Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Just changed to this hotel for our October 1-5th trip from The Beach Club to get free dining! We got a standard room. Can anyone advise as to what rooms would be great to ask for in terms of view. Thanks so much! Now on to read 158 pages of this thread!

We had to add a night to keep our water view room category and get free dining for our December trip, so we're now staying 12/17 - 23. I'm not a bit sad to get to Disney World and the Boardwalk a day earlier!!

We just got back from our stay at Boardwalk Villas. We had a studio- room 4060. The sudio was refurbished and worked out very well for my family of 4. My girls fought over who got to sleep on the murphy bed and the pull out couch was surprisingly very comfortable. We overlooked the Luna Park Pool and could see the Hollywood Studios fireworks at night. It was close to the elevator too, which was handy. The balcony was a solid wall. I would have preferred a open balcony- but the wall was nice for the chilly mornings.
We absolutely loved this resort! It was so nice to walk to Epcot (our favorite park) and Hollywood Studios. It was nice to come back to the Boardwalk at night and have a funnel cake and watch street performers. The girls loved the community center and the quiet pool.
The only complaint I have is the bus service was very slow. It took us a half hour to get a bus to Magic Kingdom in the morning. At least we didn't have to take the bus that much.
Glad you had a good trip!! Did you make a special room request to get that room? I would love a view of the HS fireworks!

we just got back and stayed in Room 5278 - this was a fabulous view of Epcot (Eiffel Tower, Spaceship earth) and could see Illuminations from our balcony. Any rooms by that would be the same - Request 5th Floor E Facing (ie 5766-5282 I believe). I posted a picture maybe 2 pages back

 Hi Blue. Single digit dance.:dance3:

Have a great time and I'll be waiting to read all about it.

We are currently booked for our first stay at BWI in June for 2 nights before we go to kidani. We are currently in a standard room. It is me, DH and 3DD (11&14).

We appreciate club level and I am thinking about changing the reservation to a deluxe club level room. I am curious if these room types are near the lounge? We like to be somewhat close to the food and beverages

I think I have read that the Inn Keppers lounge is on the 4th floor?

TIA

The deluxe rooms are very nice. They are located on the third and fourth floors so request fourth floor. You will not be guaranteed but the third floor balconies are worth a trip up the stairs!!

Just returned yesterday from a long weekend stay at BWV. Had standard room 2109, it was refurbished and had one large shared balcony. The new wood floor is not as nice looking in person, ours was very dull looking. The new fold out couch was used by my MIL and she had no complaints, said it was quite comfortable. We arrived at 11am and I hadn't received any texts yet. They gave us a choice of what they had available when we reached the front desk, which was nice.

With all the work done to the rooms, I was sad to find that the toilet seat looked so old it could have dated back to the hotel's opening in 1996. All other refurb aspects were very nice.

I will say that now that the studios sleep 5, it's kind of ridiculous that the 1BR only sleeps 4. It's also kind of goofy that so much space in the 1BR is taken up by that huge tub. I'd much rather have a second shower and a second toilet. Even if it was just two people staying in the 1BR, you'd be able to simultaneously get ready. With 3 or 4 people, the value of the second shower or toilet only goes up, and I would assume most parties staying in the 1BR are 3 or 4 people.

Noise from the parking lot construction area was slightly annoying out on the balcony in the afternoons, but this was the BWV side facing onto the front driveway entrance/bridge/fountain, so I wasn't surprised and it was no issue with the balcony doors closed. Otherwise, no noise of any type was noticeable. Flying Fish and the former Seashore Sweets is still walled off with work happening. The ESPN arcade becoming Ample Hills Creamery (still can't believe Disney is letting that double entendre name happen) seems to be coming along well, the sign was up and being tested our first day there.

Finally, I was disappointed to find that the pizza from the pizza window was the same old pizza even though Trattoria al Forno had moved in to the Kouzzina spot. I was hoping for an upgrade since it was an Italian place, and I thought al Forno was also run by the Patina Group that operates Via Napoli/Tutto Italia/Tutto Gusto, and those are our favorite places to eat in Epcot. I guess expecting Via Napoli-level pizza from the window was a big reach on my part.

Also the first time we've tried the Resort Airline Check In (we rented a car, didn't use Magical Express), which was awesome and so easy to deal with.

The theming, atmosphere, and ability to walk to two parks will continue to make the Boardwalk our favorite WDW resort!

We have a reservation at BWI standard view Oct 5-8 for our 20th Wedding anniversary. We will be doing a couple days of F&W before we go on a 7 night DCL cruise. With the discounts out today decided to move to BWV Deluxe Studio Standard View to say $400.00. Decided that cost savings were worth it for us. My husband does not care where we stay or what our view is. Very excited to try this resort for the first time. :yay:

Nice move and I'll add your dates to our log.

Welcome! Don't forget about all the hyperlinks in POST 1. They might save you some time reading every page;)

Standard View at BWI encompasses every view except a BoardWalk/Crescent Lake view. Many like to request an "Epcot View" and high floor, such as the 5th.

The sacrifices we make:laughing:. I'll edit your dates in the Bulletin.

Quoting myself because I ended up switching to Yacht Club.

You're still on Crescent Lake;)

Love Figment - nice choice. Can't wait to read your reports - happy travels!

Thank you for posting about your recent stay at BWV. It's nice that you reported about the good and the bad. I think it helps guests know better what to expect.

I'm guessing that the "wood" is a laminate? That's what they installed in the WL rooms and gym so my guess is that's the norm now. Funny about the double entendre, which I didn't notice until you pointed it out:)

60 days today! Made our FP+. It is cold and rainy here today so I'm excited to think of FL in late June. Crazy I know but I'm tired of wearing sweaters - bring on the heat!

So I may have ch-ch-changed my summer trip :duck:but I saved money and I was able to keep CL. I will be at Poly. I will admit that BWI CL is my first choice, but thanks to many changes I manage to change myself out of available rooms...My TA pointed out I am now booked at exactly the same place I was in the first booking :rolleyes1 But I am still here and staying here to read all about upcoming visits. @Blue Skies and @mexi BRING ON THE BOARDWALK PICS :grouphug:

I've never stayed at the Poly but maybe one day I'll tear myself away from the BWI. Maybe a split sometime....hmmmm.

I'll most certainly be posting a few pics. I'm very excited to see the new ice creamery and to try a few flavors while I'm there of course. @BlueSkies is up first and I'm looking forward to hearing all about the trip.

I'll have to look over on the Poly thread to hear about your trip. It will be here before you know it.:yay:

Question on breakfast items for our room. Now that we are staying in the studio which has a microwave and toaster, my husband thought it would be great to have breakfast in the room. Just toasted bagels, yogurt, fruit and coffee. Do they have a small grocery section at the resort, or should we plan to go to Boardwalk Bakery to get breakfast stuff for our room? We are taking Magical Express to the resort and will only be there 3 nights before our cruise so do not need a full grocery order. Thanks!

There's a decent grocery selection at Screen Door gift shop I think it's called. :)
