What films put a lump in your throat?

You've Got Mail.

When she says, "I wanted it to be you." I just die. :lovestruc

Sleepless in Seattle, the end scene and she's there and he's there and sigh...:lovestruc

Oh, and of course: Leia and Han's "I love you." "I know." :lovestruc

Oohhh, Gravity. At the end, when she tries to stand and can't for a second and slightly stumbles and then she kinda laugh/smiles...THAT puts a lump in my throat.

I'll start... Apollo 13. So inspiring!

"Without a trace".

When the child is rescued and the cops from NJ insist on escorting him home. That whole sequence on the highway up until he is reunited with his mother...

I get misty eyed just remembering it

I'm a damn bawl baby. I cry at happy movies, sad movies, and even ones where there is likely nothing to cry about. :lmao:

My list of movies I haven't cried in would be a shorter list. :rolleyes1

Anyway...

What Dreams May Come - pretty much from the start through the credits on that one.

Titanic - when the old couple and the kids are in their beds and the water is coming up. Dear God...SOB.

The Notebook - the ending, enough said.

Passion of the Christ - I don't think I stopped the air gasping thing for about an hour after that movie (you know, the thing kids do when they get all worked up and do that air gasp thing/sniffle).

The Help - the scene about Constantine

Want me to keep going? :rotfl2:

Sophie's Choice. Who could imagine that a mom at a WWII concentration camp had to choose which of her children could live and which child had to be taken away for extermination?

That was the first movie that I saw that I openly cried while watching it. Luckily I was at home..by myself :rotfl2:

Another one for me..."The Fault in Our Stars"

The list is endless. The latest one is Hatchi the dog with Richard Gere. I know that isn't the real name of the movie, but its really close! I saw Simon Burch(sp) yesterday and DS asked me why I always watch when I know it makes me cry!

Toy Story 3, from the point of incinerator clear to the end of the movie.

Apollo 13..saw it half a dozen times in the theater.

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2. The final moments of the movie showing Harry, Ron and Hermoine...because you knew this would be the last time you would be seeing them.

The Green Mile
The Shawshank Redemption
The Fault in our Stars
Steel Magnolias
Step mom
Cinema Paradiso
The Notebook
The Fox and the Hound

I'll add: Titanic, and the end of Gravity.

ETA: Requiem for a Dream. Just watching their dreams descend into madness and despair, it's almost too much to take.

If a movie causes me to have a lump in my throat I usually end up crying. I cry a lot at movies, especially if they are true stories, and even if not. I try to tell myself "it's just a movie, it's just a movie" but usually that doesn't help.

A few that come to mind that I cried either during or at the end, "The Notebook" especially since my Dad had Alzheimer's too. "Step Mom", I think that was the one, where she was dying and wasn't going to be able to see her daughter get married. At the time my own daughter was engaged and I went to see the movie with her and her fiance and I just sat there blubbering throughout most of the movie.

A recent one, "Still Mine" with James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold made me cry too.

The Secret of NIMH where Justin pulls Mrs. Brisby away from the block that is sinking. Kills me! :guilty:

The bucket list.... When jack Nicholson is doing the eulogy

And then any movie where the dad sacrifices himself for the daughter and her boyfriend. That is just because I always get mad because the girl can get a new love (people do it ALL the time) but you never can get a replacement daddy.....
