We're going July 6- 13. Our fourth time as a family...boys are getting older, and huge Harry Potter fans - so probably a day at IOA for the Wizarding World, as well. Staying at Buena Vista Suites. We've never stayed there before, but heard good things. Any input on this hotel?
We've done summer three times and not found the crowds overwheling, though it helps to have a plan.
Counting the Days!!!

Welcome!!! I don't know anything about Buena Vista Suites but I have heard it mentioned on these boards as having a good reputation.

Make any ADRs? There is a list on the top of pg. 7. If you want to post your dates and times, I can add them for you! :thumbsup2

I don't know if it was answered but...Grey Goose Slush is vodka with (citron )lemonade in a slushie form.

Only 94 days for us...that "only" seems oddly optomistic.

Never have I ever...been to a Disney theme park for EMH-evening hours!

We've done the mornings, and will do a couple of them again in July...but 2008 was the first time I stayed on property, and the kids were only 1 and 3 at the time...they are still little so no evening EMH this trip either...but someday I'm sure my kids will want to stay at MK until 2AM and ride Space Mountain until they drop!

100 days, 18 hours, 3 minutes and 6 seconds until Saturday, July 17, 2010 until we leave

why does it feel like time is standing still???

You are almost in double digits!!

Welcome!! I have added you to the list on page 67. We just got back from a week at Buena Vista Suites. We really liked the hotel. Awesome free breakfast buffet! It was really nice having 2 TVs, although the single bathroom was a bit challenging at times. Are you going to have a car there? If so, when you go to Disney - exit the the hotel from the front and turn right - stay straight and you can get to all the parks without going through DTD (which really slows you down). If you have any specific questions I would be happy to try to answer them.

We love evening EMH! But, our kids are older. After 1am most rides are a walk on! Something for you to look forward to! However, it does trash the next day - as you are pretty tired. We have been there until 3am - by the time we got back to the hotel and got to bed it was after 4am!

Any Rope Drop people on here? I was considering an 8:10am ADR at Crystal Palace. I know that means we miss RD. Think it'll be a big deal in July? I love the low crowds at RD but w've never been on an empty Main Street, wither. I think it'd be cool.

Rope drop person here!!! :)

We're going to Crystal Palace at 8:05AM. Should be out of there for rope drop. Never had breakfast there before, but we had the character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine in July 2008, had an 8:10 reservation. We were out of there at about 8:50, had seen all the characters, my son danced with them, we didn't feel rushed. We were out well before rope drop and I was the second person at the Fastpass machine for Toy Story Mania...then we waited for the first Playhouse Disney Live show, watched it and then rode Toy Story Mania! Then we did the rest of our attractions...DH got a FP for Tower of Terror and rode it later on and enjoyed himself very much!

Speaking of us going to the Crystal Palace, I switched around some of our ADRs yet again...sorry...I will post them a little later, have to take my son to karate now!

8:05 Crystal Palace breakfast is my favorite meal at WDW, I think! By the time you get out of breakfast, the park will just have opened. It's totally worth it. Just make sure that you book the early breakfast on a day that is NOT AM EMH. You want to take advantage of being able to get in the park before everyone else!

we've never done rd before but this time we're totally taking advantage of it and having late breakfasts

i'm totally excited to finally see the shows at MK and AK

:wave2: Hi everyone! Looks like there are a lot of us for July. We will be at POR July 14-18th for my DH's belated 40th birthday celebration. He isn't a big WDW person, but he plays a Lord of the Rings miniature game and there is a game being held at WWoS that weekend. He actually recommended we go up a few days early.

To surprise him, I am getting him the Richard Petty Driving Experience, so he will be doing that on Friday and his game Saturday and Sunday. Me and DS(11) will just hang out and do our own thing.

We live an hour away, so I don't know why we keep planning these summer trips like this.

Seems people were asking about making rope drop and also EMH. We have made rope drop at DHS several times. Me and DS made it for the 20th Anniversary of DHS, I was excited to be parked in the very first row of the parking lot. Is that sad? Made rope drop at MK once, but I was all by myself waiting on the DH to drive in.

As for EMH, we have done both. Latest we have made it is 3:00am at MK. Had a blast. We prefer the evening, we have a hard time getting up in the morning.

ADR change: Were going to Narcossess at 7:45 on July 9th.
84 more days! :goodvibes

So glad you joined us!! I have added you to the list on page 67. You are arriving the day we leave :( It would have been fun to do a Dis meet! I would love to talk DH into one more day - if I have any luck with that I will let you know.

I'm very excited for the breakfast there! It's not an EMH-morning. I made sure of that! I wouldn't want to waste the first hour the park is open by sitting in a restaurant!

Here are our modified ADRs:

July 19th: Dinner at Sanaa 5:45 PM
July 20th: Dinner at Captain's Grille 5:30 PM
July 21st: Breakfast at Crystal Palace 8:05 AM; dinner at Kona Cafe 5:35 PM (I canceled the lunch at Plaza because we think it would be way too much food since we're now doing the breakfast)

Thanks again, sorry for being a pain in the neck about my ADRs...I am truly obsessed!! :lmao:

You will be having both breakfast and dinner with katiebell on the 21st!

It's no problem at all. I totally understand the need to make changes. I made a few ADR changes myself last night... :rolleyes1

We get soooo much done on a RD morning. We do many things and then take a break when it's hot and crowded. I know it stinks to wake early on vacation, but when it's hot out it's the only way I'll go.

Well, we have the ADR for lunch on the 4th, but now I'm thinking I'd rather do this instead. I heard lunch was good, too, but I think that empty park is calling to me!

Oh, good news! We're Rope-droppers and I hate to miss out and those low crowds too much.

Thanks for the replies. Nikki--you can add my ADR for Crystal Palace Jluy 7 at 8:10 am.:upsidedow I have to cancel one now but I haven't decided which one:confused:

Hi everyone! I'm getting so excited for this trip! I haven't made any ADR changes yet, but if Ohana should open up I will be! LOL

I am sooo excited and am impatiently waiting :lmao: I have all our clothes bought already, flip flops, goggles:rotfl2: seriously I am obsessed with planning. All I need to do is work on my ADR's and pack our suitcases. I am trying to figure out which days to do which parks still. I think we'll be starting with epcot since it has emh that night.

Here are my ADR's so far:

7/9- 12:45 sci fi diner

7/10 - 6pm rainforest cafe

Welcome to our group!! I know exactly what you mean! I always buy new flip flops for WDW! I must have 8 pairs of Reefs in all different colors! They are my favorite, so comfy! But the mold to your feet, especially if they get wet, so I have to buy new ones every year! I even started getting DH into flips!

I added your ADRs to the list on teh top of page 7. Let me know when you make the rest and I will add those too! :thumbsup2

We hit MK RD once -- it was really cute with all the characters and the train. And, man, did we get a lot of stuff done that morning! Esp in Fantasyland. It was great.

I'm not sure what we're going to do in July. Getting my family ready to take my DD4 to preschool at 9am is like pulling teeth! And of course, they fall asleep at 8 or 9pm...

I guess I just need to chill a lot this trip...they won't be this young forever!
