2018 Free Dining Watch Thread V3

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question.

If our stay is November 27th through December 4th we will have the FD all days, correct? I read somewhere we would only have it on Nov 27th. My email confirmation was showing only November 27th. My husband called last night and was told that Nov 27th is the last day of the promotion but it is supposed to cover the whole stay. She then told him that they are upgrading their online services so it should right in the next 24 hours. However, I can't find it anywhere in the app or online where it lists our days of the FD. Is there somewhere I can see what dates we have?

It applies to you entire stay. If your check-in day falls within the free dining promo, you entire stay qualifies for free dining.

Thank you! Our original plan was checking in on Nov 29th and was only backing it up to the 27th for the FD. If it wasn't included the entire stay then it seemed pointless to leave earlier.
 


I have a strange question. I am booked with free dining on dec 23. We are driving from oh. If something would happen and we ended up getting there after midnight to check in... would we lose our dining? Even if we call and say we are in our way, but running late?

I wouldn't think so as long as you check in before the next day (overnight) but you could always call Disney and double check. I'm sure people check in overnight all the time, plus you paid for that night. You can do online check in and they wouldnt even know what time you got to your room.

When you arrive your account will be credited for the entire length of your stay. You will have a total of 7 nights of credits x the number of people in your party. You can use those credits as you wish throughout the length of your stay. All credits will expire at 11:59pm on September 29th.

Yes, it goes by how many nights you are staying. I'm not sure which dining plan you chose but you'll basically have 7 days or credits per person. For example if you chose the standard plan you would have 7 table service meals total and 7 quick service meals total and 14 snacks. You have from the time you check in until midnight on the day you check out to use your credits. You could use 5 one day and then none the next day if you wanted.

FD covers the length of your stay as long as your check in date is within the FD promotion period. Current FD promotion is 11/24-11/27. Dining plans give you one allocation of meal credits per night you stay. So you'll have 7 nights worth to be used by midnight of the 27th. We are staying 11/24-12/3 with FD the entire stay.

Online look under MDE, My Reservations and Tickets. Above your check in date it should show "Free Dine Offer MYW Pkg + Dining". If it does, then you are good for your entire stay.
 
For those of us starting FD on Nov. 24, I hope you were able to get what you wanted. We were, for both my crew and my parents. Would like to slide our CRT back a couple of hours - we have a BOG bfast at 8, then CRT lunch at 11:15 on Nov. 29. Our actual preference was for those 2 on Nov. 23, but that was only day 2 of our first split stay, and with the heavy Thanksgiving crowds, just hasn't been available. Otherwise, had a good morning. just some scheduling issues with Yachtsman (only avail for dinner that time of year instead of lunch) and House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch not showing the 10:30 availability - only showing 1pm, neither of which are a huge dinger. Next Sunday begins booking for round 3 of the three-part-split-stay, but the biggies are out of the way. Now, if we could only have Mickey's BY BBQ open up a Category 1 for the 5:30 show, that would be great - it's arrival day, and we were only able to get Cat. 2 for the 2 pm show on Thanksgiving. Flight window for booking opens up on May 31, so I have to plan for a flight arrival to MCO no later than 10 am to be safe. But I suppose that if that doesn't happen, then we use the longer time window from our plans to accomodate for the post meal character meet, though we would prefer the pre-meal no lines of the Cat. 1.

I have a split stay as well, and on Saturday morning I was able to book Trattoria al Forno for Thanksgiving dinner, Yak & Yeti, and Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic. This morning we got everything we wanted for the 2nd half of our stay: Sanaa dinner, Akershus dinner, Ohana dinner, and BOG lunch and breakfast. I was pleased that the Fantasmic packages and restaurants typically held back for CP were available so I don't have to continue my search! I'm looking forward to revisiting old favorites and trying a couple new places!
 
My reservations open up June 12th - and per Disney style, December park schedule is still not up. So, I am just making a list of everything I'm going to try and get, and planning park days based on my trip last year (we've been going for two weeks around the same dates for the last few years, and the itineraries have been shockingly similar). I was fortunate not to have to book a split stay, we'll be at Pop Dec. 9th-23rd. Excited to see the new rooms finally! I almost booked Animal Kingdom Lodge, but figured I'd go with Pop to see the room reno before the prices shoot sky high (when the gondola is up and running!). Congrats to everyone that got what they wanted!
