Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

The path is always open. The pool is beside Port Royale, and fenced off. No matter where you are on property, the pool wouldn't be an issue.

Thank you so much for your reply! For some reason I had the idea that the pool was on the island :rolleyes1 Good to know that the pathway is always open. :cutie:

If you book a King Room it's going to be extremely difficult to get a true view of the lake. Your best shot would be to book a Water View Room and request a lake view as Water View Rooms will have a view of one of the leisure pools OR the lake. There are no rooms that are double classified as King Water View. A room will be EITHER a King or a Water View. There are a very few King rooms that will give you a small glimpse of the Lake, but not a true Lake View. There are the exact same amount of King rooms in each building and they are in pretty much the same locations in each of the buildings with the same shape.

The buildings that have the best chance of getting a King Room with somewhat of a view of the Lake are:

Trinidad North 32
Martinique 25 and 22
Barbados 11 and 15
Aruba 52 and 55
Jamaica 42 and 45

As @IrishNYC stated, the bridge and path from Jamaica/Aruba is always open.

Thank you so much for this information! I knew that it was impossible to book a King Water View, but was just hoping to book a king and request a lake view. Kind of a bummer that there's no true "lake view" for me!! I do prioritize a King bed over a water view, my hubby is 6'4"!!! :cutie: If I book a king, what would you recommend my other requests be in order to secure one of the "partial lake views" you describe? We don't particularly care about long walks to transportation or to Port Royale. :thanks:

Hi!

We just got back (or about 10 days ago) from CBR and we loved it. Here is summary for anyone who wants more info:

We were assigned to the room in Barbados, but asked if we could be in Jamaica/Martinique/Aruba and got a room 4639. No murphy bed. had a connecting door.
It is facing the parking lot, but we had our window closed most of the time, so it didn't really bother us.
The room was super super close to the bus stop, so we loved it. The only downside was that we sometimes can hear next door ppl using their washrooms.

The room was good size for our 2 week stay. The storage space wasn't generous, but we managed through. There is no such a thing as closet, but the hanging rack is in the washroom by the sink. There were 7 hangers, so we brought about 10 extra from home, which helped a lot.

Got our luggage including a box (shipped water, Gatorade, and juice packs - because we didn't want to buy them from Old Port Royale and carry them back) delivered to the room no problem.

Food court wasn't bad and they let us get anything - like yogurt parfait, which was very good - instead of drink.
The pool was great and the pool side bar had good virgin pina colada and strawberry daiquiri that we can get for snack credits.

On the first day (Dec 11), we went to Old Port Royale to get 1/2 gallon of milk and the expiry dates were either Dec 11, 12 or 13th for ALL the milk!! Shocked, we decided to check other resorts (was going to Boma for dinner) and the same for AKL!!! We ended up buying it and ran a small test to check if the milk was bad or not before drinking it, but wasn't happy with it.
Other times (we bought milk 3 times total), the expiration dates weren't issue. It costed us just little less than $4.00 ($3.93 or something like that) and Old Port Royale didn't have a box of cereal, so we bought one from Contemporary. It was expensive ($5.19, I think) for a small box. There were only like 3 different types, so not a lot of choices, and they all costed the same, so we got the Frozen one and it was well worth it.

As for the transportation, we had issue once - going to AK, we waited 40 minutes. The annoying thing was the schedule (on TV) kept on changing every now and then! We got to the bus stop at 8:37AM and it says the bus will come at 8:50AM. We waited for 10 minutes, it changes to 8:55AM, then another few minutes, it changed to 9:03AM, then 9:07AM, then, 9:15AM, then 9:20, etc. It was really annoying as we saw 3 AK buses leaving the property, but not coming to our bus stop!! (I think they were full before hitting us, but at least send 1 bus to Jamaica first.) During that 40 minutes, I think we saw like 6 MK buses, 4 Epcot, 3 HS, 2 Internal resort and 3 DS. We were very frustrated, but the day went well. Anyways, so a few days later, when we were heading to Epcot and saw the next Epcot bus will arrive in 18 minutes, we decided to walk to Trinidad South and got on the Epcot bus in 3 mins wait that left the property right away.
Other than that, I think we waited max 10 mins for any destinations.

Yes, it takes time to go around all the bus stops - as Jamaica being the first stop most of the times, we were able to time how long it takes to go around the resort before it heads out and it varied from 8 to 13 minutes - but we didn't mind it very much.
Although, it was rather painful to go to the waterpark, mini-golf, other resorts for dinners, but overall, it was a good trip. My DH said he would like to go back to CBR and would like to stay in the same building! But next time, we may rent a car or Uber for non-park days.

Hope everyone who is planning find it helpful!

