This was our second MK day. As I said earlier we wanted to be there for EMH rope drop but as DP said we got hung up at the TTC. We drive to the parks as the buses just never seem to work for us. They work great for everyone else but if you see us get in line be forewarned another will not come for at least 45 minutes to an hour.
The line to board the monorail was almost to the bottom of the ramp by the time we got there at 7:35 am. We were in the second row of cars and thought we were golden. Nope. The saddest part was watching the people ahead of us fight to get down the ramp when they saw the ferry boat dock and walk over to it only to be told is was not running until 9:00 am. Then having to line up at the end of the row. We had asked coming in about the boat and knew it was not running but some people just have to go find out for themselves. We walked into the parks at 8:15 am.
We went directly to Fantasyland and got Hunney Pot FPs. We rode once without FP as it was a 10 minute wait and then went to Dumbo. DS REALLY wanted to ride Dumbo and DD did not. She and I went to Ariel and were the third guests there. We went back to the tent and waited for DS and DP to finish Dumbo. We ate the 2 cream cheese pretzels and sodas for breakfast.
Our HP FP times were up so DP went to get PP FPs while we started to walk over to the HPs. We rode that again, then Snow White, then Mickeys Philharmagic, IASWAA (IASWAA is tough for me as I am not only extra Pooh sized but am tall too. The leg room in there kills me about half way through the ride I want to shift and stretch). Then our PP FPs time were up. We had no waits for anything this morning. We literally walked from one ride right to the next one.
As we exit PP it is pouring! We put on our ponchos and cover DS and his stroller with his. We make a quick dash to Haunted Mansion. We stand and wait for about 5 minutes in the rain as they try to get the people exiting the ride to walk out from under the canopy. It became the chant of If you stay here you must become a ghost on the ride. Drag your wretched bodies out.
I cannot fit through the turnstile here but we use the wheelchair entrance for DS anyway. They offer the choice of going into the stretching room or just getting directly on the ride. The stretching room terrifies both children so we are happy to get right on the ride.
DS is fascinated by the Presidents so he could not wait until we got to the HofP. We have not been in this attraction since DD was an infant. We were seated in the rear of the hall with DS in his stroller. We were actually very grateful for this as he talks (a lot) and has a serious problem with volume control. We thought he would be asking many questions so that there was a row or two of space between us and the next closest row made us feel like he would not bother anyone.
The seats here are snug for those of us with big hips. DS enjoyed the performance but wanted more information and wanted the presidents to talk more. I think most people would be happy he did not have a hand in designing this attraction.
Well that takes us up to about 11:30 am. Yes, we did quite a bit that morning.
Time to go open more presents as we are celebrating our Christmas at home today. Will finish the day later.
