They live in LA, so yes high cost of living, but they make pretty good salaries... and they live/eat for free at the private school BIL works at. No regular utilities, but maybe cable/internet. That's the kicker for me. They never travel, they don't go out to events/theatre/etc, very minimal living expenses... soooo where does it go?
Sorry to hear it...I lost interest in it after the CC reload was shut down.damn, my redbird got shut down... :\ oh well, was fun when it lasted.

Doing something new now?
Heads up for Chase double dippers:
I've seen two reports on /r/churning today of successful double dips followed by a call from Chase a few days later -- one report called it a "credit review." It seems the Chase rep in one of the reports asked why they applied for two cards, and in the other asked questions about income, income sources, and past use of credit. In both cases, the cardholders were allowed to keep both cards but had their credit lines on the cards lowered.

These two reports are the first I’ve ever read about Chase calling after a double dip. Two reports in one day is a little too coincidental for comfort so I thought it was worth mentioning here. Again, neither report resulted in the closure of a card or a shutdown (yet?), just credit line decreases. I don’t know if this is a new practice going forward, but it’s something we should probably be aware of in evaluating risk, and have a story ready if Chase comes calling. I’m very interested to see if there are more of these DPs as people continue to double dip. Will keep a lookout.
Thanks for updating....I’m considering doing this the beginning of next year so will watch how it all unfoldsSo last week, I relayed some DPs from reddit that reported calls from Chase a few days following a double dip, inquiring about why they applied for two cards, income, use of credit, etc., and resulting in lowered credit limits on both cards.
I've since seen two more similar reports from yesterday and today:

These two (or three, including a reply) DPs don't report any calls from Chase; it just seems Chase unilaterally reduced credit limits on both cards without notice.
When did you get your CIC? My brain is leading me to tell you CIP at the moment, but there isn't enough info here. Can you share the dates you got all your cards?

I’m wondering about that too...Will wait and see if I want to risk it in January....would be much more willing to do it if it were the first two Chase cards I was after. Just not sure if it worth risking everything I have with ChaseInteresting on the 2nd comment you list there, kinda throws my theory that the auto approval algorithm went wacky. His (or hers) limits were reduced so drastically I don't think it's that simple.
Maybe they're considering a double dip of any kind a risk factor and are planning accordingly? A reply to that comment had it happen to them on a double dip of the SW cards months ago. So it's not totally new, but seems more prevalent as I would have thought folks would have heard about it before. But that does beg the question, what kind of eyes are on your account when this happens? Is it just a automated double check or does it throw it to a human who looks at your whole account and can start tracking patterns (on everyone).
Ok, need some advice...I need a new MSR to work on.
2 player mode:
DH is over 5/24 till 10.18 but has the CSR, Delta Am Ex, Hilton Ascend, CFU and IHG.
I have the Marriott (which I just upgraded to the Premier with the 20k bonus), 2 CF's, Hilton (no Fee) Am Ex and Delta Gold Am Ex. I also have the CIC biz card. I'm at 4/24 right now with another falling off 11.18.
I'm thinking of applying for the IHG card as we are tentatively planning a trip to the UT national parks next year and IHG seems plentiful there.
We have plenty UR's and Hilton points right now. We've also have the SW companion pass through this year and a credit going into next year so I'm thinking I need to concentrate more on hotel options. We are Delta hostages in terms of air but for an hours drive we can make SW work too. I had the SPG personal but I cancelled it in anticipation of the new card that might be coming out (I also didn't get much use out of it).
Any thoughts on my plan? IHG for now since it doesn't count against 5/24? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks!

P.S. If you've been thinking about buying Starpoints, this really may be your last chance because the Marriott/SPG/Ritz-Carlton loyalty programs are supposed to consolidate on 8/1/18 and Starpoints will be converted 3:1 to Marriott points. Accounts must at the same address for 30 days to transfer to other members in the same household.

I passed earlier on buying Starpoints but sort of regretted it. I now have 139K Marriott points so need 44K Starpoints for a 270K travel package. My problem is I am not sure what airline I would want to transfer to. Mostly fly SW but I still have my eye on possibility of Hawaii in 2019. I am not sure what I would fly there though thinking United. How much time do you think I would have to get the travel package? Do we think they are changing on/after 8/1 or would I have time to plan more? Either way I'll buy the points just wondering when I need to pull the trigger on a package? Also now have time to sign DH up for an account and have him buy some points!Take 35% off when you buy 5,000+ Starpoints® is back through July 20, 2018.

For anyone who uses their Amex Offers- $60 off $300 SPG stay showed up on my SPG card (whoo hoo!) as well as others AND both 10% and 15% off at Starbucks, up to $5. Not sure if they'll apply the 15% or 10% first or simultaneously. DD is hooked on SB so it's a win at this house
