Sounds fun. Go to Disney, get temperature checked and have Disney security escort you out of the park and to quarantine. No thanks

Yeah, I don't know that I'll be hurrying back to Disney if they implement those kinds of measures. Too high a chance of something stupid, like sunburn which is practically a given for me any time I set foot in the state of Florida, ruining the trip. But that'll ultimately depend on whether they try using thermal sensors and where they set the threshold that raises a red flag.

Life will start going back to normal in May. I don't think dance classes and our co-op will go back until summer or fall. As soon as I can, I am driving down the road about 30 minutes to hit up Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Sprouts. I miss those stores.

Depends on what you mean by normal, I guess. Once things start opening back up you can better believe I'll be out shopping and dining again. Precautions, I've always been a vigorous hand washer/sanitizer/don't-touch-my-face person, so that won't really change. I'll probably still have that nagging worry in the back of my mind every time I go out, but I'll just have to deal with it and hope for the best. No way in hell am I keeping myself locked up until there's a vaccine.

As for going to Disneyland, I want to say that I'll be comfortable with it as soon as it is allowed, but I'm not really sure yet how I'll feel about it until the time comes.

I voted as soon as allowed, but I doubt it will be normalcy, but rather a cautious beginning of normalcy. I'll follow the directives we're given as long as they are based on scientific and medical advice. . As soon as I'm allowed I'll get in the car to travel to see my elderly parents, where I'm sure there will be protocols in place to follow.

I do not plan on rebooking travel right away because my guess is there may be other waves that requre mitigation.

No one knows. I feel like we are doing the right thing now and will also be doing the right thing when we are allowed to start taking steps cautiously back to normalcy. I'm watching the graphs and hoping that day comes soon.

I expect a second lock down if we are released from this lock down prior to either a vaccine being administered to those that want it or a definite treatment being developed that shortens the effects and minimized the risk of death.

This is our concern as well.

If they release everyone just because numbers are starting to go down, those who are asymptomatic carriers are going to immediately spread it to those who have been quarantining up to that point and the numbers are going to jump again and we are going to be back on a lock down.

At this point, if I am infected, I have no idea what treatment they would be able to use on me, because I can't take hydrochloroquine. I have an irregular heartbeat and that drug could very likely cause me to have a fatal arrhythmia. And until we know what the side affects of a vaccine are, I can't have that either (though I will certainly get one if it is deemed safe for me to do so as will the rest of my family).

This whole situation is terrifying.

I am holding hope our dance classes can go back Mid may , maybe 3rd week of May so they can have their recital. We are a small studio and I really think even recital they could restrict audience down to just immediate families so its isnt as crowded.

But then there is the part of me that is worried that things like dance classes, kids sports and such won't be able to return int he fall either with all the talk of having to social distance for months and months..

What does that mean though? My sister's family has been self-isolating for over 2 weeks. They aren't at risk for getting anyone sick. So they are okay to socialize?

Not picking on you at all. It's just going to be such individual decisions for everyone and I don't think people should judge other people for their choices.
I don't think so, unless they socialize with ONLY people they are positive have self-isolated for the required time and who have had contact only with others whom they are sure...

I voted for summer 2020, because we want to take sort of a "wait and see" approach. DH is a diabetic and we are both pushing 60, so that keeps us in a higher risk category, but we are both very healthy and he has always managed his diabetes very well. Nevertheless, we are being very very cautious now.

When restrictions are first lifted, we will probably maintain our social distancing almost to the point of the quarantine conditions we currently live in, while we watch and see how society does as a whole. We won't being going to church or to a restaurant or movie theater, but we will probably start having work meetings again (DH will most likely still be wearing a mask for those).

I have no idea how long it will be before I feel ok hugging or shaking hands with anybody.

Late August at the earliest 🥀 my neurologist is strongly discouraging any significant social activity or travel for 3 months after my MS infusion treatment in late May.
So im cancelling the June & July trips i had planned

I think I will be okay with going back to "normal" as it is allowed, but I would hope that it would only be allowed as it becomes prudent to do so, and I have faith that that will be the case. I do think they will allow things to slowly return and I will follow the guidance as issued.

I have no idea when I will go back to "normal". My expectation and what they've been discussing in my area just recently is a rolling easing up of the restrictions but there will also been other advisories IMO in place such as maintaining distance from one another for a decent time to name one.

What I do know is that as time goes on, as restrictions are slowly eased up bits and pieces of my life may be able to return to some resemblence of normal.

As far as testing go..it does no good for me to go back to "normal" completely unless everyone I am closely around also has been tested to show they've had it now or had it in the past. If I tested that way but my husband didn't well that means he's still at risk. I can't just go hugging my mom unless I knew she also was tested to have had it in the past, etc.

I will go back to near normal once restrictions are lifted. I will still stay a bit away from people and go to restaurants that I trust. But I also know I will do that for a limited time to scope things out and just then dive back in.

Life won't really be 'back to normal'. It will be a new normal and, likely, a very different normal. It is likely that it won't even begin, in earnest, until fall. People are going to be very hesitant (for a long time) to go anywhere that has large crowds, e.g., Disney World. I just think of when we were there in February and were in a crowd of several hundred packed in like sardines waiting to get into Magic Kingdom. Who in their right mind is going to want to do that in the near or not so near future? Same with going to sporting events, theatres - both live and movie, concerts, conferences. The list goes on. And with a place like Disney World with guests from all over the world? No thanks, anytime soon.

Since I am doing chemo treatments, I am not planning on doing a lot of outside activities for awhile. I will probably continue to wear a mask going out for a bit. I don't tend to go to a lot of large gatherings anyway, so it's not that big a deal. I do look forward to going out to dinner occasionally.

Things will open slowly so hopefully we can assess what kind of impact it will have on infection rates. I am sure restaurants will open to reduced patrons before Major League Baseball games and concerts will resume.

I voted for as soon as restrictions are lifted. My wife works at McD's and I'm a mail carrier, so we have just adjusted our interactions with people. We were on a Disney cruise out of NYC last November. There are a significant number from that cruise group who think they caught the Coronavirus on that cruise. So we might already have the antibodies in our system.

With the tracking of the virus, I doubt anyone in the US got the virus in November.

OT, but I wish MLB would start playing the games without fans. We'd be happy to send our team of choice a donation to make up for not selling tickets & concessions, if we could see the games on TV.
