Tinkerbellarella-Thanks for your sweet post! So encouraging!!!
Tarzanskat-Thanks to you for the welcome!
IfUHadWings-Thanks also to you for the welcome! Also, what's Zumba? It sounds interesting.

Otherwise, went for a walk this morning, weather was nice, not too hot. Looking forward to the three day weekend. Sleeping in is on the agenda!:goodvibes

If napping were an Olympic sport, I'd hold the current gold medal. LOL

Ladies, I really cannot comprehend HOW but I remember to get on the scale this morning to find I'm DOWN 0.8.

Really, I don't know how I could be down (though I'll take it! I'm not complaining!) With all the water I'm retaining and the way I behaved last week???

Who knows, maybe it'll show up on the scale next week. We'll see!

So far, in four weeks I'm down 5.6lbs. Still ahead of the 1lb a week curve!

I'm out until next Wednesday! Have a wonderful long weekend everyone. Get out there and exercise and remember to eat smart!

:flower3:

Being a good role model is great motivation because it's someting outside of your own desire to get healthy, you know? They might not know it, but as a role model, you're accountable to your nieces.

But really, don't be too hard on yourself. Life happens sometimes and you just have to deal. You just get back on the horse.

Luckily so far they have none of my food issues, and can really teach me a thing or two. Neither of them overeat. It's remarkable to me how they have the ability to just stop when they are full. They won't even be tempted by sweets or other goodies when they are full. They are done, and no thank you they will pass on whatever you are offering them.

I'm always wondering how that gene got past me. :rotfl:

That's great! Your just not giving yourself enough credit. Obviously you were much better than you thought you were.

As for me, I was tempted to get on a scale yesterday morning, but resisted. I went to my class last night and it felt wonderful. I tried to put as much energy into the class as possible to get the most from it. My left foot started to get a bit numb midway through though and slowed me down a bit. It's a problem I can't seem to get rid of, I have a neuroma in that foot. Day to day activities don't bother it, nor does running seem to, but for some reason aerobics classes do. :confused3 At least it's not pain, so I don't want to complain too much.

24 lbs is phenomenal! Congrats!

I don't double up if I miss a day. I just consider it a missed day and move on. If I have the time, I may go for a walk when I'm done with my run, but I don't worry too much if I can't get it in. My schedule is a bit frantic, and unfortunately I can't always get in the workouts I want. Last week was a bit rough though, and I had to miss practically the entire week. If I could manage to get myself out of bed to exercise before work I'd be happier, but much as I try my body isn't going for it. ;)

Hi Everyone,
I hope you don't mind another joiner. I have loved reading all of the posts and know it's time I got on board to achieve a healthier me.

I am planning a surprise Anniversary trip to DW next Summer for our 15th Anniversary and would love to feel comfortable in my own skin when we go.

I am planning an official weigh-in in the morning, but I am roughly...232 pounds at 5'8. I have a long way to go (eventually want to be about 150) but I HAVE to do it. I was diagnosed with a slipped disc in December and the spinal surgeon told me weight loss would actually do WONDERS for my back and I may not need surgery:cheer2:

Hope to talk to you all soon!

Dawn

Hi Dawn! I'm a new member too, just wanted to say welcome.:goodvibes That's a lovely plan you have to celebrate your 15th. The ladies here are very sweet and supportive. All the best to you as you begin this journey. :flower3:

Hi Bliss! Thanks for the warm welcome. I have noticed how nice and supportive everyone is. It's a nice non-threatening environment when discussing something so personal...weight...at least for me.

Been doing pretty good today. Plan to play some wii tonight. I LOVE tennis! I may get on the wii fit too, it's been my clean up the house/do laundry day :laundy: so I am trying to relax for a little while.

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day Weekend!!! :):):)

I have to fess up. I haven't been doing so great. The guy I've been seeing is leaving in 3 days for the National Guard for 6 months and a friend has been up from Florida which means there's been lots of drinking and eating but Wednesday I'm back on the wagon....until I go to Disney next Tuesday. But after Disney I'm back full force. I need to be all kinds of hot when my man gets home! :lmao:

Welcome! The weight will come off, little by little. Starting is half the battle!

