I know there’s been other threads discussing when the lockdowns may be relaxed. But, another matter is when will people be comfortable going back to their pre-Coronavirus daily routine and habits (assuming a vaccine is not yet approved)?

Kind of hard to answer.

I don't think I'll ever go back to old habits. I'm more aware of how often I touched my face. I will wash hands even more than I did before. And my god, I'll always have at least 3, 12 roll packs of toilet paper at home at all times!!!

That said, if cases are down where I live and restrictions are loosened, which I don't see happening until summer (mid-June), I will happily go to a restaurant and sit down, have a cocktail or two and enjoy being out again this summer. :)

My day to day hasn't changed much.

I've been working more away from home as our church has gone virtual. I still go seek my own groceries in stores as it's very difficult to get a pickup or delivery time. We socially distance wait to get in. Some products are scarce, but our family has what we need.

I do wear a mask when out. Our streets are a busy as ever.

As an introvert, I've longed for all this at home time people are getting. But I'm not getting much.

I think people's comfort level is very individual, based on their own level of risk, and their own personality, how prone they are to worrying in general.

For myself, I will behave normally the second that restrictions are lifted. I have long been very careful about hand washing and sanitizing, avoiding touching doorknobs, wiping down surfaces during travel, etc. & maintaining my immune system as best I can, because I'm an elementary school teacher who is directly exposed to a ton of illness every year. So I will continue those precautions, which are already a habit for me.

As soon as the powers that be say it's sorta kinda safe. Realistically, there will still be a risk when they say it's o.k. but I think with some more diligent hand washing I'll be ready to go out. We don't socialize a lot any way but I do miss going out to eat every once in awhile. Heck, I'd take going to the grocery store right now. My honey goes when we need to, it has been 3 weeks since he went. I don't go with him because I'm over 60 (he isn't even close) and we don't want to overwhelm the stores with too many people in them. We haven't even been to a fast food restaurant since this started, I'm not sure I trust the employees at the ones closest to us since they are at a major exit for I85. I'm not really as worried about it as my honey is so I would probably be going to the grocery store at least by myself but he doesn't feel comfortable with it so it's not a battle I want to fight right now. I would like to be able to have lunch with my son, which I can't do right now because he works in a grocery store so he is exposed to a lot of people. I'm sure we will take a trip in our RV as soon as it's safe and parks start opening up again. Even with that we don't socialize with other people but we do visit the sites in whatever town we are near. Then it's a trip to WDW, hopefully for F&W.

When restrictions are lifted I will be quick to return to eating at small local restaurants, and to going to outdoor public places. I think I will be hesitant to return to confined spaces immediately, although I will be thrilled to go back to work at school and put distance teaching behind me. I'm tentatively planning a summer vacation to an area where I can be mostly outside, rather than in confined spaces.

I am completely normal now.

I go to work, I go home, I eat, I go to bed.

Spring is trying to come, but cold rain is holding it back. I have tires and cables ordered for the bicycle. The only thing that has changed is I was going to order some accessories for the motorcycle and I won't be spending extra at the moment. No big deal, it's accessories I don't need.

When I get the bicycle back together, I'll be riding the bicycle and riding the motorcycle same as I always do when I'm not working.

I'm not addicted to shopping and have to spend money and walking around stores constantly. Pizza shop is still open so when the kids are here we are still doing our usual pizza weekends.

Nothing changed, except a lot less people on the roads going to work and since it's only 7-10 of us left at work, it's a LOT quieter at work. I've never in 25 years heard my footsteps climbing the stairs. I'm the only one running a piece of equipment. Normally I can't here my cell phone ringing if I have it right up in my face.

When was I ever normal?

edited to add: Tuesday. Somebody tested positive at the office so I can’t go in until it’s “deep cleaned”... which will be Tuesday.

A vaccine. :) Most viruses can't be cured. But there can be great treatment options, so let's hope those are on the way!

Just in case people were hoping for cure, that's all.
You're right. I should have said treatment. I fixed my post. Unfortunately, I don't expect a vaccine any time soon. I hope we have a very effective treatment long before then.

I guess whenever I know I am not at risk of getting others sick.
Best answer yet.

What does that mean though? My sister's family has been self-isolating for over 2 weeks. They aren't at risk for getting anyone sick. So they are okay to socialize?

Not picking on you at all. It's just going to be such individual decisions for everyone and I don't think people should judge other people for their choices.

What industry you work in? If it’s industry. A lot of the plants here are chemical and or parts for automotive. They haven’t had any layoffs or such. Honda I heard is going back to work In a couple weeks here in Ohio and Alabama. Not sure about our Gm ford or Fiat plants and such. They usually do a summer shutdown for vacations. I kinda doubt if that happens now. We’ll see.
And of course the Bud plant is very busy. Lol. A budy of mine works at a Whisky distillery in Kentucky. They are also busy. Lots of partaking in that now.
