Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

Just thought I'd share.. Tim & Jenn Tracker did a tour of the Swan & Dolphin on their vlog. Looks like they were invited to the grand opening of the bar at the Dolphin.

I watched this over the weekend-and am now super interested in this place. I've read they offer AP discounts...is this still true? Trying to catch up reading through this thread. We're planning on a weekend visit to the flower and garden show in April 2018 and this place seems perfect if I can get a bit of a deal. It looks like the Dolphin is $333+/night and the Swan is $300+/night for the most basic room available. Rough estimates or past offers would be great-I'm struggling to track anything concrete down.

AP discount is 5%, which I believe is the same as AAA and AARP. The AP rate must be booked directly with the resort, not online. Extra charges to the room rate are daily resort fee of $28, parking (if you have a car), and of course, taxes.

Depending on projected occupancy, the rates can fluctuate, including reductions. So, it pays to check back, on a regular basis, especially as you approach the check-in date. Like Disney, there is a minimum 5 day cancellation notice, unless you book a prepaid rate, which cannot be cancelled.

so I guess it depends on your interpretation on "fixed ".

MDE still shows all 4 ressies and 14 people!!! Crazy! What they did was put 1 family member on each ressie and now I have 10 people as "ghosts" on my friends and family list. They assigned them "Guest A" "Guest B" etc. so that is how they show up. They said all that was important is that my immediate family is there and I will be able to make ADR's without a problem. Tomorrow morning at 6 am should be interesting
Let us know how you're able to do!

So excited for the new lobby offerings! The grab & go in the lobby is a great option.. no more trekking all the way down to Picabu for a drink/something quick to eat. I wish they would have said what some of the prices were on the grab & gos... oh well... 12 more days!!!

Has anyone used the "Room Request" option on the website? I completed it a couple weeks ago, never received any kind of response so wondering if I need to call as well.

**UPDATE: I just called, because the website says if you don't receive a response in 72 hours to call. They had all of my requests annotated on my reservation.

While we are talking room requests, is it helpful to remind them of SPG status when using the online form? Or is that more likely to turn off customer service?

Planning a family trip for August of next year. Looking at the Swan but have a couple of questions:
1. My oldest DD is a Pre-K teacher at a private school - would she qualify for the Teacher discount? We also have AAA so just not sure which would be a better deal
2. We are a family of 4 adults but may have one more 20-something year old with us which would make it 5. Do they have a suite which could accommodate or would we have to book 2 separate rooms and request adjoining or connecting?

TIA!!

It stated that the resort fee was included in what I posted-or at least I assumed that's what the first service package charge was.

Thanks for the AP discount of 5% info. Less than I was hoping... but I'll keep an eye on it. Wanted to splurge a little to be close to Epcot, but not that much for three nights.

I don't think you need to remind them - that is something they definitely pay attention to if you have status.
Yes, as said, they are always aware of SPG status. I am gold and everytime I make a call to guest services while I am there or touch base with the front desk where they have to bring up my account, they always, without exception, thank me for my gold status. They are aware, very much so.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I really like the new look of the Dolphin lobby. And Fuel looks like a super great addition. Wish they'd something like that at the Swan. Java Bar is good, but not that good compared to Fuel. Guess I will just have to walk over.

I felt like I was watching Jersey Boys musical with the singing accompaniment.

That should be no problem for making ADRs, but you probably need to get the names correct before making FP+ at 60 days. When I had this happen before, calling the Swan/Dolphin was how I got it fixed. I had numerous "ghost" reservations from every time I changed a date through SPG and only adults were listed. They fixed it.

Thanks! My DH is Gold. We'd already spent some extra points to get a Grand Deluxe balcony room, and I'm hoping his Gold benefit of getting a room upgrade (subject to availability) will move us up in priority to get the view we prefer.

so just as many others have said on this thread I was only able to make dining for 180 NOT 180 + 10 both on the computer and over the phone so Day 1 is complete, Tokyo dining for 21 people, tomorrow is the golden ticket, CRT, praying I have some luck!! The CM said I have to call every day at 7 am at the 180 mark so the rest of this week should be interesting....just need to take it 1 day at a time.....

Thanks for this tip!!! Just to clarify call the hotel directly, not Starwood correct????

Hi all! I canceled my stay at the Dolphin 11/3-11/5 because I was able to get in to WL. When updating MDE, I can't seem to delete the Dolphin reservation. It does note an error, but will it let me update eventually? Any tips?

Call Disney IT.

It takes at least a day for any cancelled Swan or Dolphin bookings to drop off from MDE, just like it takes at least a day for them to show up. Give it a few business days to update.
