Magic Bands Upgrade

I ordered the It's A Small World LE. At 3am. Happy to have finally had success so that I can move on from this. Just not sure if that's actually the band that I wanted. I was so surprised to see the LE bands AND even more shocked when I was able to reach the checkout, that I felt compelled to proceed. In the grand scheme of things, I don't really care - it's just a band. The only reason I'm really having second thoughts is that I went with my daughter's second choice in order to place the order, so feeling a little bit of mom guilt. They also had the DVC band, but it's so plain.
 
For the first time in many, many attempts I was able to get to the payment page. Then I got the same error message as normal. I called in and at first got the standard response that the ones I selected must have been sold out....she checked though and was surprised to find that they were in fact in stock. So now they have a ticket in to IT to get back to me within a couple of days. I was happy to see the LE options available and was trying to get the Small World and a couple DVC bands. Not holding my breath here on IT doing anything.
 
I just got off the phone with Disney customer service, asking (again) what the heck the problem is. He said as soon as they restock, they sell out on lots of the more popular bands, which seems like is all of them I think. He also said that because they opened up the window for ordering the bands from 30 days to 90 days (I think) more people can order far ahead of their trip. He assured me they are well aware of the big problem and are doing all they can to remedy it. I'm going to TRY and give it a few days until I try again. Like I said, I have a few months.

I feel guilty sharing this with all you who have been trying and trying to get bands, but I wanted to let you know that site is allowing anyone with a reservation to order the bands. My trip is not until December 30th and I was able to successfully order my upgraded band on Tues., July 3rd with no issues. It went through immediately and I received the bands on Sat., July 6th. This was close to my 180 days out.

Hang in there! At the time I ordered, I had NO idea that lots of people were having so much difficulty in ordering them.
 
I got through! Not the ones I originally wanted but everyone is happy! I got the small world one, the 2019 one, the figment one, and the baymax one for DS which was his third choice, but he says he's happy, so I'm good. I had to do it in two orders but so far so good. It's the farthest I've got so far. Good luck everyone!
 


There are some new premium ones that are cool, but I do n't know that I want to spend $15. I never found buying a band to be worth it, but at $10 for a cool design I was game. Of course, I still haven't been successful so there's that.
 
Yes, we do have reservations. I have had no success yet. I don't want to pay $15. I want the castle band and hubby wants the black panther. I guess a lot of people want these same ones.

It took two months, but thanks to the new LE bands, I was finally able to get the right combination of bands available at the same time and into my cart without an error and was able to check out with eight days to spare before the home delivery cutoff. Now to see if they actually ship in time...
 


All I'm asking for is one white castle band for my birthday trip. Every time I see it I click it and the site teases me with that dreaded "Unable to complete your request" screen. Then it shows me all the designs that I do NOT want (all nice tbh, but just not what I wanna upgrade to).
Holding out hope that fate will be kind to those of us wanting our desired bands soon. pixiedust: Luckily my mom is simple. She's perfectly fine with a plain blue magicband, that or purple, either's good for her. Bless her welcome and appreciated indifference. :rotfl2:

I was finally able to get my Dole Whip MB this morning, and I actually cried when it processed. Seriously, the small things lol.

Now if I could just get that pesky ADR.... LOL
 
If the magic band frustration wasn't enough, now when calling customer service I get "I'm sorry, all circuits are busy now".
Has been like this all morning. If it ain't one thing....

Sadly this is to be expected the day new discounts drop, especially one that includes free dining. Disney just cannot handle the influx of people accessing their phones or their online systems.

Not saying I like it but it happens every single time.
 
I finally got our magicbands yesterday, not the ones we originally wanted but a set of new ones that I had not seen before, and which were $15 rather than $10, honestly I sometimes wonder if I should just have my salary paid directly to Disney, it might make things easier :scared:

Oh, I guess I might just give up for awhile. I have to try and change a reservation and on MDE it says I have to call, there is no change or cancel option. ??? This makes the magic band stuff take the back seat for now.

It did that to me at first. I closed my browser, came back in, and magically the Change button came back.

MDE for you... at least I don't get that login loop anymore.
 
My solid color bands shipped the other day. Looks like Disney did not do enough to get me to feel confident in their processes to have me order. They just lost about $60.00 from me!

I've got the small world one no trouble but fancied the castle one. Hubby wanted black panther but that's not happening
 
Like I said, I have until October to order, so I'm holding out awhile longer.
The small world one is cool, but I'm too cheap to pay the extra $5 when I like the castle one better. I feel a bit crazy...lol.
