Official Wine & Dine 2018

Wasn't last year the first time they had a Halloween party on November 1st?

So far my CM source says no party is listed on the 1st...

Darn. Well this is what I found just looking at past official MNSSHP threads on DIS...

MNSSHP Nov 1 party?

2013 Yes
2014 No
2015 Yes
2016 No
2017 Yes

Sigh - I too was ready and able to register on the 12th. Since then spent a lot of time at the hospital with family and last night we got a snow storm and had to spend time setting up a sick horse in a dry stall so didn't get to bed until very late and then shoveling snow as soon as I got up. Just remembered about registration a little over an hour ago. West coast so needed to be doing this at 9 am not 11:45 am. 5 & 10K's long gone. So now yet another day to wait for. :headache::headache::headache:

Dang well that stinks. Dh completely shifted his thinking anyway and now doesn’t want to go at all
He wants to go to Europe... I should be excited except I don’t want to go to Europe lol

For those of you that have done the 5ks at WDW before, how does it work if it is untimed? How do they do corral placements, etc, and how much time can you take on course? For the 10k I plan to just run and maybe stop for one pic if I can, but the 5k I’d like to spend as much time on course as I can getting pictures and just enjoying the course. Wasn’t sure how much time I would be able to take.

They corral based on your anticipated time you entered. You can take as much time as you want pretty much as they don't sweep.

Excellent, thanks! That’s what I was hoping. I’m pretty certain I will be in the last corral for the 10k as I’m not submitting a POT so I plan to just run the 10k and hope I can get far enough ahead to stop for a pic somewhere.

Our thing is we will most likely have 1 or 2 days at the hotel during the day so we might want something more quiet and relaxing.

I've stayed at pop, sports, and music, and the pool areas have been just as quiet and relaxing as bay lake's pool and the GF and VGF pools. Which is to say that the fancy hotel pools and grounds are just as noisy as the value ones.

Now the party won't happen? Yikes. Could be an interesting dinner conversation in the DooDah household tonight...

I'd wait until it's a done deal. Sounds like there are other reasons for going, no matter how the idea got sparked, so...

So Disney is celebrating Mickey's 90th birthday later this year. The actual day is Nov. 18th but the celebration will be longer than that. Do we think we will see some of that during Wine and Dine?

If Disney is doing something, I would fully expect it to be up and running by then.

My first trip to WDW was in 1978 which was Mickey's 50th birthday and they were already celebrating it in May when we visited. The afternoon parade was themed to Mickey's birthday. I still remember the song. They probably won't make that big a deal about his 90th but I bet in 10 years, they'll do a big thing for his 100th.

I know we could buy Happy Birthday Mickey stuff during W&D last year (he and my BFF have the same birthday), but that was about it ...

No POT for the 10k either. Which means everyone but Challenge runners are corralled only by their estimated pace. So if your estimated pace is the slowest option, then you will end up in the last corral. If your estimated pace is in the middle of the drop down choices, then you will have a middle corral.

Given , it's not timed and yes they are ALOT more liberal with the time constraints they DO sweep people. I sat next to a woman on the bus last year who said she has been swept twice. Now I don't know that for a fact, she could have lied but I don't know why you would volunteer that info and make it up. Youll probably be just fine but I just wanted @Capang to still keep an eye on the time

I haven’t seen anyone swept on a 5K before. I could see it if you were like doing an hour mile or something maybe.
