AP prices increased [6/18/2019]

@omniscientmommy - the Sam's club deal should last til they run out of inventory. So itll depend on how many they have. Probably not enough to last til November

With how many of us suddenly buying them up, and the news will continue to spread like wildfire... I doubt this deal will last very long. I wouldn’t be that surprised if they ran out next month

We live in a sales tax state and the Sams cost for 2 AP's is $1847.06. I believe the tax rate is the same for everyone. What state are you in?

Thanks, Illinois. So sounds like no difference where you live. There was a thread of ppl buying new Sams memberships and asking where to set their address to, but maybe they just didn’t have Sams near them.

Our fam - rest of our party are in Michigan - and we arrange everything so wondered if the APs would have been cheaper. Wife thought that it didn’t matter

Wife said there are other threads discussing the speculation that despite the stated 2030 expiration that the Sams APs are good beyond and they just needed to put a date on them. I’m not sure if many people are planning on holding them that long but it’s interesting- thinking about the scenario where a CM might be harsh enough to turn away someone with these passes in 2031 or using them as credit from 2019 and pricing them up. Id think late 2030 activation - use in 2031 would be latest I’d go- but they’ll probably get used much sooner

Just purchased the Sunday before the rate increase. Their was no mention of the price increase at the window at the time by the CM (who was awesome by the way), We were considering a second AP as well vs 3 day pass vs Summer ticket special. We also had a never used base ticket, th e curious thing about that was that we got credit for the original value and NOT current ticket value.

I'm still having an issue with this, and have called, chatted, and emailed. They are all telling me I can't view rates until my pass is active, which we know isn't true based on just your experience. Can you tell me if you go to your daughters profile on MDE, if the passes are visible there? I can only see ours under My Plans. Nothing shows on my profile, it wants me to load them, but again I can't because they've already been assigned.
Yes, I can see them even on mine as we're linked in family and friends. Have you tried calling tech support? The issue is your AP is not linked correctly. Tech Support: (407) 939-4357

Darn, no AP bridging discount. Not the same but We upgraded our older 7 day tix to 10 day and cm used 2018 prices, but he didn’t have to. It really does vary from cm to cm on what you get. We priced out upgrading old tickets to AP before and surprised in 2017 that the price was well below even if they didn’t price up our old tix

A few pages back someone mentioned that Sam's club was sold out of APs at the lower rate. Can anyone check to see if they are still available (which they seem to be based on comments here) before I buy a membership. Thank you all so much!

The Sams Travel site platinum passes are still there at the discounted rate. A little tougher to get to on the mobile site vs computer

We went to buy discounted giftcards at Sams yesterday and this is the first time I’ve ever seen them not having any for sale in stores. Maybe the new influx in memberships for these APs have something to do with that? Can still buy online but the credit card 5% off warehouse offer I was trying to take advantage of- I’m not sure it will get coded right for purchasing online.

Perhaps the sales tax that is being charged is the Florida sales tax on theme park tickets? Or are people getting charged extra sales tax?

AP prices were increased without warning this morning, some significantly. The Platinum AP (only one available to non-FL residents) increased by over $200. I was on the fence about renewing my AP since I'll have a lot more disposable income and time in the upcoming year, but Disney made the decision easy for me. Nope!
Like you we will not be renewing our AP. In September this year we will have been to Disney Florida 41 times. In view of price increases ...not only to passes....but everything else as well even doubled price on reusable bags....we are calling it a day. Having said that we will be back next year in September as we have been invited to a wedding. We WILL NOT be visiting any Disney establishments. They have completely done it for us. Shame on you Disney.

You are correct that you should be able to view AP rates as soon as the AP is linked in MDE. Yet another instance of Disney not having their crap IT together. If you knowthe dates you are looking for, fellow AP holders could check for you.

Was thinking it must be FL tax for it to be consistent for everyone. But I think I heard it was 6.5% total taxes including fees and Orlando would be 6.5% by itself. But I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as it doesn’t cost more depending on State

I doubt the CM had any idea a price increase was imminent.

Here’s the most recent reply I received:

At this time, the website is working as designed. Since unused theme park admission can be reassigned, the benefits of discounted rates and event ticket's won't show until the Disney Annual Pass is activated.

I told the cast member I chatted with this morning that is was very disappointing to spend thousands on tickets, only to not have access to view all of their benefits.

They're wrong. I could see all AP benefits (and book using AP discounts) as soon as my AP was linked

I know but I’ve exhausted myself trying to explain so I’m giving up.

At the risk of asking an insulting question, are you sure you are looking at dates where an AP discount is available? They don’t go past August right now. I don’t think that’s your problem based on what you’ve posted, just making sure.
