Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

That is correct. You can use Disney gift cards in the two Disney gift shops, one in each the Swan and the Dolphin.
To piggyback on this, anyone know if you can buy a Disney GC at Disney shop at Swolphin ? Can you charge stuff from gift shop to your room?

and.....what form of transportation is most commonly used to get to/from MCO and the Swan/Dolphin. I did read the transportation page and saw the options available but I wasn't sure what mode "most" people used?

Does anyone know how much an Uber/Lyft would be for 2 adults and 2 bags??

thanks again!

We just got back on Monday. We took an Uber for $50. It did have a car seat so there is a surcharge.

The cost depends on time, traffic conditions, and demand when you order the Uber. I have paid as low as $32 (plus tip) and as much as $48 (plus tip).

so I could budget on the high end and say $50 and be fine - ok, great!!

I would budget for more than $50 - unless you don’t want to tip. I always give the driver a cash tip ($10-$20 for an airport run, especially if they handle luggage).

Budget high and whatever’s left can go towards those expensive Mickey bars or $4.50 20-oz Dasani water! :faint:

Don't forget that the Swolphin resort fee includes some daily water bottles for a bit of an offset. ;)

If you go to ride.guru you can use the site to look at various options and prices from the base level Uber/Lyft to higher end as well as adjusting based on surge pricing. It will also show comparisons for taxis. It does have an app for your phone as well.

We used Lyft from the airport to S/D price was in the mid-30s - driver didn't help with anything (which is just fine with me) nor talk, we didn't tip much as a result.

They could not have done the Gondola work last May-June. They were busy building the gondola towers back then and the stations at Epcot and HS.

Here is what the Swan / Dolphin are showing, notice the end date is 1 week earlier than Christmas day.

This work sounds like it will be cable pulls that will impact all the Epcot resorts and just not the Swan / Dolphin.

Since this notice mentions only bus transportation as options to HS and EP, do you think it is possible the pathway will be closed for walking as well? If we cannot walk to HS and EP I will cancel and just move off property. Waiting on busses drives us crazy and the major selling point of these resorts is being able to walk to 2 of the 4 parks!

I'd call and ask. Though they may not know for sure yet. (407) 934-4000

I called yesterday afternoon twice. The first time the CM referred to the old notice about the first time the boat service went down when the bridge work was being done. So I tried again and that CM did know about the upcoming boat closure but had no advice about the walking path being accessible other than call back closer to the date. I will be keeping an eye on it and post if I find anything out.

@jessicadisneygirl glad you called, not totally shocked they don't know. You might try getting in contact with the Boardwalk and see if they know if it will be updated. There are no direct #'s but you might see if you can get through by calling (407) 939-3476. As short as the bus is to either Epcot or HS would be I'd think it would be ok, but not as good as boat. I agree it's one of the huge pluses to staying at S/D.
