Well, here are several more pictures of Sylvia that her SO, Dan, emailed
me this evening. They are all from the time Sylvia was ill, battling her
breast cancer and again help us better know this special lady.

I had a real nice, phone conversation with Dan this evening
also. I think it was quite comforting for both of us. We talked
about Sylvia, good times and bad times. It was therapeutic. Nick is
with his dad, Brad, who lives in the same city as Sylvia and Dan. Dan is
good friends with Brad and Nick is doing fine.

These are from the time Sylvia was sick, but you can always see her
smile. She ALWAYS smiled, ALWAYS.
Dan said that an additional benefit of these pictures might be that they may help others deal with their own or others who are fighting cancer, in seeing how Slyvia so graciously accepted her illness, and continued to smile. Thanks, Dan.

This was taken on Sylvia's last birthday, this past January, just 5 months
ago.

Ah, time to eat and share with friends. Pass the turkey,
please. This was from Christmas, 2000. Left to right, Dan's step mom,
Marie, a friend from Hamilton, Dan's brother, Mark, his fiancée, Melody, Dan,
Sylvia. (Sylvia was wearing a wig here)

Taken at the same time as picture on the other thread I put up. This
was just shortly after Sylvia's first chemo treatments in '98 and the first time
of her hair loss.

Taken about 1 year after diagnosis with Dan. Sylvia looks like she is
happy to have the worst behind her at that time.

Same as the above picture. When Sylvia was going to lose her hair,
she had Dan 'buzz' it off ahead of time. She went out later that day, and
when she returned, Dan had done the same to his hair, a symbol of his rock-solid
support.

This is Christmas of '98, with Nick. Sylvia felt comfortable with
her baldness, a necessary side effect of getting well she said.

The day Dan gave Sylvia her buzz, in anticipation of losing her hair.

And here with Nick and Dan.

What a strong lady!!!! Anyone see a frown? Always
smiling, that was Sylvia.

A beautiful woman... a lovely family. Thank you for sharing these with us.

Such a beautiful, beautiful person......Thanks for sharing these Dan (& Dan).

Always a smile...

That Dan is one incredible guy, when I got to the point that he shaved his head I collapsed in tears. Now, That is LOVE!

She was so blessed to have him. God sent her an angel to share her short time on this earth.

I'm so glad Nick is with his Dad. I understand he's always been there for him so he is a blessed child.

Thanks, Dan Murphy and Dan the Lamb, for sharing this with us!

Dan, thank you for posting these pictures of Sylvia. What a wonderful way to remember her.

Darn Dan M, now I'm crying again. How lucky Dan and Sylvia were to have each other. Her strength and spirit show through in each one of those smiles.

What a remarkable woman!! and what a beautiful family!
Thank you Dan for sharing this nice pictures, she truly was amazing!

What a beautiful smile. God bless her!!
Thanks to both Dans for sharing the pictures.

This wonderful woman bore all that she was given with such strength. It does come shining through in these pictures.

Dan S - thank you for sharing these with us. Your strength and the love that you and Sylvia shared is a beautiful thing to see.

Well these pictures have tears rolling down my face.

Thank you Dan (in Canada) for taking the time to dig them out and scan them and email them. Please accept our deepest condolences.

Thank you Dan (in Chicago) for posting these and for everything else that you do.

I'm so happy to hear that Nick is doing well. I'm glad he's surrounded by people who love him.
Thanks for the pictures Dan - a wonderful tribute to a very beautiful yet strong woman.

Thanks for sharing again Dan. One thing my mom was comfortable with....losing her hair. I don't know if anyone knows how painful it is to lose your hair...but mom was a trooper through it as Sylvia seems to have been also. My mom had wonderful thick hair and it was tougher on me I think to see her lose it. But now it's back to almost the way it was!!! I like Sylvia with short hair...it fits her warm personality she had!!!

This was one brave sister. God love her and keep her always.
