Favorite Burger

I think that my favorite burger than I had in a restaurant was at D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs. My other favorites have all been at local places. We have been to Five Guys and Red Robin on the road. They are ok. I wasn't super impressed with In 'n Out the one time I was there, but I thought it was ok. I think it was a matter of too high expectations based on what everyone said. I liked Culvers well enough, but I'd skip the burger for extra custard if I really had my way ;)

Sorrry but i ccant even imagine eating a triple burger. The five guys single is about 830 calories and when i see the 830 calories on the menu board my knees shake and so i cut it in half and only allow myself to eat the second half the next day. If I did that with a triple i would have to fast for three days before i finished the burger. :)
Triple burger just means 3 patties. If the patties are each half the size of a tiny McDonald's Quarter pounder, then it's not a very big burger. The double at Steak n Shake isn't a very big burger.

My vote goes for Five Guys. Just there yesterday. It's a good burger and what I base comparisons on. Red Robin was a good burger, but not as good as Five Guys and the endless fries are worthless when you're talking garbage frozen fries. Five Guys is fresh fries cooked properly in peanut oil and you get a ton of them (more than I can eat but they reheat excellent in the toaster oven at home). They are 2nd only to Trasher's French Fries on the Ocean City boardwalk.

Fresh beef and never frozen are very important aspects of a restaurant burger. The premade frozen patties you get at most places shouldn't even be talked about. Not many do fresh never frozen patties.

The price used to be displayed where the white box is that the Chef is "holding." You can still see the cent symbol to the right. I think it was 15c, then when prices needed to rise they covered up the 15 with the white box with the red diamond.

I don't remember anything special about their hamburgers, but their shakes were pretty good.

I just remember it because my parents took us there and it brings back a lot of good memories of my younger years. I honestly don't remember much about their hamburgers either, but I know the ole Burger Chef was a part of some good times in my childhood. I guess I just say it's my favorite because of that alone.

Hanging out with my High School buds at the Chef one day and an elderly woman was found dead in a booth. Thereon we called it Burger Death.

When I lived in Indianapolis in the late '60's I would drive by Burger Chef's home office on 16th. Street. I didn't realize that they had locations in several states.

Culvers is Wisconsin based ~ one thing we know how to do well is fry fish. :p
I made it to Culver’s north of Houston (out in the boonies by Houston standards). It was very good and I used up my calories for two days at least. I couldn’t stop with just one and so ordered a second butter burger and a second fries. I also ate a custard of the day that today was lemon crumble. I am very full but ordered a fish sandwich and a pork tenderloin sandwich for carry out.

Sorry that my daughters aren’t with me since with good hamburgers and fries and custard it would be a Michelin 3 star restaurant in their opinion.

Thanks to all who recommended Culvers.

If you like tenderlion sandwiches, you should come to Indiana. There are so many great ones to choose from.

Western Bacon at Carl's Jr. has to be my all time favorite burger. Unfortunately the Carls that was near my house got more and more expensive before they closed down.

Like most here Five Guys is my top spot. Red Robin is great from a chain perspective (I think I've tried all of their various burgers) and I do like In 'N Out but mostly because of the sauce and because I live on the East Coast where we won't ever have an In 'N Out burger unless they figure out how to get the fresh meat here quickly and at a lower cost. Shake Shack also has a great burger and Zinburger has quality options for those who want more than a standard burger. I see mixed reviews on D-Lux burger too, but I thought it was pretty good.

In N Out would be my 1st choice if choosing burgers for lunch or dinner. If we are near one, we ALWAYS stop at Original Tommy's for a chili cheese burger and chili cheese fries. Soo good if you like chili burgers....I crave them but the closest one is about an hour maybe more away. :guilty:

At Red Robin, I like their new Southern Charm burger. Cheeseburger with bbq sauce and carmelized onions with their garlic fries. I just told my hubby I'm going to be sad when they take it off the menu. And a local restaurant has another of my favorites...also with bbq sauce but this one has bacon.
