What rides have you been stuck on or evacuated from?

On our trip, we had a first time experience. We were riding the Matterhorn and were near the bottom where the Yeti jumps out one final time. He didn't make any noise as we went by and all the sudden the brakes locked and we came to a stop. We sat there for a few minutes when a cast member came over the loudspeaker to tell us the ride was shutting down and someone would be up shortly to evacuate us from the ride. Normally, I would be excited to walk through the bones of the Matterhorn but I was also in a panic as we entered the Lightning Lane 40 minutes before our nighttime Fantasmic dining package was approaching. We were 20 minutes late to our reservation but they still let us dine. The cast members gave us 3 LLs each for our trouble. It's very messy inside the Matterhorn. Sadly, we didn't get to see the basketball court.

The only other ride we were taken off of was Ratatouille in Disneyland Paris.

We were evacuated from Peter Pan. It was a HOT august day and our daughter just had a Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique makeover and was in a big elaborate dress with makeup and hair done.
We (husband, daughter and I) were stuck in our pirate ship above Never Land for what felt like forever but was really maybe 20 minutes?

My daughter was shocked to see how they do the “stars”, all the wires everywhere
It was crazy. And dusty?

The fire department had to come and we had to climb out of our ship via a ladder.
Then we got walked out through the ride, which was kind of great actually, I touched Wendy’s dress!
They said not to take pictures or video but…

They gave us cute stickers (Mickey as a fireman) and a fastpass through maxpass (this was august 2018)

Small World: the ride stopped in the Spanish room and the music stopped. The A/C apparently stopped, too, so it got pretty warm in there. Creepily, the animatronics kept going so all we could hear was the clickclickclick of them moving.

Alice in Wonderland: it stopped when we were still on the outside leaf part and just about to enter the final room. A CM came by and said we couldn't be walked off the ride since we were technically outside and we would need the fire department to evacuate us. Thankfully they got the ride going long enough to finish and get us to the end.

Space Mountain: the music stopped about halfway through and then the lights came on. I kind of wanted to see what the inside was like with the lights on, so I wasn't too annoyed. Once a CM came and pushed us on our way to the exit, they said we could stay on the ride and go again. We did another ride and again the music stopped but the ride finished. Once we got to the exit we ran off that ride and fled while we could lol.

We got stuck on Indy, close to the end where the boulder is. They evacuated from the furthest away cars first so we sat there for quite a while, unfortunately for my daughter’s friend who needed the restroom! Seeing rides with lights on takes away some of the magic for sure! They gave us a free fast pass (it was the olden days!!) but it was park closing by the time we got out.

The only actual evacuation I had was Soarin' Over California but it barely counts because they just manually lowered the thing and we left through the regular exit. This was years ago so there was a CM with an entire stack of blank Fastpass stock handwriting the date so we could return to that ride any time later that day. For Toy Story Mania in Tokyo, I was just about to get on the ride and it broke down so they opened up all the doors to get the queue to clear faster. It was just a few days after Fastpass Reminders started at Tokyo Disney so I got one of the first ever Multiple Experience Passes in Tokyo.

There were quite a few rides where I stopped for a while and then finished the ride without any effects but still in the dark. Indiana Jones, Midway Mania, Screamin', Space Mountain, Mystic Manor in Hong Kong. I didn't get compensated for any of these.

Once, I just missed Hyperspace Mountain lights on in Hong Kong. I was at the point when they split people up into rows when the lights came on and the next car finished the ride lights on. It got fixed in a few minutes and people were allowed to ride again immediately if they wanted to. Most people didn't but the vehicle I boarded did have a few people who experienced the lights on.

In California Splash Mountain but it was just around the corner of the exit so not very interesting. In Paris Pirates the evacuation was right at the beginning before the first lift, so also easy, we had to walk backstage, around the building to get back to the park. Most exciting evacuation: The teacups :P
I have been stuck on Peter Pan, Crush Coaster and Haunted Mansion for so long they turned on the lights, but in the end we didn't get evacuated.

The first time we ever rode Flights of Passage, we entered and buckled into the banshee. We were stuck there and had no idea where was supposed to happen for about 15 mins. Wondered if it was part of the ride for a bit. We missed our mobile order window but they figured it out for us.

We also got stuck on Small World, although it was at WDW. The music stopped, but the dolls kept moving it was totally creepy, especially after reading Kingdom Keepers.

Last Dec, I got stuck on Haunted Mansion. We had just gotten off the elevator (stretching room) when all the lights went out. Kind of a cool thing to happen in HM, LOL. They turned on the emergency lights which gave everything a different strangeness; all of the effects were off--no portraits, music, voices, etc. We all had to wait in the portrait hall for quite a while before they had us exit through a stairway near where the Doom Buggies go up the staircase. Kind of neat to see the emergency exit, but we were really worried because the power was out in the entire NOS area and we were about 20 minutes away from our Club 33 reservation! We rushed over and the CMs there were standing outside looking concerned. They told us they didn't know what would happen if the power didn't return soon because they were completely booked all day. It finally came back on right before our reservation time (which was the first one of the day). We were a party of 9 so that was a huge relief to everyone.

