets turn into everyone else's. I should get suspenders for the parks.

Just did the $300 TD Bank bonus offer - its not super great, but DH needs a new business banking account, and needs a personal checking account with actual local branches. TD bank will let him keep the business account fee-free with only $1500 in the personal checking account (don't anticipate much $$$ sitting in the business account for a while), so the TD version seemed like the best option for long-term cheap business checking without foregoing too much interest- the bonus is just a, well, bonus!

Said you could fund with a credit card - figured what the heck and used the IHG card we are trying to meet MSR on (CIP is being expedited, but isn't here yet). I see the transaction as pending on the Chase account, but the amount is $0. :confused3 DPs said sometimes credit card funding failed. We will see - getting closer on the IHG spend would have just been a cherry on the sundae.

Does anyone here k ow people that live in del mar, ca near san diego? Old roomates dog got out and I'm trying to share thr info. He's chipped with a tagged collar and a sweetie.

I do love the Amex system and what can be done with it online. It's nice that only the last 4 digits will change so if you have them memorized, it is slightly easier (still new code on front). I have an emergency card in all our cars incase of an emergency. I get an alert on spend over a $1 so I know it was used as it's not one I closely monitor.

I leave my door open all the time at my house and once I left my big bag plus my purse in there. Nothing stolen, but years ago I used to have a habit of leaving change and bills from fast food stops lying in the console - maybe $5 - $10. I noticed it started to disappear and started being more careful for a while.

That's so smart! I actually knew what was in DD's car because I used it yesterday and cleaned out her wallet. I'm going to go add alerts to my car cards right now.

Oh, and my four "ferocious" dogs slept through it all...apparently working nights isn't in their contract:rolleyes2

I've decided I'm going to do this too, and I think Sam's is best.

They're eVGCs, so they can't be used in store; only online.

What I don't like about these small fixed denomination cards is you have to under pay and be left with a small balance, or if you buy something more expensive than the balance then most shopping carts won't let you use an additional credit card; you'll have to split payment with a gift card.

Sam's allows you to split payment on several (3?) credit cards, so you can use up the $200 and $100 pretty easily in one transaction with 2x $150 DGC packs (2x$144.98=$289.96), and I'm thinking just load the remaining balance $10.04 balance to Amazon or something. Or, you could spend the combined $300 towards a $500 DGC (priced at $484.98), but you'd need to cover the additional $184.98. You could buy a $200 Walmart eGC from Gyft (3x UR with CIP through PayPal checkout, 5x UR on CIC through PayPal checkout), but the lower 3x or 5x return will lower your overall % discount, unless you happen to be working on an MSR for these cards; and then you'll still be left with a $15.02 Walmart/Sam's credit.

Thanks, I ordered the $300VGC + $15 AMC Card ($330.96). I receive the email from Amex confirming that I had used the offer just waiting on Newegg to send over the e-cards. I'm going to order 3 - $50 DGC & 2 - $75 for a total of $287.90. I'll add the rest to my Amazon account, I need to buy some mister fans anyways.

I already have at least a dozen mugs. And a good number of tumblers. I had more but the kids take them and I never see them again, and I mostly don't care. There's a few that are hands off.

I’ve had to seriously curb my Disney souvenir cups, Disney and tiki mugs, and Starbucks You Are Here mugs addiction. I now have way too many that are not being used and I’m out of space!

So fancy! I auto-drain my VGCs that have balances too small for even Amazon reloads at the Costco food court [self-serve kiosks] towards a $1.50 hot dog and soda.

Meanwhile I have the yippy yappy Yorkie from he** here that goes off at any noise, except the deer that came in and ate my romaine a couple of days ago. Ate all the romaine, did not touch the basil that was growing up against it. It's just one of those above ground planters with about a 2 x 3 growing area, but I enjoy planting in it.

BJs used to have food places in the stores but when I moved to RI, I have yet to find one that does. Maybe they just don't have them here but it would be nice for something quick.

Was this a 2nd Great Southern account for the same person? One checking, one savings? Or just P1 and P2?
Yes, same person. I knew you have to talk to them on the phone, so dh wasn't going to mess with that. So I opened a 2nd account (checking) for me, using my employee card from his CIP. It's pending on his account and my account is open at GSB.

@wendow I'm really sorry to read about your MIL. I actually read a book a few weeks ago written by a woman whose husband had something similar happen -- went in for a back injection and things went very wrong. He did end up recovering somewhat but not completely (I don't think that's a spoiler if anyone wants to read it -- it's primarily about how her relationship with her husband was affected; it called "Together" by Judy Goldman).

Replying to my own post to tag @wendow

I hope your MIL is improving.
