The Trip Is On!!! Trip report starts on pg. 39

yay, so nice to see you back

Love your small world

Looks so big and cool from outside :goodvibes

I may talk bad about it but I still love it. I need to find out if I can get Dina's pictures to post too. She took a lot of pictures in there.

Thanks it's good to be back.

t much longer.
It was sooooo busy we decided to just meander and have fun. So we headed out to cruise the stores. Dina's DH and DD have always rushed her on trips in the past so she really wanted to just wander. I love to wander the shops so I was game and away we went.

After moving like salmon upstream to get towards Main Street, I was anxious to take a few pictures.

This trip is sounding so refreshing ... just to meander along while everyone else is hustling!

We continued on down Main Street and I continued on with the windows.

This is where the pictures from this day end. We went toward DTD and our first stop was the WoD store. This was where I picked up my backpack and I had to have it. I am using it as my purse now, WBG tells me it isn't a purse. My reaction is meh it's mine and I am using it as a purse.

I am a night owl normally but I was asleep before 10pm. For me that is almost miraculous.:rotfl:

Did you post a pic of your backpack/purse? I missed it and would love to see it!

Love the DUffy pics!

Ok, I'm back on page 43, so have some catching up to do!

In our wandering I spotted Woody, Jessie, and two green army men doing their meet and greet so we got in line. The grouping kept changing and all I really cared about was that I would get a picture with Woody. This was a must for me. Peanut is a massive "Toy 'tory" fan so I needed to get that picture. As I watched character after character leave I started to get a bit panicky. Jessie left and then the green army men left and it was still Woody, and then Jessie came back. And the two of them horse around like brother and sister. And they really give good fan interaction. Pretty soon the handler was saying that Woody was going to have to leave soon and I was in full panic mode. I would have spent at least 40 minutes in for nothing. But we were in luck.

They had so much fun with Duffy and we got a great laugh out of it and it was a great experience. And the nicest thing of all as we were leaving Jessie grabbed ahold of me and gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. It was truly special and fun.

So glad you got these photos! I love the last one with Woody, Jessie and Duffy -- so cute!

So Monsters Inc is a ride at DL? At WDW it's just a show.

Funny story, on Tuesday morning Loren sent me a text asking me how to make the oatmeal he makes for himself every morning. He wanted to make sure that I knew he still needed me so that I would come home. As if anything could have kept me away.

That's too funny about Loren!!

I like your Silvermist photo! We still need to get her pic/autograph.

The pic of Vidia with the frown since Tinkerbell is holding Duffy is a GREAT shot!

Duffy all over the place is just great -- I like the knight pic ... so perfect a contrast between soft and fluffy and hard and metallic!

I'd love to ride the DL version of IASW. It looks much nicer (at least from outside) than WDW.

OK, all caught up!:thumbsup2

I had forgotten that IASW at your place is partially outside. Our's is all indoors.

Okay, I seriously need to dig out my DL pics (circa 1987). :goodvibes

I need to post one. I hadn't thought about it. It is dirty from use but I will get a picture later.

Meandering was great. Everyone was in such a hurry and we just took our own pace and it was just so much fun. And honestly I think everyone should take a trip to just chill and do what you want.

I love those photos too. Silvermist is so sweet. I have been to Pixie Hollow twice and both times the Silvermist was a delight. And I thought Vidia was great and in character.

Duffy is a great prop to take around the park. The CM's all know him and he is welcomed wherever he goes.

Oh and it's great to see you!!

I love the whole package of IASW. From the topiaries, the clock with the dolls that come out every 15 minutes, to the inside. Especially with the addition of different Disney characters to it.

Oh yes, that should be fun!! And 80's hair!!:rotfl:

We hopped the train by the Princesses and headed towards New Orleans Square. We had hoped that if we signed in early we might get in earlier. It was getting chilly. Now one thing I do not understand is the fact that they do not have the outdoor heaters at Cafe Orleans. We had a great meal. I fail at food porn I really do. I can tell you that we had Pommes Frites, we shared an order. We both had Monte Cristo's, oh my they are good. Thankfully they come with grapes, it was a good thing for me because it is greasy. I needed the fruit. We were going to hang out around the park but it was too chilly by the time we finished eating. I did manage to get one picture of Duffy before we left the park.

I had to get the staircase pose.

We walked over to the train station and waited for the train to take us back to Tomorrowland to get the ride back for our last night at the hotel.

The Matterhorn from the train in Tomorrowland.

We debated going to Uva Bar for our nightly cocktail but we were too cold so we decided to go back to the DLH, go to get our purchases from the bell desk. To me that may be one of the best reasons to stay onsite. There is nothing nicer than not having to carry your purchases all day.

