Girls Only Trip ~ OLD Thread, see link in first post for new one

Good morning ladies!!! I hope the weather is improving for you all who've been poured on lately. There is snow covering the mountains out my window today and it's gorgeous.


I have something to say, and for those of you who don't have the time and/or the desire to read it all, feel free to skip my ramblings and head below to the cliff notes version.



Okay.........so...........uhhhhhhh. (ahem) Well, remember my big speech about doing the right thing, and being responsible, and all that nonsense?

Yes, well, I've been thinking and I've pretty much decided to say............ screw that.
So much for being the mature, responsible adult making wise, commendable decisions huh?

Well, I made the right decision when I canceled my October birthday trip, and dangit I just don't want to do that again. What kept my spirits up after canceling that trip was knowing I'd see you all in February and ever since I made the post about not going, it's been rough for me. I kept telling myself it was silly to get upset over missing a Disney trip, but then I realized it's more than that. I would miss YOU! ALL of you. That's the part that sucked.

Ruben's been telling me all along to just go and not worry about it, that we'll figure things out for June and everything else. (I adore him ) And a few of the ladies have been reminding me to live life, and be grateful for good friends and good times. And I had such a great time last time, I just know it would really make me sad to miss this trip. Sooooooooo in the grand tradition of blowing off responsibility in favor of Disney............ I'm going.

I have to say that I also had a wonderful "fairy godmother" who really is the one who made it possible for me to go by offering to pay for the room. I won't embarrass her by saying who, (cough*Shirley*cough) , but I owe her a lot and I just had to publicly say thank you. Can't wait to see you again my friend. It's been far too long.

So anyway, you are stuck with me now. Sorry for the back and forth drama. It's a bit embarrassing really. But I thank you all for your friendship and look forward to seeing good friends, and meeting new ones.

Congrats on making the RIGHT choice!! You know if I was anywhere that didn't require a transatlantic flight, thousands of dollars and a week of transition recovering from jet lag, I'd be there too. It is SO important to you and your family for you to take care of yourself and rejuvenate. Don't call it vacation. Call it mommy rejuvenation weekend!

I know you'd be there, and I wish you WERE going to be there. As Kelly said, we've had some others drop out for various reasons who will be sorely missed. You are indeed one of them.


As for the candy, you know last year I was happy to have anyone send me stuff to bring (or have me buy some room supplies to bring to them) since I was riding with Amy and she had a big SUV.

But now with Amy not going, and Jane unsure of what she's doing, I'm not entirely certain how I am getting there myself.

I am waiting to hear from Jane and if she says she's going, then it should be fine as we'll have room in the car. If she's not going, I'll be taking the bus which will limit how much I can bring and also it will have me arriving in Anaheim at 8:00 on Thursday so I'll pretty much miss most of the Meet and Greet.

So for now I have to wait and see what I'm doing before agreeing to bring anything extra. Sorry.

I have not been on here much this last week....I just caught up on 10+ pages. Meghan had a fever over the weekend and complained about her throat hurting. I figured that she had some congestion and was draining. Well, finally took her to the dr. yesterday and she has strep! I really thought that she was faking it Wednesday and Thursday to get out of school. Monday I started getting a cold and am still recovering from that. Donovan doesn't have preschool on Friday so I have both kiddos home with me today. At least I did get a good nights sleep last night. I told Chris that I was tired at 7pm and went and crawled in the bed. He finished with the kids and put them to bed.

I am getting so excited about this trip! I am just going with the flow for the most part. I guess that I need to start looking at maps and schedules and making some notes. This is my first trip to Disney Land so it will be a learning curve for me.

No worries, you are with Capri and I and we are DL experts! Heck I was a travel agent for 4 years and Disney was my speciality...even did the college of Disney knowledge and the onsite advanced course in WDW! It will be all good!

I'm SOOOO glad you're coming. I was really going to miss you if you couldn't make it.