Dieting in Disney is rough. I always just aim for staying the same. At least all that walking around helps.

Just wanted to welcome you craftydawn! I didn't do my weigh in today, but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. :thumbsup2

Sigh. The dreaded weigh Wed. I really am begining to hate hump day because there is never any good news.

I just have been feeling yucky all week. I got on the scale expecting the worst, but was surprised to find I had lost something. Barely worth mentioning a whopping .4 lbs. And remember I went on strike last week so that is a two week total.

I'm just feeling discouraged with this. I know I can do it. I've done it before, but this time nothing feels like it's clicking, or meshing together. I'm getting more exercise, but my weight keeps hanging there unchanged. I try to be good with my eating, but I'm always perpetually hungry and picking somewhere along the coarse of the day.

Day was not helped today, by the fact that I got up nice and early to call in for my Zumba class and then promptly fell back asleep until 5:15. Class was already filled up.

Oh well. I'll keep plugging away. Tonight, weather permitting is my W4D2 run, which consists of two 5 min. runs and a several 3 min. runs. If it's raining tonight, I'll just do my run tomorrow since I don't have Zumba to worry about.

Aw, hon. Sorry you're down in the dumps, but hey, you're down in weight too! It may be little, but it counts!!!

I caught a cold/allergy/sinus thing over the weekend, so haven't been able to workout really. I'm hoping to maybe talk a walk tomorrow morning, see how that goes for me.

Thanks TK. I just hate seeing the scale not move.

Hope your able to get out for a walk tomorrow. Allergies have been just awful this year.

I skipped my run today. It was cold and misty and I just wasn't in the mood. Tomorrow though no excuses!

Day to day activities don't bother it, nor does running seem to, but for some reason aerobics classes do. :confused3 At least it's not pain, so I don't want to complain too much.

Have you tried different sneakers? I used to sell shoes/sneakers and the different types do VERY different things for your feet. For example, if you use running sneakers for aerobics, you may not be getting the right support. I believe they say cross-trainers are the best for aerobics. However I think, depending on the amount of running you do, cross-trainers are alright for most running.

I just wanted to share that I lost another pound, but my darn ticker won't update.

Silly technology.

How does everyone else handle not being able to work out for a day or so? Do you double up?

Depends - if it's only one day and I've eaten healthy, I'll let it slide. If it's more than one day or I've eaten like carp, I'll try to make it up.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you don't mind another joiner.

We NEVER mind! And welcome!

I was diagnosed with a slipped disc in December and the spinal surgeon told me weight loss would actually do WONDERS for my back and I may not need surgery:cheer2:

Dawn, as much as we'd all LOVE to love the reflection in the mirror, this is an even better reason to get on the weight-loss band wagon! We're here for you my new friend! You'll get there!

The ladies here are very sweet and supportive.

Awww. Shucks. We think you're sweet too.

Plan to play some wii tonight. I LOVE tennis! I may get on the wii fit too

I need to use my Wii far more than I already do, which is next to never. SUCH a shame!

I need to be all kinds of hot when my man gets home! :lmao:

I LOVE this. It made me laugh and reminded me of myself!

Barely worth mentioning a whopping .4 lbs. And remember I went on strike last week so that is a two week total.

EVERY ounce you lose is an accomplishment. Don't minimize it! As a matter of fact I also lost 0.4lbs this week (but was too sick to post yesterday) and I'm all about this:    How 'bout you be all about that with me.

I'm just feeling discouraged with this. I know I can do it. I've done it before, but this time nothing feels like it's clicking, or meshing together. Try this - you know everything you did when it worked. Write it all down in a list. Then, honestly, write down exactly what you're doing this time. Something should stick out. If you want, write it all here and we can help! :)

No joke. You know I know what this is and all I could see was that it was your R2D2 run! LOL :rotfl:

I caught a cold/allergy/sinus thing over the weekend

You too? Must've been the Force...