077-3.jpg

I needed a picture of Duffy with Mickey in the lobby of the DLH.

We wanted hot chocolate and the coffee shop was closed so we went over to Steakhouse 55 where the wonderful bartender made one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. We sat on a couch in the lobby while we drank our drinks. After we finished them it was time to hike back to our room. I wanted to get a few pictures of the room, and I figured this was the best time to do it.

Duffy on my bed.

The head board that I adore.

090-3.jpg

Adorable bathroom faucets.

091-3.jpg

The wonderful little soaps and such.

092-3.jpg

The bathroom light.

093-3.jpg

The tile in the shower. I loved this.

The bathroom wallpaper.

The carpeting in the room.

The twinsies!! At this point we had four Duffy's sharing our room. Mine, Peanut's, Stephanie's, and the one that Dina bought for her daughter. She bought the Buzz outfit for her daughter too so we decided to do the twins picture.

Now it was time to relax and sleep as this was our lastnight.:sad1:

I have a soft spot for twins, you know. :lovestruc

I'm sad we are closing in on the end of your trip... I hope you have a fun-filled day left to tell us about!

You know some how I guessed that you had a soft spot for twins.:goodvibes

I am too, but there will be other trips and I still have my stuff to show you too.:goodvibes

Thanks for more pics of your room

Love Mickey lamp in bathroom

sad almost over too, but have enjoyed reading it :wizard:

I want the faucet and the light.

I need to go back and look to see if I posted the pictures I took of the room the first day of the base of the lamp on the desk.

Whew.. Finally caught back up after not having my laptop and working for awhile.

I love all your duffy pics! I have thought about doing the same thing but the carrying him around I think would get old to me. I have finally consolidated what I carry down to a hip bag so I don't think I want to go back up to a bigger bag.

I LOVE :lovestruc your pics of the DL hotel.... I am considering onsite for my next trip and was looking at the PPH as it is cheaper but I love all the special touches in the DL hotel!

Hi there!! I was just on your trip report!!

Thank you. You know I need to post a picture of it but I got a really light backpack that I carried Duffy in. It was nothing.

The DLH was amazing. And the CM's there were amazing!!

Love that you got hot chocolate from the bar in Steakhouse 55 :) I have never eaten there. One of these days!

It is soooo expensive and it reminded me of a lounge in there. I am sure that the eating area is nice but the bar area is like just on the lobby right off of Goofy's. I felt that if I wanted to tie one on that would not be my choice of a location.:confused3

I know what you mean. If I was going to do a fancy/$ dinner Napa Rose would be my first choice. DH and I have eaten apps/drank wine in the lounge at the Napa Rose, I think one time DH got me a glass of wine from the bar at Steakhouse 55 - it wasn't super memorable :confused3 But I would like to try every place at DLR :goodvibes

I am really excited to check out the changes to the Hungry Bear. They are supposed to have changed their menu. One of the things that is new on their menu is a fried green tomato sandwich. I think maybe they are going for a more southern type of menu?

I love that they are working on dining at DLR. Other than the wide variety of on-property hotels, dining was the big area DLR lagged vs. WDW IMO.

In Feb we ate at the re-vamped Village Haus, a place I was NOT a fan of before. It was delicious :thumbsup2

MousePlanet posted a dining review of the Hungry Bear, it sound fabulous! And like the Village Haus, I was not a fan before ... loved the location, hated the food.

I love all the pics of the room -- faucet, lights, and that AWESOME headboard.

So I guess I don't have to ask whether you are glad you stayed on-site?!:rotfl2:

It sounds like you guys were really able to just relax and get in the Disney spirit. Love having souvenirs go back to the hotel -- so much easier.

That's really funny that you ended up with 4 Duffy's. I'm thinking we might have to get one for Elizabeth on our May trip.

Love that you guys got hot chocolate and chilled (or should I say "warmed"?) in the lounge.

What were the temperatures? I always picture sunny and hot southern California and forget that it gets chilly, too.

I am going to go read that now. I am excited in the food changes too.

I loved the music too. It only plays for a little while but it is still sweet. Another thing I love about staying onsite is the fact that you can watch the resort channels. Do they have the bedtime stories on the TV's in the resort hotels in WDW too?

I could have gotten away with not taking mine but I did because I wanted to get photos before we went to DCA on the second day. I have mine on my bed in his Buzz Lightyear outfit.

The high temperatures ranged in the low 60's. By the time Thursday rolled around it really started to get cold, and feel like a storm was brewing. We left just in time. The rains started the next day.
