I do think CL is worth it in more ways than one. We stayed CL @ GF a couple of years ago for our anniversary(kid free:)) and it was fabulous then and we didn't have any requests. They upgraded us to CL and to one of those turet rooms (i know i spelled that wrong) overlooking the poly and castle it was the most beautiful view and an incredible surprise. Disney knows how to get you "hooked" ! So of course DH booked CL automatically this time.

ibela, we were just at BC again in July and they had lots of life vests for toddlers/pre-schoolers around the sand play area at SAB. As many here know (especially Robyn/Disneymomx7, who mentioned her experience there) the smaller slide at the base of the pirate ship is also awesome! Our pre-schooler must have gone down this slide a zillion times - and you can catch the kids at the bottom. It's not as slow as it looks in the photos without the water running. When it's running, it's a quick and very fun slide - even our older boys would spend lots of time with our pre-schooler there.

Have a great time!!

I actually haven't seen pictures of the little slide, I just know there is one. That's good confirmation though, I'll try to convince her to be there. At least I know my little guy will have a good time too. Thank you!!

Anyway, we are considering staying here in June, since DS (who will turn 8 on the trip) is DYING to ride the SAB slide! Does anyone know how deep it is at the bottom of the slide? Also, I know it is an enclosed slide (or at least part of it) but for how long is it enclosed and is it dark? (He probably wouldn't care, but Mommy is curious ;))

TIA!

Finally finished reading the whole thread. Great info here folks!! :thumbsup2

I am bumping up my question from yesterday to see if anyone can answer my pool questions.

Thanks!

I heard a lots of negatives about IPO at BC, but so far they have been great! I couldn't believe it when I answered the phone this morning and the caller id said disney!! They called to make sure they had the correct spelling of my son's name which is Conor w/ 1 n. She said she never saw it spelled like that before and wanted to make sure they didn't make a mistake. WOW I couldn't believe they would make a phone call for THAT!! I was impressed. She was so friendly. I told her that I was meaning to call with a question maybe she could help me. My son has a sleep disorder and still wets the bed wasn't sure what I should do about this even though I'm sure this is nothing knew to disney LOTS of kids do this. She told me she would call mousekeeping and call me back. She called back 45 min later!! She told me it is all taken care of they put in a request for a daybed or a rollaway (DS brother doesn't like to sleep in the same bed can you blame him?) If not they will have protection over the mattress for me not to worry. Sorry for the long story but it was a bit of magic for me early in the morning and I'm not even there yet. Arriving 8/20 CL Can't WAIT!!

My DS12 is Conor with 1 'n' too! We will be there this weekend! IPO has been good with us too, very friendly and helpful. I think I want to change my BCV ressie in Nov. and stay CL at the BC then too. I love having someone to handle the details for me. Even if I don't "need " them per say it's nice to know they are there.

How funny! We have a Connor as well. We spell it with 2 "n"s. We will be there 8/18. We have 2 other Conors in our school, both with the one "n" spelling.

I'm only 5' tall and I know it is over my head at the bottom of the slide. It is at least 5 feet deep and maybe 6 feet. Even if I could stand at the bottom of the slide, the lifeguards won't let anyone do that. Also, parts of the lazy river are 8 feet deep.

There are lifejackets (in all sizes) for people to check out at the pool shop in the center of SAB. You just need to give your room number and you can have the jacket for the length of your stay. If you don't return it, then they charge something like $50.00 for it. There are also noodles for sale and the tubes to rent.

Our kids have used the lifejackets both times we stayed at BC. Also both times, we have been given pool noodles by strangers. Gotta love pixie dust! Once, at the end we passed the noodles on to another family. The second time, we asked the CL CMs to pass them on (it was early in the morning and no one was around) and they asked if we would be willing to leave them in the CL "loaning closet." They said they had a closet for items people may need during their stay and asked if we would leave them there. Of course, we said yes. We should have written on them or something, because I would LOVE to know if they are still being used! (That was May 2010.)

Have a great trip! So looking forward to Dec.!

I didn't know where to post this question and couldn't find anything using a search soooooo...I thought I'd ask the Friendliest Thread on Earth!

Our last stay was August of last year. Have they changed the KTTW since then? We bought our park tickets directly from Disney. They insisted on mailing them to us. They said they no longer combine them with your room key. Is this true? The tickets are very generic--no individual names.

Any help is much appreciated.

We just got back and we had a package so our tickets were on our KTTW/room card. I know that you can have separate tickets put on your KTTW at guest services.
Perhaps if you booked room and tickets separately maybe that's why, but it doesn't sound like it makes sense to me. I have read/heard that it is very simple to add tickets that were purchased separately to a room card.

I was wondering if anybody had any feedback on the pirate treasure cruise for children that runs out of the Yacht club. I booked this for my boys aged 10,8,4 and I am hoping they will enjoy it.

WOW! I didn't realize it would be that deep. But thanks for the tip about the noodle donation at the end of the trip- that's a great idea! :goodvibes

DS has done this from the GF (and I assume it is the same concept) and he LOVED it!! He was 6 when he did it.

It is only 4ft if that at the end of the slide. my 9 and 10 year olds ride it fine. We also saw younger kids on it with no problem.

The pool is not that deep at the end of the slide. Maybe 5 feet, but no more. I think it's more like 4 1/2 feet deep. I could definitely stand up there, and I'm only 5'2".

The enclosed portion of the slide is about 4-5 seconds long. My son who hates enclosed tube slides didn't even flinch at this. He loved this slide. He was 5 at the time...

After you check-in, just take the tickets and your room keys over to the concierge desk and they will gladly transfer the tickets onto your room keys.

Hmmm.... then that changes EVERYTHING... DS is currently 50 inches tall (and I am sure will grow at least 2 or 3 more before next June.) The enclosed part is what freaked me out  I am having a hard time picturing just how long this slide is and where it all goes from the pics. I need to make a mental note to pay more attention when we are at BWI this fall.

Thanks everyone!

I know I have loads of disboard friends coming in soon. Who is arriving at the BC on:

Thursday?
Friday?
Saturday?
Sunday?
Monday?

Can't wait to meet you all!

Great question, it was on our list to research.

Can they do this at the CL, too?

We've always done this in the CL when we do split stay. So, if Teena said, nothing has changed they should be able to do it for you in the lounge.

I'm wondering if it makes a difference that our tickets have no expiration. We just thought it was weird that the CM *insisted* on mailing them to us. Usually, even if we buy them ahead of time, they just add them to our KTTW when we get there.

Thanks again Teena!

BTW, we arrive late Thursday evening at the YC. We'll try to get over to say "hi" during our stay.

Personally since you purchased no expiration tickets, I would keep them separate. Otherwise, if you take them home, they just look like plain old room keys. In six months you might not remember they have 2 days of park passes left on them with no expiration date. At least the tickets say what they are and don't look like room keys.

Disadvantage is you have to take all your room keys with you plus all your park tickets with you if you don't get them transferred to your keys. You need all your room keys to show to get on attractions during the extra morning and evening hours.

Possibly a Saturday.... but sadly, not one you'll be there :sad1::sad1::sad1:

Perhaps I'll go with Dee's idea and bring along a "Flat Teena" cutout so you'll be with us in spirit???? :thumbsup2:cheer2:
