I love credit cards so much!

As long as you book with UR points out of the CSR/CSP account AND decline the car rental company's collision damage then you are covered. This is of course unless Chase changed something else again and I completely missed it but I'm sure something like that would have hit the blogosphere. I'd till use the CSR at the counter, just in case.
thanks for the DP! I'm doing the same on our next trip....altho I'm hoping to skip the counter since I pre registered Dh thru insiders program....and input all our info already...

I appreciate the responses but I don’t think Alamo will allow me to use a CSR or CSP that doesn’t match my ID (as I am the driver, not my wife). That’s what sparked the discussion in the first place.

Regardless, I pay no attention to those insurance benefits on cards anyways lol. Last time I rented a car I probably put it on whatever card I was working on MSR. I probably will just continue to pay it no mind haha.
I don't see why you can't use your dw's card to hold the booking.... since when has the name had to match the main driver anyway? I mean, this is the first time I've used all points for the rental, but in the past I just used whatever card I needed to without regard for the name on it(we were together at rental time) and it was never an issue....now you're making me nervous....

When you rent a car, the card you use to pay must match the driver's ID. My DH was a car rental agent in college and that's what he just said. Plus we were told that at the Budget desk at MCO in January.
hmmmm..... so if Alamo has free spouse as driver perk(insiders) then can I use my name on my card? and DH can be my alternate? (I don't want to drive but I will out of the garage if needed) like I can be the main, he is the free spouse?

@SouthFayetteFan ..... so.... I need to be sure that DH uses one of his cards? I intend to skip the counter, so where do we use it? at exit? I'm still gonna try using mine first and then regroup if they say no

DP for RMN.
I used my iPhone to download the RMN app and selected CVS, Home Depot, Walgreens, Staples and Kolhs.
I figured there would be a good chance my purchase would not work because I didn’t link the cards until after I made the purchases. So yesterday I figured I’d try going to CVS to see if it would go pending since that purchase would be after linking the card. It did not. So then I signed up DH using our ipad and a different email address. I went to Walgreens, CVS, Home Depot and Staples and all four were pending when I got home.

I'll also agree that anytime I've ever rented a car the name of the driver had to match the card that was on file. Of course, that's not to say you couldn't switch drivers at some point during your trip, but it's risky. It could cause trouble if you get into an accident.

I swear Citi is incompetent... Messaged to ask how much I had left towards MSR. My calculation shows I've spent about $2340 of the $2500 MSR. They responded I'd spent $1140. I told them there was no way that was correct. Just for laughs, I threw out that I thought I had approximately $300 left to spend. The response: "Yes, you are correct." Nope, literally neither one of us is correct... what the heck are they looking at over there? I have a $500 bill I'm planning to put on it so it will be taken care of regardless, but good grief are their chat agents terrible!

@hsmamato2 - this one is actually not my area of expertise. I rarely rent cars (and admittedly, as I said before I usually don't care about this rental coverage thing either). In this particular instance, I am trying to figure out exactly how to take full advantage of the Ultimate Rewards benefits...BUT I don't have a CSR or CSP in my name. There seem to be some conflicting thoughts on how to best do that (probably since it's a somewhat complex scenario).

Lol spooky buddies? Like with the puppies?
That's the one. The classic legend of the Halloween Hound :lmao:

Apparently it's "Disney Week" at TPG... so get ready to see some hilarious errors/omissions.
They seem to have a fairly good understanding of WDW but there are some gems. Not really sure why they say PH tickets are only for park commandos.

Since you can book FastPass+ slots 60 days before your first Disney Resort day, you may need to look to your second or third park day to get really popular FastPasses, such as Mine Train, Slinky Dog Dash and Flight of Passage.

Has anyone in recent history been able to pull SDD at 60+2? Anyone?? Bueller???

They also say you can get 5% off Disney GCs at Target with a REDcard. Isn't that dead?

