Ashley - Oh, the situation with that lifeguard would make me mad, too! And the kid peeing - well that's just GROSS! Hopefully the complex will resolve the issue - it's their liability if something happens to someone!

I finally called to Royal Pacific this morning to let them know we would be extremely late arriving on the 27th. I feel better now.

Good idea! Hmmm, I wonder if I should call SSR for the same reason? We won't get in until about midnight. Isn't that technically early check-in for the next day?

It was great yesterday... for about the first hour. After that, I didn't know what to do with myself. I forgot how QUIET the house is without little ones running around. I did get all caught up on my sleep though. Oh that would be so great if they brought those babies home, or even just one. But I can tell you with 110% certainty that it ain't happenin. My brother's neighbor's cat has kittens every few months - I think he's going to nab one for us when they are weaned.

good morning all! I thought I'd check in and say hi before I disappear for the day. I'm off to Buffalo with my parents for the day visiting my great aunt. She was diagnosed with cancer in the spring and they just caught it too late to do anything. I probably won't see her again since I'm moving to Michigan for school in August. It's hard but at least we had warning.

So, what are you going to grad school for?

We've got another beautiful, warm day today - but I'm inside watching a TIVOed show "The Hand Behind The Mouse - the Ub Iwerks Story" - it's a great show! Lyzziesmom, have you gone to any of the of the old buildings that used to house the cartoon studios that Walt and Ub started there in KC? I think it would be fascinating to track down those old places, just to see them!

Well, my show is over - got to go work on a cruise for my office manager at work, then it's off to the pool for me.

I didn't know about this show! Was it interesting? I'll have to track it down.

Michele: Can't wait to see the pictures. Forgot the camera, how dare he?? I let Lyzzie bring my old digital camera with her this week so she can take pictures if she wants - she probably won't though. She always forgets to. That's funny that you mention the Lion King, that scene has always reminded me of a baptism.

Speaking of the Lion King, do any of you remember the Lion King show that used to be in the MK where Philharmagic is now? I loved that show and really miss it - the opening scene always made me cry. It used parts of the movie combined with live-action puppetry. I don't know why they got rid of it. It would have fit it nicely at MGM, it always reminded me a little bit of the Little Mermaid show over there, the way they both tell the whole story in less than 15 minutes using movie clips and puppets.

I remember it! It was good. But, I love Philharmagic!

Thanks! It is official now! In fact, I laughed when I read my score breakdown. When we went on vacation I took all my theatre history, directing and acting notes but left my tech notes at home to save space. Sure enough I did great in every area except tech! The subject I am being hired to teach! I knew I would though, since I didn't take those notes to review.

Well, I best get to doing what I need to get done before work!

Well I just got back from the dr. - my pain guy - and he gave me two shots in the hip, ouch! I was not expecting that and he did give me a choice, so I told him hurry up and do it before I change my mind. I'm hoping it helps with some of the pain, even if it's just short-term. The shots are just awful, they are cortisone injections mixed with some lidocaine to numb it up for the rest of the day. Of course the lidocaine is not working (it never works on me) so my whole leg, hip, and butt on the left side feels really weird and sore right now. I would so love to go home for the rest of the day, but I would just end up sitting at the computer at home just like I do here, so might as well not use up any PTO for that.

Lin: I sent you a PM. Congrats on officially passing your test! When does the new job start?

Ashley: I had to read your post again about the pool. I thought it was a public pool, I didn't realize it was at the apartment complex. Not that peeing on the ground would be acceptable at a public pool either, but they are usually so large and busy that I could see it going unnoticed. But at the complex -- eeew! I hope the management gets a new lifeguard, pronto. I would not trust my safety to that guy, no way!

Thanks Nicole. I don't have much hope, because I had the same shots in my back twice and they did not help for more than a week or so. It actually makes it worse before it gets better. But, since it's a different spot and different nerves, I'm hoping I'll at least get some short-term relief. At least he didn't yell at me for not going to physical therapy!

The girls will come home on Friday evening, and then Lyzzie goes to camp on Sunday. Busy girl! I have not even thought about getting her stuff packed, I figure we'll do it on Saturday. I'm such a bad procrastinator! (Actually, I'm a very good one. )

Hello All!

I won't be posting much (at least not until the evening) because I was put on probation at work.

This is long, so feel free to skip over it.

A couple of months ago, they asked that I start balancing settlement accounts (I work at a bank). I have never worked with anything involved with that before, but I said sure. So, a coworker started training me. I had a ton to learn and it was taking me a while (especially since every day there was something different). She said not to worry, because when she first started doing it, it would take her all day (plus, she had background with the accounts).

Anyway, it would take me all day (some days) to balance everything. I would ask her questions and she would answer them or fix stuff herself. So, I did these for almost a month when she said that she would take the workload back. She claimed that she liked doing it and it would just be easier to train on of the other girls (who had the same knowledge background as she) as a backup.

That happened on June 11. Well, today I get called into my bosses office and he tells me that I am now on a 90 day probation. He said it was because some things were messed up while I was doing the settlement accounts and my coworker had to fix those. He also said that I didn't ask questions when I should have or if I did ask questions, it wasn't to the right person. I asked who I was suppose to ask, because I asked my coworker and even him. He said that was who I was suppose to ask and then didn't say anything further.

The HR director was there as well and she wouldn't really answer anything either. All they said was that I messed up and was on probation. If I do anything wrong, I will be terminated. I was also stripped of being allowed to do fun things in my spare time (such as internet).

Apparently, the mistakes that were made happened in May, but were fixed by my coworker (because I asked her to help). I stopped doing this stuff on June 11. No one said anything during this whole time until today. I have been here a little over 2 years and have never done anything wrong.

I am just so mad and upset. I had to sign my write up and put my side on it, but it doesn't matter.

Mike thinks I should look for another job, but I do like (for the most part) where I work. Still, I don't think this situation was handled well at all.

Do they have any documentation of the mistakes or any way to prove who it was who did the work, such as login information or anything? I don't really know how banks work, other than I put my money in and sometimes they give it back. I hope you get it resolved. You should probably start looking for another job just in case, it sounds like maybe they are setting you up for letting you go and trying to make a paper trail. I hate having to work for a living, don't you?

Amber that is terrible. If they want you to take on a new responsibility they need to train you and answer questions. Of course some mistakes will be made. Can you file a grievance of your own? Hang in there.

lyzziesmom...hope the shots help. I've had a couple of kenalog injections and they did help me with my ortho problems for a a few weeks and my allergies! They are such a short term fix...if even that. I would agree that the shot I had in my shoulder made it hurt more for a day or two. Hope you like sleeping on your back your hips probably won't fell too good tonight.

They couldn't give me examples of what was messed up. All they said was that it was fixed.

I have never gotten in trouble here before. I do my work and don't really have issues with it (I report information to the government and have had government examiners compliment me on my system).

I hope they don't fire me. I don't see why they would want to, since I have no (other) issues. Plus, no one else knows how to do my job at all (most don't even understand what I do).

I was trying to wait til this evening to post too...TMI guys sorry pozey and Underdog...but if any of you ladies suffer from cysts on the ovaries...you know what I'm talking about they can hurt like crazy sometimes!

It looks like I have a "date" with the XBF tonight! We're hammering out the details through email, but it looks like dinner & a movie. Not sure if it's actually a date though, but it's still nice to get out and have some company over 4 feet tall! Any current movie recommendations? I still haven't seen Pirates 3 but I don't even know that's still in theaters.
