We should start a Disneyland Cake Thread

I just may have to order myself a cake for my 9/11 birthday. It'll be my first time at DL, too!

Ordered a cake from Disney Dining for my sons Bday at BB.
6 inch chocolate with vanilla custard filling, buttercream over fondant.
The cake was moist everyone was happy.
Called Disney Dining to arrange and asked for some special decorations and a pastry chef emailed and called same day. we emailed back and forth a few times to share ideas and confirm. I did double check everything a few days before our trip for piece of mind. Everything went fine the cake was brought out by the waitress right after dinner.

musthavecoffee how much was that cake? its really cute.

How was the flavor of the fondant? I always love how it look but not always how it tastes. A couple years ago my son got a custom cake from a local place and it was made to look like a giant xbox remote and it was gorgeous and the cake itself was good, but the fondant...well there was a lot 11 year olds picking fondant off their cake. My son on the other hand munched it down since he would eat spoonfuls of sugar as a afternoon snack if I let him.

The cake was about $80, the fondant, and extra figure on the top (one included and $12 each additional) totally drove the price up.

I feel you on the fondant I always love the look!! It was thinner and more stretchy but not as chewy as other fondant I've had (idk if that makes sense :confused3)DH said way too sweet, I was ok with it since I love sweet things, and my DS3 devoured it. Which I was suprised by because he picked it off a cake we had just last week.

An Xbox cake sounds awesome! I think for those form cakes fondant always looks best, but I bet it's disheartening when you spend all that $$ and see the kids picking it off...

which table service restaurants can you have your cake delivered to? Many people have said they got cakes at blue bayou, carthay, and steakhouse 55 but I was wondering if they would also deliver it to other tables service places like cafe orleans. I'm thinking i'll go with blue bayou but, with the price hike of the halloween parties I want to weigh all the options and make sure my budget is workable.

Does anyone happen to know if you have a cake delivered to Napa Rose will they send the leftovers up to your room?

I'm wondering if I'll need to balance it on my scooter to take it to the room, or if I can have it delivered for me. :-)

Anywhere that takes dining reservations, you can have a cake delivered.

Nothing wrong with buying your own cake.. That way you get exactly what you want. We are planning to spend my birthday at Disneyland so I will definitely take care of ordering my own also then my DH won't feel bad if I don't like it, because it's all on me! :cake::bday:

I've ordered an anniversary cake for hubby and I to be delivered to our room at GCV on August 17th. I've asked for a nautical, underwater themed cake with marble with vanilla custard and fresh raspberries on a 6" cake. They quoted me $56. I have super high hopes and will post pictures as soon as I can.

I called the Disneyland floral and gifts line , I believe when they answered they said it was the dream makers line (if that makes any difference) and asked if I could have the champagne celebration with the chocolate dipped strawberries look like the strawberries they are offering for the afternoon tea for Halloween time, which are a jack skellington tuxedo and an orange Jack skellington face instead of the regular tuxedo they offer, his answer was no, I could not have custom strawberries, they only offer tuxedo. I don't understand if they can custom make a cake , why they couldn't do that to a dessert? Did I just speak to the wrong person? Anyone know the direct line to the bakery or a manager I can speak with? This is more of a surprise for my kids and I'm getting them sparkling apple cider option, I think regular tuxedo strawberries are more for a romantic celebration and I'm trying to celebrate Halloween time :)

Maybe try calling Disney Dining? tel(714)781-3463
If they wont help maybe try calling Disneyland hotel directly since that's where the Halloween Tea is being held... if you are staying at the Disneyland resort hopefully they will help out...

Yea! I just ordered my birthday cake to be delivered to the Blue Bayou. I ordered red velvet cake with a cream cheese and butter creme frosting covered by fondant with a nightmare before christmas theme, fondant in black and purple with Jack as my topper. I cant wait to see it!

that sounds so awesome!!! i cant wait to see pictures. what size did you order and how much did they quote you on price? I'm probably going to be ordering a cake for my birthday and I wish they had more pictures/pricing available to look at.

I ordered a 6 inch. I almost went with the 10 but...that's a lot of cake to store in our in room mini fridge. The cost is 68 dollars

Im planning to walk it back to my room at Desert Inn after dinner. We have a reservation for 4:50 (the latest you could make since its a party night but we aren't attending that party) at BB but I have heard that you have to wait a bit to be seated so i'm guessing we will be seated by 5:15 and done and out the door by 6:15 which is just after the party will have begun so we will likely be sent on our merry way out of disneyland. then I'll drop of the cake and head to DCA with the rest of the non party crowds

I can't wait to see pictures! I haven't ordered our cakes yet. We haven't gotten together to decide on restaurants yet. We'll be doing that soon. I want to order one really nice cake for our first night, to celebrate all of our birthdays. I also want to order a small, special cake for my daughter's actual birthday, which falls in the middle of our trip. She's turning 10, so I want to make a big deal for her turning "double digits".
