What!!! I love that movie. Frosty returns is lame and some of the newer cartoons. I pretty much like all christmas movies, from the classics to the hallmark /lifetime movies.

It was okay when I first watched it. But between my husband watching several times throughout the year (we have the dvd) and his sister playing it non stop on Christmas Day during dinner I've had it. LOL I can't even stand to hear someone even quote the movie.

You assume correctly.

I watched it with a friend of mine who bawls uncontrollably when she hears the song and you can imagine what the movie did. Rarely do I watch a movie I don't have any interest in (life is too short) but this person does a lot for me. The follow up is just as icky.

I don't know if any of them are particularly 'bad' for what they are but I don't understand the 'tradition' of sitting and watching them all every year - likewise with the TV specials, Charlie Brown, Rudolph etc.

But nobody makes me watch them so I don't know.

As for the appeal of Christmas Story - I think it's partly because many of us had dads like Darrin McGavin's character, some of us actually had the winter clothes paralysis (oh ye young uns of the lighter materials and ye people who live in southern climates just do NOT know), the standing in line in sweaty clothes to see Santa. I noticed the people who like the movie were kids any time before about 1970.
I like it - but I can't watch it every year.

I once saw part of Santa Claus Conquers The Martians starring Pia Zadora. Horrible, not even fun as camp.

The Grinch with Jim Carrey was gag worthy.

Probably most of the sickeningly sweet crap the Hallmark Channel runs from Early November.

Will is one of those people that when they try hard to be funny, they aren't. I'm not a big fan of Elf either.

Santa Buddies Maybe it's because I was buddied out. Nope. It just stinks.
Black Christmas. This may make the list of worst slasher movies too.
An American Carol. There are so so many bad renditions of a Christmas Carol out there to choose from. This one is the worst.
Santa with Muscles Hulk Hogan. Nuff said.
Santa Claus conquers the Martians. LMAO few of you will probably ever know or have the unfortunate distinction of being subjected to this one because it's from 1964. Do yourself a favor and trust me. It is one of the worst ever of ANY movie, not just Christmas movies.
The Christmas Shoes. It's not just on the worst song list now.
Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas. Kirk Canmeron. Nuff said.
Santa Claus, The Movie. With Dudley Moore and John Lithgow, what could possibly go wrong? Trust me. Put it back on the shelf. Just put down the movie and step away from the Christmas display.
Last Ounce of courage. Suggest this one to any of your "friends" that chew you out for saying, "Happy Holidays." Then again they might actually like it.

I would say Four Christmases, that movie was just awful!! And who puts Carol Kane in a movie and then doesn't let her utter a single word??
I haven't seen Elf, because I can't stand Will Ferrell. Maybe some day I will give it a try.
