We were there Jan 1-5, staying at Wilderness Lodge, 2 adults and 2 disney "adults" on DDP.

TS meals were at:
Chef Mickey's
Boma
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Ohana
We had to ask each time about the alcoholic beverages, it definitely wasn't being advertised. But when we did we were told we could get anything. Except at Boma (the wine flight was not included). DDs could get virgin options of drinks (eg Pina Coloda). Smoothies & milkshakes (with the exception of WCC) weren't available. One daughter doesn't do fruity stuff so she was able to get specialty coffee drinks.

QS meals were at:
Roaring Fork/Geyser Point
DLuxe Burger
Cptn Cooks
Art of Animation food court
DH was able to choose from a variety of beer everywhere but for myself who doesn't like beer, my options were limited to wine. The exception was AoA where they had lots of different pre-mixed, bottled, alcoholic drinks (I had a mudside).
At Geyser Point our only option was draft beer; we were not allowed to order drinks from the lounge/bar.

Overall, we came out ahead using the DDP this time but not sure if we would do it everytime.

So were smoothies & milkshakes just not on the menus for your TS? Or do you mean they were on there, but excluded?

At Captain Cook's there was only beer and wine? No other bottled alcoholic drinks? That's a bummer since that's where we're staying LOL.

Correct, at the restaurants we went too smoothies and milkshakes were not available (except for DLuxe Burger and Whispering Canyon Cafe). If they were on the menu, then they would have been included. But out of 8 meals, they were only available at 2.

Yes, in Cptn Cook's there was only beer and wine., same with the QS at Wilderness Lodge. I'm not a fan of either so I was a little disappointed but my DH benefited from it!

Thanks! I heard you can use the QS dining plan at the poolside grill too, which has a great drink menu. I may have to go there for my food LOL. I don't drink beer or wine.

Just to confirm, milkshakes were included at DLuxe? Including the alcoholic ones? This is one of the places that would not let you get them in previous years with the plan.

Milkshakes were included in the plan but not the alcoholic ones. I think there were mainly draft beer options, and perhaps wine (I had a hard apple cider). We had to use a snack credit for the fries.

Not on DDP but I ate breakfast at the Wave this morning and when the manager asked if he could do anything for us I said well....... So can I get alcohol at breakfast if I use the DDP. He said absolutely, you can get any drink that they serve. So if you get the breakfast buffet, it includes coffee, juice or milk or all 3. Plus, you can get an alcoholic beverage on top of that.

I know this has been a question what about meals that include the drink with the meal? It appears at the Wave you can get both alcoholic and non-alcholic, if you order the buffet.

Now that I think about it, I recall the server at Boma telling my daughter she could have a soft drink and a virgin pina coloda, which she did, and we weren’t charged anything extra.

Try asking at the Poly if they will let you purchase the pineapple separately (you'd likely have to pay for it off-plan)

We used QS at the Oasis Pool bar last year and I'm hoping we still can this year, especially because they have great drinks. I guess I will find out in a little over a week!

The WDW site clearly states that outside of your QS or TS meal "Alcoholic beverages may only be redeemed with a Quick-Service or Table-Service meal entitlement." I personally wouldn't burn a dining credit on just a single drink, unless it's some seriously expensive wine...(Even then, I believe most of the responders here have discovered the price threshold is around ~$20)

I am New to the DIS Forum!! However I have been reading the updates to the dining plans for a couple of weeks now!

My Family and I have reservations for the week of Valentine's Day 2018, and we are signed up for the DxDP. I just wanted to take a beat and Thank you all for the useful information! I'm going to do my best to keep an eye on the DIS Boards during the time leading up to our trip, to see if I can answer any questions that may still remain at that time!