I haven't been able to get SDD at 60+2 for my November trip. And I think you can still do 5% on Disney GCs, you just can't do Target GC-Disney GC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

DISchurners would like to welcome it's 200th Member!!

Our 1 year anniv. of the DISchurners group is approaching on Oct 18th... AND I am very excited to welcome our 200th member @MKTokyo! :welcome:

I know we don't actually have 200 active members here or there (some people have drifted away no doubt) but it's still pretty cool to see how we've built this group in the last year!! party:

@Lain I have to thank you for all your restaurant charging escapades which sounded so delicious I made a Thai noodle bowl I haven’t done in a long time. DS hated it but DH and I enjoyed it!

In other news, still waiting for PNC bonus even though last requirement posted >10 days ago.

I was also thinking about our upcoming trips next March and May. Excited to consider a lounge (have never stepped foot in one) with PP from my SPG Lux. Then realized we depart from Midway in March, not OHare, and there are no lounges. Doh. And the OHare flight in May is at 7 am. I did book the Hilton in the airport for that one and thanks to SPG Lux, CSR and BOA Premium Rewards, we should all have GE by then.

My final qualifier for PNC posted on 9/13 so I am waiting as well. I wonder if posts on the statement when that is cut.

Finally caught up! I set client work aside today to catch up here. We all returned with the lovely Disney cold, ugh.

Questions:
- How long do I have to use the airline offer on my PRG? I haven't chosen an airline yet and I'm not sure if there's a deadline for that. I think I'm in month 3 now. I need to read up on this new one.
- I'm not sure anyone has an answer for this one, best card for renewing Google Domains? Or, domains in general. I think my Namecheap charges aren't getting a bonus on CIP and I kind of hoped they would, my hosting does. I need a good card for this.
- Any idea why my Amex cards were removed from Samsung Pay? Very well could be that I just need to verify them and didn't get that done fast enough, new phone a few weeks ago.
- I think I want to stay, at least a few nights, at Hilton Hawaiian Village. I think I should be looking at Hilton Aspire? Did I read that UR can't transfer to Hilton? What about MR? I'm ready to work on hammering this out. Yes, I know I should have already done this and I have been building UR, but that's why I said a few nights lol If Southwest would hurry up...

It resets for the calendar year. You should go and select one before you forget. You have until year end to use the credit. Which airline are you going to choose? Some you can just but a gift card for. That is what I did with Southwest.

I sold my Delta on Raise. It was pretty easy and user friendly.

I have seen reports and I tried listing a SW card and it will pend for 45 days. Travel cards (airline, hotel, etc.) are now held that long.

I'm thinking about this answer...is CSP out of reach for someone young and starting out on their own card? I could get ds to app for that one possibly if so, it's a good card and I can help him hit the spend no issue...

It will require a $5k minimum line to start and also the income to support that line. I would look at this one later down the road, maybe after college.

Met the MSR on my SPG Lux on 9/11 and the 100,000 points are showing on Amex today. Should post to Marriott/SPG account in a couple days.

I thought with my Biz they had posted a couple days after showing on the Amex site. I chatted the other day and was told they post 24-48 hours after the statement. Statement cut today so hopefully by Wednesday I will see them.

They told me there was no free second driver through any program, I would have to pay. I do know going through Costco gets a free second driver, but then you're paying for the rental and I wanted to book on points. May need to double check the perks of the Insiders program.

I don't know because I'm not familiar with the insiders program. DH is an auth user on my United card so we always use that one to rent for the primary coverage.

I'm going to assume(hope) that since I booked the car under my CSR,and thus am a spousal driver with the insiders agreement, it should all be covered in case something goes wrong. logically it seems like coverage would be in effect for car booked using the CSR points....

I have spent a fair amount of time looking for FPs for friends. I would suggest the night before your HS day or that morning, if you have down time, try refreshing repeatedly. SDD usually shows up eventually.
