Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Also:
  • In 2016, 10,497 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for 28% of all traffic-related deaths in the United States.
  • I have no idea how many have died since then. Tens of thousands I’m sure. Y’all are correct that it’s unfair to compare drinking to second hand smoke. Drinking does a much better job of killing people.

Which is why it's illegal to drink and drive. There is no harm to others from drinking and walking around a theme park or resort.

Guys, the resort FAQ threads are supposed to be at least somewhat informational. An aid to planning for those considering a stay at the resort. A place to get specific questions answered by fellow posters who know the resort well.

This isn't the place for extended debates over your personal opinions on allergies, smoking, accident statistics, etc. Take that to the Community Board, or better still, to a PM.

2 WEEKS TO GO FOR US! We're regular POP guests but haven't been there to see any of the room refurbishments, so very excited about this trip. Does anyone have pictures of what the rooms look like now?

PLEASE review the gentle suggestion made by @Lynne M above. The DIS provides the Community Board and the private 'Conversation' system to discuss items which are well beyond the scope of this Forum.

Thanks in advance for your future cooperation. :)

There was a recent post that waffle fries are there. As for the Halloween mugs, they get them and then run out.

I never saw the Halloween mugs once in the 5 days we were there :(

Hi Everyone!

2 weeks today until we go on our first WDW holiday staying at POP!

Because we’ve never done this before I was just looking for advice on room suggestions and how to check in (potentially a ridiculous question but I like to know details).
Because we don’t know the layout of the hotel and what’s best then would love some suggestions on what building to try stay in.
Should we do room requests? What’s the benefit of this? If so, how?

We’re in the UK and MDE says we can check into our hotel, should we do this prior to arrival? Does it make any difference for when we get there?

Any other tips/suggestions would be great!

Thanks

Did you book a standard or a preferred room? We stayed in a standard room in building 10 and really liked it since it’s close to the buses. If you want to make a request you will have to call it in because the online system no longer works. We always stop at the front desk because we like to get a map and talk to the cms about any special things we have to get buttons.

We booked standard, we really aren’t fussed about what room but it seems like a lot are quite particular so was curious!
Thanks, I think we have to stop at front desk to collect magic bands anyway so will definitely do that

Do you want to be close to the buses or lobby? Do you like one of the decades the best? Do you want a top floor room? Those are usually the things we ask ourselves. A lot of people ask for a lake view room. We really like having the top floor.

I know that if you use Uber/Lyft that they pick you up at the front of your resort for the most part. When they drop you off at each park, is it near the bus drop off or somewhere else?

Somewhere else. For MK it's the Ticket and Transportation Center. For the others there's a drop off area by the parking lots.

Can I ask why people request a lake view room? Can you see fireworks or something?
