Now It's Time To Say Goodbye
Geyser Point has been on my list of places to try and when Kiss asked if we could go this trip I couldn’t say no. This wasn’t my first time here, but it was my first time eating here. The last time I was here my parents ate there, we met up with them and it was super chilly with a breeze and rainy mist….but the fries were good.
Right away I knew this was going to be a great option if you are on the dining plan. Its a QS credit, you get a great selection of drinks and the food prices really max out the credit.
Now unlike many other QS locations, you can have the choice of walking up to the window and ordering or you can sit down and have a server come and take your order. With the second option you will actually get a table with comfy chairs while at the window they have a few picnic table seating area.
We opted for the “luxury” style and waited to be seated. When our server came over she went over what would could and couldn’t order with the dining plan and then she took our drink orders. This became a “oh my god I went to school there” moment as she checked our IDs. After checking mine we learned we were the same age, which led to her asking if I knew specific people from high school…and with going to a big high school I didn't know anyone she named off, but apparently she went to college with them.
So with drink orders we were ready to order our food.
Kiss went with a Bison burger and an Elysian Dragonstooth Stout
Then both Erin and I went with the chicken sandwich, she got the classic banana cabana and I went with the blueberry lemonade.
After lunch we of course had to actually go inside the lodge. Mostly for the smell…and the christmas decorations. And this is by far my favorite resort decorated for christmas, that log cabin feel with a huge christmas tree. 10 out of 10.
And who doesn’t love a good photo pass spot set up in front of the tree
We didn’t spend too much time in the lobby before catching a bus back to the kingdom. And while we were heading back to movies to catch the tragical express we were currently waiting for a MK bus with all the MVMCP goers.
We got to MK just to walk the bus loop to catch our bus back. Once getting back to Movies we still had quite some time to kill. Erin wanted to relax by the pool so we headed through the lobby. Now every day…night coming back from the parks we would always pass this sign….
And every time we passed it I would ask if she wanted to do it and every time it was a “no!”. Then by the last day I didn’t even need to bother to ask because she would just say “No Sam I don’t want to do yoga” So while I couldn’t get her into that yoga mood I somehow managed to talk her into running the Wine and Dine 10k with me and Brittany in November.
Erin headed to the pool, while Kiss and I headed over to the toy section of the resort because its clearly the best section.
We decided to head back to find Erin, and that point Alish and Justin arrived at the resort to switch last moment gifts.
We took the party into the food court to use our last snacks and I was ready to try the cookie dough everyone was raving about.
Things I need to learn is that when disney folks RAVE over snacks/food it will always a disappointment to me. This cookie dough was a mistake, it was super gritty and I don’t know why everyone was hyping it up so much. It was so bad that I couldn’t even pawn it off to anyone. Lesson learned…I should have went with the gingerbread milkshake.
After a sad ending snack we moved to the lobby where we hung out until the ME came to get us. Best part of the lobby this trip? Lin
Alish and Justin asked when we were coming down next….not till august. Wow what a long time. And as we said our goodbyes they added the “see you in august” when really they came home New Years day but my mother wanted it to be a secret. (It really wasn’t because she kept telling her to come home at that time so all Gma’s grand kids and great grand kids could all be together since my cousin from California came to visit)
We waited maybe 10 minutes and then the bus came to pick us up
And like that our trip was over…And while I love late night flights to have the whole day at the parks, this time it was rough. We didn’t land until 1 and Sam had the joy of opening at work at 6:30. I live to tell the tale and would still choose that late flight.
See Ya Real Soon! (Not soon enough!)
