I booked an aoa suite and a Cabin and there was less than $100 difference, I don't know which one to keep
How much time do you plan on spending in the room? How far could the farthest cabin be from a bus or the check in, what ammenities do they have and lastly what does the rest of your party think?

and for our many QS - can't we also buy 6 QS for a family of 4 if we can't decide? we aren't limited to the number in our party, right?

Correct. You can buy as many as you want at every meal. At our last trip in September, there were several times we bought 3 meals for our family of 5 (kids were 16, 13, 10, so not little) and couldn't even finish! Many QS meals are really large portions. Especially the create-your-own pasta. SO MUCH! LOL.

I booked 2 room at POR in January(with hopes of getting free dining) under Disney's old pricing. If availability opens up for FD in the same room category as my current reservation will I have to pay the cost increase when Disney raised their prices?

It was one of the things that kinda priced us into staying with the quick service. This way we don't have to stay together as a group so if one person isn't feeling good they can head back to the room and don't have to worry about making a reservation. No added cost for the tips. We can park hop and not have to worry about having to be somewhere. It frees up our days. We can enjoy the Food and Wine festival and not have to worry if we can or can't have something because we have a meal soon...
I think I'm totally in your boat on keeping QS

have you found being close to main building noisy? We will have car and not eating at food court. But maybe if we are that close we will get coffee and breakfast a few times. Note to self do it before pop warner gets there!
No we didn't have any issues with noise. In fact I don't think I have ever heard anything at music in the rooms. It's the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in. We have stayed on all the floors and in three separate buildings during different trips. The way our room faced last year we did hear the fireworks from Hollywood studios, but you could also see them perfectly. We watched them about three times from right outside our door. Also you park very close to your room so it makes having a car even better.

We have CBR w/ GCs but with only the pirate rooms available (so far, I'm still hopeful though) I'm looking at about $1000 more to stay in CBR vs. Sports. Even with the GCs it's about $500 more expensive. That's probably about the cost of two out of five of us flying down. While I'd love to try a mod, I can't justify that much extra.

There were a couple more options when I just looked. I called in and Standard wasn't available online but the CM could get it, so even that little change saved just over $100 for an 11 day trip.

and seriously, our party of 9 will have 108 QS and 108 snack credits over 6 nights - only 5 days in park and 1 night and MVMCP

that's a lot of free food!!

That is a predicament. To us for the time of year we're going we love having the amenities that the moderates provide vs the values, even though we've never tried a value in the past 5 years we've gone so far.
For us, having those extras is worth any extra cost for us, especially when we stay at our favorite POFQ resort. But with all that said, it's only because we can afford it.

If I were you, I would stay put if you can afford it and if it won't ruin your trip if you do have to spend that $500 more than you want. If you can't get past any of those hurdles either financially or mentally then maybe you should consider the values while they are available. From my understanding, those are harder to acquire down the road, especially now since you don't get a better FD package with the moderates this year. I have no way to prove or basis, but I think you'd have a good chance to move to a different room at CBR if you're persistent and patient. I also know you lose the value of staying at CBR if you leave and lose your gift cards and then trying to come back if more CBR rooms become available.

I passed on FD this morning when opened because I wasn't willing to stay in a Pirate room at CBR or any room category at CSR. My other hard stop was if required to do 4 park days. It sucked but I moved on thinking I'll see what RO discounts would be available in the future and try for that. Then this afternoon I got pixie dust that I hope you and yours get as well. Basically what I'm trying to say is only you can decide what you are willing to pay and stay at, but I was willing to pass on the savings of $200-$500 to be where it seems I'll be happy at and relaxed on my Disney vacation.

I believe so. I'm like 85% sure, all new pricing will apply. If you have tickets attached to those rooms, those also went up after January.

Well, so far I'm bummed. Both FD and the room offer is not available for a 2 week stay in early Septermber at Pop. I've been the past several Septembers and have never had trouble. I'll just keep checking and hope that some availability opens up.

I'm kind of disappointed with Disney Visa. i got it specifically because i heard of the "perks" of early FD and RO notifications and it looks like they are WAY behind the curve. :( At least they still let you collect points for a gift card.

I received my email from them at 1:09 pm today. LOL. I'd already booked through the Visa link for my room (well my TA had)

I was able to book WL and AK with FD. But really wanted Poly, BC or YC. Now I have to see which one I am going to keep or maybe just keep checking daily for one of the others to open up.

I am so disappointed my TA didnt wait ait
Before Changing my cbr to different resort !!!

Can you maybe wait for the craziness to die down, then contact Disney guest services and see if they can reinstate your old reservation? Since it wasn't you who cancelled it, maybe they might try to sprinkle some pixie dust on you?

That is SUCH a big screw up that I would look into contacting the agency your TA works for and try to get them to replace the GC if they can't get your original reservation back.