We got evacuated (in different trips) from Pinocchio and Roger Rabbit‘s. We also got stuck on Pirates once, when Anaheim had a power outage. Apparently Disney has emergency generators, since there was a little light and the banjo dude in the bayou part of the ride kept plink plucking away (that’s where we got stuck). However, our boat stopped and just sat there. We never got evacuated, just waited and waited and waited for what felt like a really, really long time, until things suddenly started moving again.

We got stuck multiple times on Haunted Mansion this trip and I loved it. There's so much detail in each room and it allowed me to get out my phone and take some shots in the banquet hall and with the Hatbox Ghost. Sadly, we've never been stuck in the graveyard which is always my hope.

We've been stuck on and evacuated from Mr. Toad twice now. Both different trips. Sitting under those lights for 15 minutes while they try and figure out what's going on is HOT.

The first time it wasn't so bad being walked off but the second time we were much further into the ride when a CM came up and was like "ok we're all gonna walk back the way we came in" and left. There was a vehicle stuck in the center of a doorway we had to get through and I'm over here both fat and in a dress trying to climb over this goofy car, telling the people behind us "sorry sorry" as I'm slow as molasses.

In December 2019, we were sitting in the front row of the Incredicoaster when it got stuck just as it left the station. Only the first 2 rows were locked allowing the rest of the train to exit on the platform. There were 2 trains on the track at the time. The other train got stuck on the biggest incline just before the loop. We were there for a total 45 minutes. For obvious reasons, they had to evacuate the other train first. Then they got to us. The CMs were great. They were with us the whole time and offered waters and whatever else we may need.

The interesting part was when we got off. The other party and us went to separate CMs and the haggling for fast passes began. "What can we do to make this up to you?" We ended up with 5 fast pass experiences for the inconvenience. They gave them to our whole party even the ones who were not riding with us. I think I left 2 experiences on the table that day.

Got evacuated from Big Thunder Mountain when I was like 12-13ish. Thankfully it stopped at a safe enough point that the CMs were able to help us all out and then they walked us through all these back mountain-y tunnels to get out. We kept commenting how it was so cool and we felt like Indiana Jones (I'm middle-aged, so this was before Disney opened up the Indiana Jones ride!)

Yesterday wasn't an evac, but I was on the first Soarin' ride of the morning and just as the top of the thing came down for the ride to start, everything stopped and we got our tickets scanned to return later and shuttled out through the exit. (I heard that theatre was down most of the day too, so they were running only one theatre.)

We've been evacuated off Splash Mountain, years ago. We were on the lift hill and they had to escort us off and down the stairs to the back of the ride.

We've been on Space Mountain when the ride stopped and they had to turn the lights on and reset it. We were able to stay in the ride vehicle and they ran us through again right away.

In April we were stuck in the first lift hill tunnel on Incredicoaster. They told us later the ride didn't meet the speed requirement for the lift so it came to an abrupt stop. The creepy part was the ride soundtrack kept playing! We were there for a while. My son started to get quite anxious, we had to remind him to breathe and stay calm. Eventually, 2 cast members came up to keep us company while they waited for maintenance (I think) to come evacuate us. They were both tethered to the stairwell. They had a device that goes between the ride and the stairs so you can safely step out. And then they started at the back of the ride and helped each person off the ride. I'm a coaster junky and I don't mind heights but being stuck sitting at that angle and then trying to stand up and step out onto the stairs was a little disorientating. Once everyone was out and on the stairwell we call went down the stairs and were let out of the stairwell near the TSMM entry. They said a cast member would meet us and scan our apps for a LL but the cast member wasn't there! Then we all had to walk over to the ride entrance to get the LL. My son and husband were pretty sour on Incredicoaster for the rest of our trip. I would have done it again.

That would be spooky! 👻

We've been stuck on Peter pan flying over London, which was kind of cool. Once we got stuck in Pirates on that last hill taking you out of the ride. That was quite uncomfortable! We were stuck on Splash listening to "If you've found your laughing place, how come you're not laughing?" for like 20 minutes. Last time we were on Haunted Mansion it stopped 3 times, but always started up again within 5 minutes. I know we've been stopped on Small World before but never long enough to be evacuated.

We were also stuck on Small World for around 30-40 minutes several years ago. My children were panicking since they were both signed up for the "Jedi Training Academy" they used to do and we were running out of time. The music was running and the puppets were still moving and over time it became more and more unsettling. At one point a man in the vehicle behind us, who was wrestling with a wailing toddler, screamed, "For goodness sake, turn off the music. There are children here!"

We had to be evacuated from the top of the first lift hill on Big Thunder once. We were in the last car so I was the very last person off. Kind of freaked me out...ha!

We were once on the Jungle Cruise and our boat died and had to be towed back to the dock.

I think other that I've just been stuck on various rides for a while like Pirates and Small World.

At WDW we were stuck on the People Mover for a long time, inside one of the buildings and they had to turn the lights on.