So, as I wrote above, I'm down 0.4 which is amazing given my weekend...which I'll get into detail about sometime in the near future. But I'm heading to the doc tomorrow since, as also mentioned above, I have the cold from, well, you know where.

Hoping to write more soon. Was thinking of you guys this weekend!

I totally did not go for my walk today, I'll admit it. I think I may be taking it easy. I'm still not feeling well, and given the level of coughing I'm doing, I know exercise will not help. Friday happens to be my longest day at work, so it's difficult for me to work out then, so I'm aiming to get back into it this weekend. Hopefully by then, this cold will have lessened in its ferocity. :lmao:

Indeed. The Force is strong with us. :yoda:

Okay, I just like using the yoda smilie and I'm not afraid to admit it. :lmao: I'm hoping to get back into my working out soon, and when I weighed myself today I had a slight gain. I don't know if that's accurate or not, since it wasn't my normal weigh in day or time. I'm going more by next week.

I do have different sneakers for my running. I went out and got fitted for them because I know I have so many feet issues. I :lovestruc my running shoes. I've only used my running shoes for running since I bought them.

I'm thinking I may need to get new shoes for my aerobics class. I think the ones I got were billed as cross-trainers. They recomend dance sneakers for the kind of aerobics I'm doing since they have less tread, and a "pivot" point on the ball of the shoe. This keeps you from wretching your knee when you do turns. (Which I have managed to do several times). I'm just having a hard time finding a pair that come in widths. I may have to test out my running shoes in class just to see if they help any with the numbness. At least then I'll know it's the shoes.

Thanks. I just want all this to happen so much faster than it's actually taking. I had really thought that working out was going to speed this along, and it's disappointing that it's actually going slower. Yesterday though I noticed that my midriff area was looking much thinner. The area between my chest and my natural waist is a huge problem area for me. Even when I've been thin I have always been really lumpy in that area. Yesterday I had on a snug sweater and I didn't see quite so many bulges. The weight may not be going away just yet, but the fat seems to be at any rate. I have to keep focused on that.

No joke. You know I know what this is and all I could see was that it was your R2D2 run! LOL :rotfl:

You just know I'm going to be thinking about my Star Wars run now when I'm out there! :rotfl:

 Yeah for the loss! Hope your feeling better soon!

I think there must be something in the air. I haven't been able to drag myself out for my next run all week. I was supposed to go out Wed. and put it off because of the weather, and then yesterday wasn't any better so I didn't go out either. Today isn't looking any better so far. Ugh!

I just wanted to stop by and say that the CM working at guest services desk at World of Disney today is my new favorite person in the world.

She was on the phone helping a customer while I was chatting with another CM about where I had been recently. When she got off, she said "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight." Ignore the fact though that I go to the World of Disney so often that CM's thinkI lost weight and how often I'm there. My day was made! Maybe something is happening with my body after all. I think I may have to take some measurements tonight.

I'm feeling a bit more reinvigorated to go for a run now when I go home. ;)

Wings, that's awesome that the CM noticed! See, you are losing weight, and it is noticeable! I know sometimes that can make all the difference. Someone else sees all your efforts.

One of my co-workers pointed that out to me the other day. "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight."

Yes, I have. Own it! ;)

I finally got in a walk last night, outside (as opposed to the treadmill). It was soooo very nice. Muscles are a bit sore, but in a good way. I'm glad to start to get back into my routine.

Hi again everyone! This past week has not been going so well. My back has been bothering me and it has given me the "excuse" to not workout. Well, it may not have given it to me, but I sure took it! The weather has been hot here so I haven't walked to work either. I vow to turn on the wii today and play a little tennis. Once I get going, I find it's difficult to stop working out. Anyone else find that happen? It's just getting off of the couch to actually do it.

How has everyone been? Hope your week went well. :):):)
