Hope you are feeling better, even being sick you seemed to be getting around.

I'm at CSR now. Unfortunately, I've had a nasty cold that isn't letting up, so I've been at the resort more than planned.

The good - beautiful grounds. All but one CM have been very nice and helpful; the one grumpy CM seemed to just be having a bad day. The buses have been quick and not even half full, both to and from the parks. Since I've been sick, I only closed one park, AK on Sunday, and our bus had maybe 7 people on it from AK. But I have been going for rope drop yesterday and today, and the buses haven't been busy at all. The longest I waited was 10 minutes. Also, Panchitos has been a godsend with the cold meds and throat lozenges, unfortunately!

The pools are very nice. I wish there was a hot tub at the quiet pool because it was very busy at the Dig site yesterday, but that's ok. I swam a little in the quiet pool, but it hurt my ears, so I mostly sunned. The quiet pool wasn't crowded, but it wasn't quiet - the few children and adults in the pool found it necessary to yell to others in their parties walking around. Not the resort's fault, but it was obnoxious.

The bad - I'm in Ranchos 7A. While I like that it's secluded and not crowded, it's a long walk to El Centro, especially when I had to carry my bags the day I arrived. The CM who checked me in told me to walk around the lake by the Casitas; I timed it, it's actually faster for me to walk across the bridge by the Cabanas to get to 7A.

I find the building layout confusing. I am still getting used to where the elevators and stairs are (I'm on the second floor).

Mousekeeping has been fine, though I've noticed a few unclean spots here and there. I've been tipping $2/night.

I didn't think it would bother me to see the conventioneers, but it does. Maybe it's because I have two big conferences coming up for my work. They have been very visible with their name tags and using the morning buses to go to the convention center. Last night, they took up all the seating at Laguna Bar by the lake. However, Pepper Market was nearly deserted.

I've only eaten at Pepper Market once, and I was not impressed. Granted, I have a rotten cold and my taste buds are off, but the nachos were kinda gross. The chicken tortilla soup was fine. Since I'm feeling so bad, I'm going to order in tonight, and then hopefully I can eat in the parks the rest of the time. I brought food for breakfast.

My room's fridge doesn't seem cold enough, though I lowered the temp. It's quite noisy when it's cooling, too. My TV doesn't get a signal on several channels, including the Disney and WDW channels.

I'm glad I tried out this resort, the timing just sucks for staying somewhere that is so remote from the main hall when I'm sick. Still, I don't think I will stay here again. If I did, I would pay for a preferred location away from the parking lot. I'm near Bus Stop 3, but that means I hear the buses beeping every time they let people off, including late at night.

I was able to apply the bounce back offer to my existing reservations this fall at POR and YC, so I saved over $500 there!

Do the movie selections change from month to month?

Correct

We're the first week of May so we may not know what's going on until we get there.

If you're there on the 1st then I would say that you'll have no way of knowing but sites like the one mentioned or others do a good job getting each month's listings up pretty quick.

We are staying at CSR in 6 days. Last Wed. we got an e-mail from Disney Destinations telling us about our resort with a link to the recreation calendar for our stay which had the pool activities and the movies listed. If your stay is the first of the month I still think they will send you a link to the recreation calendar that will be in effect for your stay.

That's cool! Good to know!

Hi All! We are considering trying CSR for our 2015 trip so I've read through all 250+ pages of this thread and got so much amazing info! Thanks so much to everyone who submits - it's so helpful!

My question is probably a really odd one - I love Mexican food, but I am a total wuss when it comes to spice :scared: When I make it at home I can control the spice, and when I have it "out" I am a big fan of the "Taco Bell level of spice" rather than the "authentic Mexican level of spice"! Basically I love the flavours, but don't want all the heat.

Would anyone be able to tell me what the mexican food at Pepper Market and Maya grill would be like heat wise? And if it IS really spicy, can you ask for them to "tame" it down a little?

Thanks so much for the help! I know this is a crazy concern, but I would LOVE to try the food!! :goodvibes

We were there last week and I had the chicken tortilla soup twice and it wasn't spicy at all. We also got the nachos a couple of times to share (beef both times) and they weren't spicy. My mom however, got a dish on Thursday that she said was pretty spicy, more than she likes it. I think it was a taco dish, but if I remember correctly, it was a flat tortilla. Not sure exactly what it was. They cook them to order so you might be able to tone down the spices if you'd like, unless they're premixed.

This was at Pepper Market - we didn't go to Maya Grill. The ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetables were also very good.

My wife thinks food is spicy if you add pepper, and she liked the food there

I am also a big wimp when it comes to spicy food. I ate at the restaurant and Pepper Market. The food at the restaurant was very spicy for me and the tacos as pepper market (the green sauce) was as well. My husband didn't think some things were bad that I did so I know its just my level of tolerance. Now the flavor was AMAZING.... just had to drink a ton of water lol

Can I have some help please? Regarding online check in.

I'm sure that at some point I read a reason not to, or why I actually couldn't, but can not remember at all why, now.

I am staying in May, we requested connecting rooms when we made our booking, which we had to do over the phone as we are in the UK.
I would like to be as close to El Centro as possible, as the pool isn't high on our priority list, but giving my children the freedom to grab their own drinks and snacks is.
Checking my invoice it says: "Conntng with <other res number> must be due to small chldn pfr nr man blg not gtd"
Now I don't even know what gtd means? But I see the preferences are there.

If I do, what request should I make, and when and how should I make it?

Should I do online check-in or is it not worth it?

I would really appreciate a word from the experts, if you could please :) Thanks.

I interpret that as: prefer near main building not guaranteed

I'm not sure you should do online check-in as it may override what they put on your invoice.

guaranteed! Aahh that's it, thank you :thumbsup2 You know what's funny is I'm sure I knew that before but my mind went blank tonight!

So your opinion is to just leave it as it is?

Thank you, that's put my mind at ease somewhat. This is only our second trip to WDW, and it's the first with me organising. I really appreciate the help!

Thank you so much pugrpooh, rustyfla and Princesspipermommy!!!

Your feedback is super helpful!! I'm definitely going to give it a try now!:cheer2:

Just booked our flights for our upcoming trip tonight. Another sigh of relief, with another thing checked off the to-do list.

I've been pretty quiet this past week. Sadly, my dad passed away unexpectedly last Sunday... was a major shock to my family. I'm still in a bit of a daze; just doesn't feel real...

I was questioning if we should cancel our trip, as I didn't know if I'd be up for it, or if it was the right thing to do. On the way to the funeral Friday morning, I was listening to the Billy Joel Sirius station (he was my dads favorite artist), and they played Only the Good Die Young, and his cover of When You Wish Upon a Star right after. I took that as a sign from my dad that he still wanted us to go. So, we shall!

I don't mean to share too much information, but I like talking to the folks in here, and I kind of wanted to share my little story. I hope that's okay.

Anyone gone during the late summer? I was wondering how crowded the resort would get around that time of year. I was looking at the conference schedule and it seems pretty light, but not sure if thats the only one's scheduled.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi CSR experts! We are booked from Oct 1-8 this year. This is our second trip as a family with our DD(6) & DD(3). This time we wanted to upgrade to a moderate and after much debate, review and video watching we decided on Coronado Springs. Looking forward to visiting this thread often to get ready. 176 days!
