DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

He hasn't said anything to me. I think DW and I may be headed to Jurassic Park Fredericton North for tonight's game so we may have to guilt him into picking us up.
I've admitted before that I'm not much of a basketball fan, but I may jump on the bandwagon tonight. DW and DD19 are both working until 9:00pm. DD11 (nearly 12) is at the age where it's not cool to hang out with dad on a Friday night (well, any night). So I'll be having a couple wobbly pops in my own little Jurassic Park tonight.

One of my greatest joys when DD got her license was guilting her into picking us up on a Friday night. One way to make sure they stay in a driving condition.

Raptors and Blues taking leads in their series, nothing to complain about here. We're off to Family Camp for the night at the YMCA camp in the mountains here. Schools not out yet, but the Y here offers family camp weekends a few times in the spring and fall. It's the same camp the kiddos will be at this summer for 1 week (DD6) and 2 weeks (DD10). Should be fun, though it may be a bit chilly. But that's what the fire is for!

Have a great weekend Gents!

Come on over, we'll save you a seat.

Received email from work today stating still unsure if there will be layoffs, but keep up the good work.

Not necessarily. Most places have 10% for DVC, 10% for AP and 20% for TIW.

Initially, when I got the TIW, I was questioning the value/wisdom, because they give you 20% off, but an automatic 18% tip, so essentially it's 2%. I despise the concept of an automatic tip when the person may do a horrible job. Then someone mentioned you're going to tip anyway (and I typically tip 20% or more). I suppose if the person does a horrible job where I wouldn't leave a good tip, I can simply talk to the manager. Fortunately, there has only been one instance on Disney property where I wanted to leave a poor tip.

Is the TiW worth it then with an AP discount? For you, all year round, then sure. For 2 or 3 weeks in a year?

From memory I thought AP didn’t get you discount on booze, only food

Definitely didn't think about that.

Morning All.

Dropped the Boy off for his last day of classes this morning, still hard to believe that he will be graduating in a couple of weeks.

Saw that on FB. Is he doing anything this summer? I think you said he's going to college in the Fall.

I'm feeling nostalgic on this Friday, gentlemen.
Since I may be going to see Alladin this weekend, I was thinking of the Friday night sign off that started it all (or close to it).
Look at the date stamp...just over two years to the day! Have a good trip home Dan, and enjoy the weekend gents!

You went back to look? That's dedication.

I was just happy when I didn't have to drive them to school.

It has been a while, I know. But here is my annual posting to the main thread. :rotfl2:

1261 pages?! Are there any plans for a new thread anytime soon?

Welcome home. Looked like you all had a fun trip.

Camping was fun when we were younger. Now, the ground seems a lot harder.

Funny you mention that...since I live here, I don't eat there often. I can't give you an answer that works for everyone...

Basically, you'd have to figure out if you would use it enough to save more than the cost. So...for me, to make the math easy...

It saves me 20% each use and the mandatory tip (Ugh) is less than I typically tip anyway. So, if I anticipate having more that $875 in food, it will pay for itself.

20% of $875 = $175. So, in 2 or 3 weeks are you likely to purchase more than $875 in 2 or 3 weeks?

good friday evening gents,
just got back from L A,managed to spend an evening at universal hollywood, turns out it was grad night and it was a zoo.
managed to get some good beer at Karl Strauss and some fish tacos at Margaritaville so not a total loss.

Morning chaps from an overcast London. I’m judging a Lego competition this afternoon at George’s school, I don’t know how I got roped into that. Local Italian restaurant tonight, so I see Calamari, Calzone and Moretti in my not too distant future.

Good luck buddy. Hope it works out. Like the others said, start typing with one finger and take a rest between letters.

1911 for the win!
but I may jump on the bandwagon tonight
After your performance in picking teams in the NFL playoffs, I can’t quite believe that the Raptors won last night. Are you sure you weren’t sitting there in a GSW jersey?

Have a great Saturday chaps from 3.5-8 hours in the future.

That’s a great way to look at it Doc. I think DVC and AP members get Tiw for $150 rather than the Florida rate of $175 so that brings the total spend threshold down to $750 to break even.....

Morning All,

beautiful morning here. Great day for a hair cut and then DS and I will be off to our annual visit to Rib Fest! Can't wait!

Lots of fun last night watching the game with a couple thousand of our closest friends. It was a pretty cool environment but the one negative was the brew pub that hosted it went for the full game experience, inflated beer prices.

Have a good one all.

Good save!

Is this an official Lego sanctioned event? Will you be introduced as one of the key executives from the Lego Corporation?

Looks like more fun for others than for me this weekend. Two days of rain already and 2 more to go. We had our annual Relay for Life event last night and our little county in the heart of Appalachia is known for the largest per capita donation in the state the last few years. It will be interesting to see if we can keep our streak going. The rest of the weekend will be spent working on a grant proposal. Only $10K if I get it and administration takes 10% of that. By the time I cover some slary and benefits for one of the farm crew there isn't much left to do the work with. So why am I killing a weekend?

Morning folks.
Not quite sure what my morning holds. Might work on the deck or clean toilets. The possibilities are endless.
I know I'm working this afternoon/evening. Might be a nice break from sawdust or poop stains. :lmao:

Gee... I wonder. What possible qualifications could you have???
I'm thinking you're gonna see some interesting builds. :)
Morning from a sunny and warm Westfield NB. I got all my yard work done last evening, so my weekend is free to enjoy. Going out for a ride on the bikes, then a BBQ this afternoon and some relaxing. This evening its dinner and a movie.
Nice!
