Nick, Marie, The Diva's & Me!! Finally Finished 10-20-13!!

As Nick & Marie traveled on the Monorail towards Downtown Disney, I headed over to the DLH. We were going to meet up at Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast.

After checking in and paying, we were called in to do a photo with Chef Goofy.

We were shown to our table and the first character we got to see was Mulan!! This was the first time I had seen Mulan (not in a parade).

Time for some FOOD PORN!!!!!

More Food Porn!!!!

Next character was Rafiki.

Chef Pluto came for a visit.

One of my favorites~~~BALOO!!!!

So where we were seated we got to see the back of this Goofy's Kitchen sign.

I had no idea this was on the backside!!!!!

3 Adult Brunch Meals with tax & tip and the AP Discount~~$93.40 Huge buffet with lots of food choices, sure to cover even the pickiest of eaters.

I know. Considering this is the summer before senior year. Anyway, the Goofy's Kitchen pictures are good.

All of those Goofy's food pictures make me miss it there even more (and I'm still so bummed out that I missed it this past December)!

Because I'm usually an Autumn Goofy's diner (either around Halloween Time or early December), I like seeing the differences in some of the dishes they offer earlier in the year when I don't go there. There are definitely more 'lunch' items creeping onto the brunch scene over time - like the (what looks to be) rigatoni or whatever pasta that is. That specific pasta was not always part of the menu in the past. I see that the cobbler was there too, and I kind of associated that with more of a late Fall/Winter kind of thing.

I've never looked at the backside of the giant Goofy's Kitchen plate in front of the restaurant either, so that is fun to see in your picture! (Isn't it true that literally every trip to DLR will present you with some little detail you haven't seen before? The surprises seem to be endless!)

You should make a few smaller-sized versions of some of the great, extensive food photos (from any of your recent trips to Goofy's, Surf's Up or wherever) and add them to your outline post in the Character Meals Superthread! I think that showing some examples of a few of the dishes at the meals in your introduction post -- where you explain about each meal -- would be great and very informative!:thumbsup2

By the way, your Fantasmic! dessert package info is coming in handy - it's not something I've done or would even really be interested in, but it turns out that a few people in the Christmas Superthread are planning to book it for their upcoming holiday trips. So even though this particular TR you're working on now is not a holiday TR, I just linked one of the posts in it (about the F! package) in the Superthread because people were asking about how many days out you can book. I knew you had recently posted about it, so I quickly pulled up your TR, found the link to the F! section on the first page and copied it! Very, very helpful!:worship:

I know most of the trips, the food is pretty much the same, but the stuff back by the cooks offers new varieties each trip. Of course, they do have the new "Mac-n-Cheese" pizza. Sounds kinda icky, but actually.....it's pretty tasty!

Good idea on adding the pics to the Superthread....... I'll do that when I finally finish up this report.

I'm glad the info on the Fantasmic Dessert Seating is helping others!!

DD13 put the Goofy's mac-and-cheese into a baked potato (two of her favorite foods) and declared it amazing. Not sure about mac-and-cheese pizza though.

I know it doesn't sound right.....but it is actually pretty good.

Loved the latest installment and I have always loved GK. I have been for both breakfast and dinner and have always liked it. Not sure why some don't. Glad you had fun!!

:wave2:  Good to see you on here Michele!! :woohoo: :goodvibes

Thanx Kelly!!! Most of my experiences at GK have been positive, but we did have one bad one (and we had 10 of us that trip).....so a very EXPENSIVE bad experience. If you only go once and it's super loud or busy, or the food is being refreshed or you didn't see characters like other tables......you might not be a fan.

I know I'm super late to this party but I'm having a great time reading through your TR and had to tell you how much I loved this shot and how you can see Nick & Marie's reflection, I just thought it was really neat.

It's never too late to join in.......especially since I've been dragging my feet in getting this done.......lol :rolleyes1

I hadn't noticed their reflections in that picture until you pointed it out!!! COOLIO!!!!

After our breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen, we stopped by our room at the PPH and then headed over to DCA. We headed towards the Pier and stopped to see Duffy the Bear (pics in our photopass that I'll share later). After hugging Duffy, we noticed that Sailor Donald was in the Gazebo.....so we jumped in to see him!

We made our way down to the pier and Jessie was greeting guests, so Nick & Marie stopped to say hello. While I was waiting for them, I watched the cars on California Screamin' launch. All of a sudden I felt this sharp pain across the back of my calf........a little guy, smacked me with his plastic sword! The mom came & grabbed him and didn't say a word to me! I would have been mortified if my child had hit someone else & would have been apologizing like crazy.....thought it was quite rude....but whatevs...

We decided to do Toy Story Midway Mania. The ride kept "pausing", which drives me nuts.....but I did get some pics towards the end of the ride since we weren't moving.

Nick & Marie decided to ride Mickey's Death Wheel......OOPS!! I mean Mickey's Fun Wheel. Nick really loves Marie, because he's not a fan of heights (like his mama) but he rode it with her anyways.

As you can see, Marie was loving it.......Nick not so much!

He had Marie take another one, so it looked like he was enjoying it......lol

We continued our way around the pier, stopping to walk thru the gift shop. Goofy's Flight School was next for Nick & Marie.

When they get off, the Phineas & Ferb show was headed back to the back area after finishing their show.

I found out that Nick had never stepped foot into BugsLand.....so that was next on our agenda!

Nick & Marie started with Francis' Ladybug Spin.

A little view while standing underneath all the giant shamrocks.

We saw a photopass photographer over by Heimlich's Chew Chew, so we got a few pics done & then FLIK came out and joined us!!!! These pics will be shown when I share our Photopass pics at the end of this report.

I joined the kids for a ride on Heimlich's Chew Chew......love this ride!!

If you've never taken this short little ride, it really is worth it. Be prepared to feel the watermelon drip and the cookies aroma, make you have a craving for some goodies when you get off.
