I love credit cards so much!

Sorry, but I have one more question on my SW Plus card. I decided to close the card, but I was waiting as long as possible to cancel hoping my anniversary points would post (they haven't). I closed the card today, and my payment is due tomorrow. I paid the $5 charge that I had outstanding today, but not the AF. The Chase rep said that the card was closed, but that I would get a final stmt showing a late fee, then the late fee being backed out with a balance of $0. My question is will this count as a late payment for my credit? I'm leaning towards going ahead and paying it, then having a $69 credit that I can request be refunded. Thoughts? Is this how this is supposed to happen? Seems kind of weird to me, but I definitely don't want a late payment shown on my account. Thank you!

I'd probably pay the fee. I would never trust the card issuer to be reasonable when reporting anything late (even in this situation). It should be very easy to either get the $69 refunded later OR move that credit balance to another card still open.

I've stayed at MGM Grand several times and I've never had any issues but I swear, something is going on with this place. You might recall I had no hot water when I checked in, gave up waiting, took a cold shower and was moved the next morning.

This afternoon, I soaped up my hands, turned on the tap and then had no water. No water from ANY of the taps to be accurate. I "washed" with a lysol wipe and it was at least 30 minutes before my water came back. I did take a video of the dry pipe making air noises. When the water did come back it was pretty black for awhile. I mean, is this the point I complain and get something for my troubles? I'm not a problem maker, but come on.

Positive news: my DVC contract passed ROFR.
100% yes. And I would not be kind & understanding.

:( I encourage everyone to at least get themselves a throwaway Twitter account with a fake name for use in emergencies (I’m a big fan of DMing airlines on Twitter to fix screwups!)

Some hightlights...

“Worst merger & acquisition goes to Marriott & SPG. Just when you think things couldn't have gotten any worse it was revealed that 500 million people had their data breached.”

“Biggest [screw] up of the year goes to whoever made the American Express Amazon 20% off promotion work twice within a day. Very rare not to see Citi take this category out with their general level of IT incompetence.”

“Worst credit card application rule is always a hotly contested category and this year we are proud to announce that [at]chase has won after expanding the 5/24 rule to co-branded cards.”

ETA: ...apparently there is a user here back from 2004 with the handle Chase and no activity...

Worst lies goes to marriott: If you don't like your travel package you can upgrade it. If you can't use your travel package you can extend it.

Things to consider:
Lounges-Your girls are a little younger than my DD but where I've really found the Plat personal to be helpful is adding 3 AUs (DD, DH and DM) for $175 and having that many more Amex Offers AND Centurion/Skyclub lounges. I doubt that would be as enticing if your DH has a plat and/or with your girls being a little too young for AU status (?maybe in the future?). I can't lie, one of the tipping points before they raised the biz AF was @mmmears description of the PHL Centurion lounge :D I've never had time to spend in the SLC skyclub and I know y'all fly a lot to MCO (there's is kind of old but okay) so not sure how important the lounge is to you.

Saks-as I've said before, I use a ton of expensive sunscreen so this (and other beauty items) are a nice gratuitous perk twice a year. Could you find something you could use?

Uber-I've never used it but if my credit ever loads on my app it will be nice to use. Would you use this or UberEats?

We gave the first set of Uber credits to DD -- it's useful for college kids. ;) And she has spent many hours in that PHL lounge - I hope you get some use out of it. They are really nice there, too. I need to check out that sunscreen since the Saks credit is about to reset.

Packing folder question for those who use one:

Brand or does it matter? And which size? I'm looking for one for dh for his button-up shirts.

We use Eagle Creek. I bought them years ago (maybe 8 or 9) and they have held up and look like new. DH uses a folder for his button down shirts and they come out looking great. We went with the size that fits into our tiny little carryons since we hate checking baggage. I played a Tetris-like game with our luggage and ordered pieces (folders and cubes) that would fit together nicely.

And, that's it, I just lost my job. Almost 50 and unemployed, Merry Christmas to me.

I am so, so sorry. :sad2: And I hope that you find something even better soon. :grouphug:

Thanks. Just tried to book a Hyatt stay and it offered a 30,000 bonus plus $150 rebate. I assume the 60,000 points is a better deal?

I have to book a stay someplace downtown Chicago for Dec 19th, and a stay by Port Canaveral on Jan 27th for one night before a cruise. Unfortunately, Hyatt does not have a place by the cruise docks. Marriott and IHG do.
Have any hilton points? There are several properties, incl a brand new Homewood I have booked for next week. (ETA: at the port)

Just dashing in to post this, back later for reading.

Great place for those who love to cook, Penzey’s spices, has a few stores nationwide but a great website. Their spices and seasoning blends are top notch. They are having a gift card deal $35 for a $50 GC today and tomorrow. If you like to cook or need a gift, I love this place. (Plus if you send up for emails or catalogs they regularly send you coupons for free stuff)

I actually went into one of their stores on Saturday :) Dh had so much fun smelling everything lol--he added several things onto my planned list! I stood at the register and searched my email for their latest email to get that freebie :D

Lol about your first line!!!
I’ve had mine go away and come back. I think if it’s added it should still post. Maybe a screen shot?

So Minnie van is on the LYFT app? I wonder if you can use Lyft gcs? We need transpo from WDW to port, port to uni, uni to mco so would prob only work for first leg. There are 4 of us so a xl Lyft or uber should work for other trips? I’ll look into Happy Limo. I heard Ace transpo too. Or rent a car.
Happy limo is on the app for within wdw, but you have to call a number to book the wdw to port part.
