You're reading way too much into posters' intents. Responding, "No, but your party is welcome to join you behind us/all those people you just bypassed", or "thank you for asking, but I must decline", or even just "No", involves no physical contact whatsoever. Neither does, for example, joining hands with other members of one's party and standing from railing to railing. It's the person who entered the line later than the rest of their own group and tries to catch up with them who would have to be doing the pushing.

Or just go to the other side if said railing

It seems that the majority feel it is okay to leave the line with a small child to go to the bathroom, and then rejoin their family. What about a single parent with a child? How do they rejoin the line? Or do they have to go to the back of the line because they do not a party holding a spot for them?

They could simply ask the person immediately before or after them in line. That's what we did in elementary school.

You've mentioned that several times. There aren't a whole lot of attractions where this is possible.

This is possible in most all the queues; not the entire queue, obviously, but large sections of most queues.

I'm not a single parent but I do tour the parks often alone. What I did was tell a CM as we exited the queue (I'm not sure who said there isn't always one around that is just another excuse to defend their bad behavior of pushing back into line) they have ALWAYS given us a FP to return to the ride afterwards.

It is the most reasonable thing for anyone to do when they need to leave the line. Of course if you just want to leave the line because little Sally doesn't like to stand in long lines and you want to go do something else you would need to lie - but it has been my experience reading these boards that people also have no problem doing that either.

I never thought about that. It seems like a good policy. Much better than pushing your way back through the line. Maybe those of you, that feel you just have to be made whole, could use the fp line. We know every ride does not have one, but most with long lines do.

We frequently use fast pass runners (usually me) but never have the rest of us jump in line. Often I'll run to another attraction (say BTMRR or Splash M) to get a FP while group heads to a less crowded or faster moving standby (say HM or Pirates OTC) where I'll meet them before getting in line.

I love how every so often, someone simply answers the ops question.

This made me bust out laughing because OP was satisfied on page two and has since made 1 appearance to apologize for starting the thread in the first place. :lmao:

Threads often go on after the OP has left the building, so to speak. Many people gain info from the threads besides the OP. Not sure what anyone is gaining from this one anymore, other than most of us see things one way or the other, and are not about to change our minds.:upsidedow

:thumbsup2 Very true! On the other hand, I love discussion/debates and there have been some posts that are contrary to my opinion that have at least made me think about my stance on the line cutting issue.

In other news, this baby has lost it's steam and will soon be dead all without the intervention of the mods. I say it's a successful thread for that alone. :lmao:

I think Disney's policy is no line cutting but the debate is what qualifies as line cutting

I have never seen Disney, react to "a line cutter". NEVER, so I wondered what the actual policy is.....

Not sure there is an official policy, there are probably guidelines that have CMs react on an as needed basis.

I did see a CM send a line jumper to the end of the line when getting wristbands for a Halloween party, everyone in line applauded. :lmao:

I was told by someone I know that they saw Disney escort a group backstage that had been pushing their way through multiple queue lines. I didn't see it first hand, though. I suspect you have to be really egregious about it for Disney to do something.

We've seen it at DL on Splash Mountain. When the cutters got to the front of the line, the CM walked them to the end of the line.
