Trial Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase Program Planning & Discussion

There was a post on a separate forum type website that stated a woman had used a new type of fast pass service at AK recently but could not say any details about it other than it's coming in may. I am not posted that link here because I don't think we are allowed to link sites outside of Dis, right?

Yep, sounds like change is a comin.

All of this has me booking yet another "backup" reservation elsewhere, because if CL FP are no more, I am not paying rack rate for CL in November :sad2:.

I don't know if certain links are prohibited, but links from all over the map are posted over in the Rumors and News Forum. If they weren't allowed, it'd be pretty hard to keep up with the news. (I do know to stay away from political topics.)

Looks like I answered my own question... ;)

Now to determine if I really want to do this over July 4th or stick with EMM at HS...

Well, exactly. I am not too worried about Club Level fast passes, because you aren't the only one that feels that way about it. Certainly they can look back and see what their bookings of CL property was like before AND after CL FP became available.

But if they think they can roll the program out to everyone- I'm not sure that's smart.

First, they need to fill up CL rooms. Mine was steeply discounted- that means people aren't coughing up the money to stay in one under normal circumstances. It makes no sense to get rid of something that seemed to be getting those rooms, finally, booked to capacity, as well as the extra ticket revenue.

Second, CL guests are a different animal than regular park-goers. They're willing to spend big money on Disney- it's a giant leap to think everyone else will, too. I do not think the results of this pilot program can be generalized to the entire guest population. They'd be losing CL guests on the (unproven) theory that other people can replace those revenues.

So, I think that the CL program will remain as it is. However, I do think they'll introduce other forms of paid FP access that further erode the basic park-going experience. That's what this seems to be. It only makes sense for Disney to favor its on-site guests, especially the spendy ones.

I agree with your theories. Case in point, we decided on a whim (thanks Frontier Kids Fly Free) to add a WDW vacation to our plans for this summer. With military tickets, 7 nights at Pop, and DDP, I am right at about $4500 for the trip for 5 people (3 Disney adults, 1 kid, 1 infant). Adding $50 per ticket per day for something that I already feel I’m getting would be 20% increase of my vacation budget. Not happening. I’ll take my vacation $$ elsewhere.

Still waiting for those ‘steeply discounted’ CL rooms at Poly or CR. General public discounts there have been 10-15% for the better part of 2 years now. :-)

Well, now, I can't help it if you're going to be picky. :p I got a 35% discount with an AP pass that I bought for the sole purpose of getting a cheaper room rate, it paid for itself and then some as compared to the the general public discount at BWI. Luckily for me, the EPCOT resorts are my favorites.

But still, I think that any discount at all means they've misjudged what the room is really worth. So how do they make the room worth more? Perks.
Honestly, the club level FP program was a stroke of genius- it's a perk we are actually willing to pay for.

Elsewhere is where we've been for the past few years, too. It's all a question of value- whether you spend $10k or $5k or $1k. A person has to feel that it's worth what they're spending- even those who can spend a lot won't if the value isn't there.

I got a great AP price on my BWI CL stay next week, and decent price for early July as well.
My Nov booking was a bit painful with no discount. :headache:
Not doing CL FP next week, but hope to for July, and in Nov.
All my CL stays are at BWI for my upcoming trips. I am apparently optimistic that I will like it, since it'll be our first time next week. :teeth:

I sure hope they keep CL FPs around, I am curious to see what changes are coming...

We are staying CL at CR 8/26-8/31. We'd like to try this program if it's still around by then. I understand they can't book the same ride multiple times per day, but can you have them book the same ride on more than one day? For example, if I want to to ride SDD on day 1, can I also have them book SDD on day 2 and 3? Also, we are using military salute tickets, so we have four park days. If I only buy the CL FP for the minimum three days, can they book the 4th day of regular FP+ at the 90 day mark? Or do they just book your regular FP+ on the days you are also buying CL FP, and additional day you have to wait until the regular 60 day window and book FP+ yourself? Sorry if this has been asked and answered, the more I read the more confused I get.

I just booked mine, and they did duplicates as long as they were on different days. We're riding FOP several times.
But they don't book your regular FP unless you have CLFP on the same day.
So I have to grab those last few FP (on our non-CLFP day) at the 60-day mark. I hope I don't forget!
Also, it's 90 days from the day you check out, which is weird.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear this! I am debating whether or not to just buy the CLFP for our 4th day because I'm the type that just wants to have it all over and done with so I don't have to worry about it. There are five of us though, so it's not exactly cheap to just add on a day. But also, nothing about Disney is really ever cheap so... Decisions decisions! :)

There are five of us, too. In a way that pushed me to do it because I thought I might not be able to pick up the hard-to-get FP for 5 people. In particular, I had DHS scheduled for our first day there and didn't want to miss the Toy Story Land rides. Or wait for hours!! So we also have a total of 4 days purchased. It's just easier and now I don't have to worry about it.

Plus, with the FP changes they may be making, I feel better having actually bought some. I doubt they'll tinker with those.

Good point but I will back the heck out of a club level booking if it means no option to purchase fast passes. I’m keeping everything as is for the moment until we here firm details. As always with Disney we will adjust our plans accordingly to suit our needs as they change the rules along the way. The only thing we are locked into at this point is 4 day hoppers and trip dates since our flights are booked and our trip precedes our cruise. Not married to anything beyond that if Disney flips the script.
Same! In fact, I just put a deposit down for regular non CL rooms JIC for when we will be there in December. If there is no FP advantage to staying CL, it wouldn't be worth it for us!

I also did the same for our trip in November. We’re park commandos (we RD and close the parks) so staying club level for its own sake doesn’t make sense for us.

With all the speculation regarding paid fast passes and the fact that the Star Wars rides may not have a fast pass line come November, the CL FP program may not be worth it to us. There’s a lot that could happen between now and our trip in November, but I want to be prepared, so I have a CL eligible reservation and a non-CL reservation.

How did you do this? I tried phoning and booking a non CL back up reservation and was told I could only do one at a time....
