World of color dessert party?!

Looks like at least some of the seats are not great, and you still have to line up. I don't eat dessert, so the "food" has $0 value.
You don't need to line up. People do line up, but that's because people associate waiting in lines with everything at DL. I didn't line up early and was given the choice of a high or low table. We had a good view. If we didn't have a good view, I would have complained and asked to be moved.

I agree the food had little to no value. They will box it up, so if you want a snack later or the next day, you'll have it. I'm not sure how strict the 24 hour cancellation is. I don't know if they count the exact 24 hours or if you can cancel anytime the night before. Just pay attention to the time when you are deciding if you are going to cancel and you should be fine.

Go to the bottom of the DLR webpage and look for the "contact us" link. Click on it and you will be given the option to email them a comment/complaint/request/etc. Be as specific as you can be about your complaint and include a way for them to contact you in return. Not every time, but often enough we receive a call or an email when we send a comment.

I would just use the "contact us" link at the bottom of the Disneyland website. If there's no way to attach photos, I would indicate you have photos to share and wait for them to reply.

Awesome, thank you both so much! Done and done :)

Just did a search and found this thread. Doing a this tonight.

What tables do you reccomend?

When should we get there?

I'm doing this in May and my strategy will likely be to arrive a few minutes beforehand and to grab whatever high top table I can in the front. If I can't, then a high top table in the back.

I decided to ask DLR directly about whether or not the WOC Dessert Party seating is "first come first serve" or if it's pre-assigned. Here's their response (I deleted the employee's name)

We did this Sunday night and it is indeed first come first serve.

Also, the CM is correct regarding the view. We ended up getting there after the party started because our Radiator Springs FP line took forever. So we were one of the last people to be seated. We took a high top next to the bar serving area and there really is no bad seat. Frankly, I don't see the point in getting there early at all. The food is a single plate served and there are only 2 drinks per person. The champagne glasses were small. I would have loved the kids light up cup myself. The people at the high top had been there awhile and were sitting there on their phones.

I'm glad we did it once and didn't have to stand waiting for hours to see it so it was worth it to us.

It is generally first come fist serve but they certainly do sometime reserve specific tables for VIP's or other people as needed as well as when they need to combine specific parties at the same tables.

Yes, we had the issue with having our table pre-selected for us because we were a party of 2. It didn't help that we were 3rd in line.

Does anyone know what the current show is?
The current show is similar to the "original" or "classic" WOC.
There are no temporary movie segments inserted to promote theatrical releases (Tron, Brave, Frozen, Star Wars...).
There have been many technical improvements added over the years (higher fountains, better water fans with larger projections, more fire, lights on Screaming...), so I consider this the best WOC show :thumbsup2

We don't really want to wait in line longer either. I'm sure we'll be happy with where ever our table is. My reservation says to check in at 8:15pm. What time would you recommend we show up?

If we have a party of five will we be able to sit together at a high top table?

I bet they will give you an option of squeezing in or splitting between tables (in which case you would have others with you).

Question for those that have seen this show multiple ways...

Is the show more impressive when you can see the bottom of the fountains? It seems as though the dessert party has a good view of the projections, but because of the people in front of you, you don't see the full height of the fountains, etc. Does this matter?

Comparing the "wet zone" or the bridge railing to dessert party, which one is better? I'm interested in strictly hearing about the view, putting waiting time, dessert, seats, etc. totally aside.

I've done the wet zone, the middle tiers and the dessert party.

Just my personal preference, but the "wet zone" wins for me hands down. Don't get me wrong. It was grand to relax in our chairs and watch. But I felt more disconnected without seeing the bottom of the fountains. We'll be up front and center next time.

I know the question has been asked on who needs to be there to wait in line and the responses I saw left me a little confused. Can I wait in line for my family, get the table and have them join me later? For F! I would sit and wait, reserve our seats and then we'd go back. I really liked that system. Thank you in advance for any help!

I don't know the official line, but the night we were there the person in front of me checked in for her part of 9. I wasn't thrilled about it, but they allowed it.

We did this last weekend and really loved it. The deserts were great and we definitely took some back to our Hotel to enjoy later. We were seated at a low top just at the top of the stairs with another couple. The service was a little slow to get started but was great thereafter. There were a few shoulder kids in front but sporadic and nothing really close, so maybe we were just lucky. View was otherwise unobstructed. We did lose the bottom portion of the displays, but didn't think it took anything at all away from the show. The only issue we experienced is that we were towards the back of the line so they had started letting other WOC guests into their areas and there was no easy way to get from the check in station down to the desert party area without getting caught up in the crowds. They didn't escort us down but instead pointed the way. We had to cut through the crowds to get to the entrance.

That happened to me in December, too. I thought it was very odd for a paid event. I was hoping they'd be over it. Oh, well, I guess I'll elbow my way through the crowds again tonight.