Hi everyone, just wondering what area/building numbers you would suggest for our upcoming trip in March!! We are a party of 7 and we have requested connecting rooms (do you think this is a good possibility)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TYIA

Has anybody ever moved the little seating bench in the rooms into the bathroom sink area? I'm curious if it will fit... basically under where you hang clothes is what I'm thinking.
We'll have to set up a pack n play for our 1 year old and I've been trying to look at pictures and get an idea of how to make it work. We'll be in a king bed room. We made it work with a pack n play in our room at Pop Century in September but we weren't able to use the table and chairs because we didn't want to take it down everyday. I know the rooms at CBR are bigger so we shouldn't have a problem.

Hey guys! I am looking into CBR for my trip in Spring 2018 and I am so excited about it. We love the option to book a king bed room, and prefer the theming here versus the PO resorts.

You're going to love this place. When in the spring are you going? I am hoping to be at CBR for late April 2018 myself.

Am I the only one who likes Barbados? I love that it's easily walkable from the Customs House so you don't have to deal with the internal shuttle (and therefore bell services)!

Sadly, somehow no matter how many times I request it, I always seem to get assigned to Jamaica 45 though. LOL. (And last time it was so late when I got there I didn't want to deal with trying to get it changed. For my upcoming August trip though, unless it's that there is nothing available during my stay, I'll wait to get in the room.)

I liked Jamaica 46. We were close to Old Port Royale (and there is a playground, so works nicely for our DD) and the bus stop.
The room I stayed had a connecting door to the corner room.

We moved that little bench near the door, right in front of the connecting door (so it blocks the door, which was not needed anyways) and put the pack n play for our DD. There still were plenty of room.

We thought about moving it to the bathroom area (where you are thinking right now), but we had one suitcase that we needed to access constantly, and the bathroom area was rather tight, so we just moved it close to the door and it worked out nicely. I don't think you'll have an issue. :)

We actually walked from the Customs house to Jamaica and it was a nice easy walk. :)
The only reason we asked to switch from Barbados was due to the distance to Old Port Royale and the playground in the island.

We went with 9 people and asked for 3 connecting/adjoining rooms. Got it with no problems in Trinidad North. Not saying that you will get it, but WDW tries their best to make it happen.

Thank you for your input! Being close to a playground would also be ideal!

That does make me feel better.....we just couldn't go with a 2 bedroom as the price was that much more. Hoping this will make it "feel" like a 2 bedroom!

(1) If I only had a dime for every post I have read that mentions waiting for a particular bus (fill in any resort here) and see a bunch for other parks.:rotfl2:

(2) Thanks for posting the time for all bus stops. I have read some ridiculous times from frustrated posters and figured it may have been exaggerated:) I know it would be longer with scooters etc. 13 minutes is not bad at all.

Yes. It was just only 1 day, and we were there for 14 days. So I guess it is unavoidable given SO MANY ppl complaint about it. lol

It may get longer. As Jamaica being almost always the first stop (except from DS, I think), we were always the first ones to get off the bus. So, it may take longer to unload people after the park closes and there are multiple buses clustered in one bus stop, etc. But in the morning, it wasn't too big of an issue (Disney Transportation informed us that there are 2 routes in CBR: Route A for one side, Route B for another side. If it gets full, then it leaves the property at the end of each Route, I think.) and during the less busy times (10AM to 4PM), it does the full circle, but as I mentioned, doesn't take very long.
Yes, wheelchairs takes a LONG time to load, but I also think there are maximum scooter capacity per bus, so they can't load more than 1 or 2 scooters.

I forgot to type in that you can add our family to this as well. When my DDs ask why this happens, all I can tell them is someone is not doing their job correctly:) I also get a kick out of the bus time board. I find it more aggravating then "not" knowing when the buses are "suppose" to come.

I would just note that the more requests you put on, the harder it will be for the room assigner. If connecting is the most important (it's never guaranteed), to be honest I'd just have that be the only request. If you DO want to request a village but connecting is the most important, make sure that you prioritize the requests.

We were there in Sept 16 and Sept 13 as a party of 7. We requested connecting rooms and Jamaica 45 for both trips. In 2013 we checked in and had been assigned connecting rooms in Barbados, we politely asked if there was anything in Jamaica and were moved to Jamaica 44. In 2016 we received connecting rooms in Jamaica 44. Even though we request connecting rooms, I still always request an area too. What type of room did you book? We book standard, which is why Jamaica 45 is my go to request. I call in my requests and also send a fax in.

Good Morning - We booked a standard room. I think that our first hope would be to have the connecting rooms. I want this to be the best vacation ever as we are travelling with a family who has never been to Disney and this is their one and only trip. I want to make sure that it is as magical as can be - that's why I am hoping for a good location as well.....
Thank you for your response.

I think that the connecting room option is my number one option....so maybe I will call and make that as my priority? I just don't want to be in Trinidad South!
