Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Halloween movies? This is my limit

I apologize for my typo that is now glaring at me like a sign on the Vegas strip. I do know there is supposed to be an "a" before "tiny child", and have now gone back and corrected it. I was watching Lark Rise to Candleford while typing, and it must have distracted me. They were really good episodes - but definitely tamer stuff than Halloween!!!!

You know I might have to send you over to our new grammar correction thread going on on the CB right now, Twilight!! :rotfl:

But is "on on" being used correctly, I don't know!! :scratchin

I remind him of Jamie Lee.
Aww that's a very nice compliment

Beautiful!
Thank you!

Jane and Mackenzie, love the decoration pics.
Thank you!

::yes::

My idea of great Halloween movies runs more toward Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown!
We typically try to watch (though it's often interrupted with the trick or treaters) a horror or thriller movie on Halloween. I think this year we're going to try out the House on Haunted Hill series on Netflix. That's easier to pause too and pick back up later on.

I do enjoy horror movies though normally it's psychological ones rather than gory ones. Til this day Aaron and I both think Paranormal Activity (the first one) is one of the scariest movies we've seen. Maybe moreso to me because I've had a ghost follow me throughout the years. Mostly it's a male but sometimes I hear a girls voice. Neither have ever harmed me and I honestly think it may be more protective.

Anywho I also enjoy Hocus Pocus and the like for those kinds of movies. It all depends on the mood I'm in.

This is the 2nd cruise for dgs (12) with us, the 1st was on the Disney Wonder when he was just 6 years old. This cruise we are bringing his mother. :teeth: She has never been on a ship, a boat, or in a canoe... you get the picture.
DW and I really want to get our DGDs on a Disney cruise, it's just a matter of time. I love that your DGS is going on his second cruise at a young age. Travel experiences like this are such a great opportunity for kids and you know he'll remember it his whole life. It'll be quite an eye-opener for his mother too! You are very generous to give them the opportunity.

While I was growing up our travel was car trips of approx 150 miles twice a year(except one trip to Disneyland.) DW & I made sure that our DDs got to travel and now we're doing it with our DGDs (and still DDs sometimes!)

Ronandannette, I thought about you this weekend. Our little backyard snowbirds made their first appearance of the season. The white throated sparrows and dark eyed juncos have returned from Canada to enjoy their winter holiday. We were so happy to see them again!
They might want to think about flying back up our way - hardcore winter was just a false alarm. The past few weeks have been the weather we should have had in September. A little frost overnight but the daytime temps reaching anywhere from 50-70 F with tons of sunshine. Every vista is blazing gold against a bright blue sky; just like it should be. :goodvibes

That sounds wonderful!

Excited, but nervous!

We booked a Bermuda cruise for July. This is the 2nd cruise for dgs (12) with us, the 1st was on the Disney Wonder when he was just 6 years old. This cruise we are bringing his mother. :teeth: She has never been on a ship, a boat, or in a canoe... you get the picture. :sail:

That sounds like so much fun! I'm excited for you!

So we sort of got foiled on the fall colors yet again. Remember how we had plans to be in East TN at just the right time? Well, that was supposed to be this past weekend. But, when I went to book a place, the hotels, cabins, and airbnb availability was really low and prices weren't good on what was left. Turns out three major concerts and a festival were all going on over the weekend plus peak color change, so we opted not to go. But there's actually a happy ending because we are having a pretty spectacular change here in West TN this year. We don't usually see as nice of a display as the eastern part of the state, but this week has been gorgeous. I'm loving it! We are getting a little wind today so the leaves are starting to drop, but there's still plenty of color at this point. I was driving on one of the back roads earlier today (curvy, complete trees on either side), and came around a curve to a see it raining red, yellow, and orange leaves ahead of me. I felt like a little kid standing in my first snowstorm driving through that. It was such a beautiful moment! Wish I had it on video. I hope the rest of you guys are having a beautiful fall, too! We know ronandannette are!

Similar but, a bit different story here. We were choosing a sail date, and at the 11th hour I realized we were not thinking about The 4th of July! which would have (keywords 'Would Have') seen us in Airport and/or Highway chaos. :rolleyes1

We have since booked a different time, been excited, and have enjoyed viewing some past videos of people on 4th of July airport travel. Btw, I loved the TX accent during my conversations with the agency.

Our colour change has been spectacular this season too. :sunny:

Edited: Oops! You are in TN not TX. :)

We at least know she's having a lovely early winter!! :rotfl:

I will say lower Michigan has had a very colorful fall even though I wish our temps had been a tad warmer.

Our pretty autumn weather may be behind us. We got a real cold snap over the weekend and enough snow to cover the ground again yesterday. It’s -11C here this morning - just about time for me to haul my mitts out of the back of the closet. :teeth:

The worst thing about this time of the year is the “dread”. You never really know if this snowfall is the one that stays or if it will turn nice again for a little while. One thing is for sure...Winter is Coming...:scared:

Ohhh that sounds lovely! What size ship is it?

Well at least there's a happy ending! Sorry though that the initial plans fell through. When I can I like to take photos of the pretty trees I see.

Fall colors are fairly pretty here but quickly fading as the trees lose their leaves. But boy oh boy does our backyard, like normal, have a ton of leaves on the ground. We're umm a bit lazy nowadays. Since we back up to woods and have a bit of the woods on our property along with having a leaf blower as of last year we just blow the leaves into the woodsy parts of our property (we don't blow them into the woods as that's not our property) instead of raking the leaves. I mean it is good for the soil and whatnot for the leaves to decompose and provide nutrients right lol.
