OK so I haven't posted much since we got back from our kidless trip. Came home to lots of work and kids sick with a plague (ok, a cold. But a really really bad one. and now me and DH have it
).
In trip news:
It was our first time staying at BWV and OMG I loved it. I loved the smell and the close proximity to Epcot, DHS, and Jellyrolls. Jellyrolls was sort of 'meh' this time which was sad because I was so looking forward to it. It can be so different one visit to the next! They did a BOATLOAD of Billy Joel and other older songs that I don't know so well
(I'm only 30--don't judge!). Plus we got there around 8PM on a Friday which I thought would be enough time to get a table on the floor but, alas, only barstools were left scattered around. Despite that I still managed to
a tiny bit more than I should have which made for a rough night....and I learned a lessen in over consumption which should last a good ten years if my prior track record is any indicator. We did a split stay at BLT and had an awesome lake view even though we booked a standard so that was nice. Walking to and from MK is SOOOO nice. DVC continues to spoil me and every adults only trip officially must include split stays at a BLT and either BWV or BCV.
We paid for the After Hours and MK and it was a ton of fun although they really need to work on their admission process. They had maybe 4 lanes of touchpoints open to scan in but then from there you had to funnel directly into a sort of unidentifiable mystery line to get bracelets which they didn't initially have for anyone at 7:10PM. We were in line for like 25 minutes in a gaggle of people all waiting for a mere 2-3 cast members to apply special event bracelets while there was a good 4-5 cast members standing behind them not helping put bracelets on at all and laughing and joking with each other while the mood in the line was getting rather cranky. Definitely a frustrating start to an even that you paid $100 bucks PP for. After that though it was nice and I am glad we did it. And as far as our first 1st class experience.....that was pretty fun. We all kept giggling because we are *not* fancy and had no idea what to expec so things like the hot towel before the meal had my husband whispering to me 'What is this for?'
. It was fun but I doubt I would splurge the points for 1st again. I am almost always going to choose quantity over quality when it comes to my flights (within reason. I'm not flying Spirit here). Maybe if I get on the GrAAvy train and I am rolling in points though. Haha!
Card related:
After executing my last plan I have been unsure where to go next for the last few weeks because we will both be 4/24 I want to make good use of those last spots. Once we get over I plan to go hog wild but the idea of being 4/24 gives me agita. My main goal is replenishing UR's while we can
