I thought Christmas With the Cranks was marginal the first time I saw it, but each time I watched it, it grew on me. Now I love it. I watched it again on Netflix on Friday night.

I'm sorry but ELF. I cannot stand Will Ferrell.

I like this one, especially the department store scenes.

Jack Frost (the one with Michael Keaton as the dead father who comes back as a creepy snowman) and Fred Claus

We watch Jack Frost every year, great music and pretty good story.

My vote for worst would be any of the made-for-tv Christmas movies.

Have you ever watched the other Jack Frost? Not family friendly at all, and it's just horrible, but it's hilarious!!!!!!!!

The movie with the certain thing being carried in a clear plastic bag? It was so funny. My friends are always looking for bad movies we can laugh through.

A Christmas Story

I will never understand the appeal

I could watch A Christmas Story on a loop. I love it when they run it for 24 hours. I don't know why it matters, since I own the DVD. Maybe part of the appeal is that I asked for a BB gun for Christmas when I was 5 .....and got it, along with a lecture about shooting my eye (and the eyes of others) out.

A Christmas Story

I love A Christmas Story and never fail to watch it when it's on. Perhaps it's because I'm originally from Cleveland where much of that movie was filmed and it reminds me of how things were when I was young and seeing the old Higbee's (a now defunct N.E. Ohio store) department store in all it's former Christmas splendor. It saddens me to know this building is now being used as the Horse Shoe Casino. Oh, and I actually think it's a pretty good movie. :goodvibes

I am another one that didn't like The Christmas Story. Never got the appeal. And It's a Wonderful Life. Dislike that one too lol

It's A Wonderful Life

I like a lot of the movie, but it has a horrible ending. ;) Life in Pottersville sounds much more exciting than in boring Bedford Falls. Lots of rowdy bars, strip clubs, gambling joints, etc.

And the D.A. can't just rip up the warrant like that, even if all the citizens cover the shortage at the Building & Loan. I wanted George Bailey arrested for malfeasance!!!!

The correct answer is every Lifetime Christmas movie. Both best and worst at the same time. There was one last year called "Kristin's Christmas Past" that was pretty funny (unintentionally). And let's not even get into the Joey Lawrence-Melissa Joan Hart vehicle they had 2 years ago.

If you want something actually GOOD, there are 2 choices. A Christmas Story and White Christmas. You can debate the merits of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (nothing matches the original), Home Alone (not really a true Christmas movie to me), or Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (over-hyped by The Atlantic).

Another vote for A Christmas Story (as the worst). I can't relate to it, don't think it's funny and find it incredibly stupid and depressing.

How can it be depressing? Ralphie gets the BB gun he has been longing for and miraculously never shoots his eye out. It's a win/win!

I will admit it, I didn't like Elf. Seems as if it started out kind of entertaining but deteriorated as it dragged on and on. I will say, some stuff in it was funny, but not enough to make it really worth the task of watching it.

Also the Santa Clause...kind of showing my age here, but I was so excited to see it when it came out. When I saw it, I was like well that just wasn't too good... I think it would have been a little better if the kid wasn't so annoying and whiny.

I really think that Jim Carrey Grinch thing was the worst. I kind of tried to watch it. I made it a little ways into it, but was soon on the computer doing other stuff and half-way listening to it, and that even tapered off. I just found it un-watchable.

I don't know, I guess the whole dysfunctional family as humor thing doesn't appeal to me, although it's a common theme in movies and tv shows. It's full of unlikeable characters and bad stereotypes. The parents are dumb and mean. The mom is loopy. Everyone yells at each other. Even Santa Claus is nasty. It's been described as heartwarming but I don't get that at all. JMHO of course.

Nothing wrong with that. I'm just the opposite; I enjoy watching the dysfunction family, unlikeable characters, bad stereotypes, loopy mom, nasty Santa, etc.

There was a live Broadway version of a Christmas Story a few years ago that I liked better than the film.
