RSVP Niagara Falls Meet, Sat. Nov. 23

Hi everyone. I hope you all have a great meet this weekend. My DD has a hockey tournament in Stratford, or I would try to join you. Take care, Sherry

HI all! Well we are leaving as soon as dh gets home. He says he has some running around to do before he comes home. I also don't see this bag packed so he'll have to throw a few things in a bag. Funny how I spent days pouring over lists and hours with laundry, ironing, packing and cleaning and he'll throw three pairs of underwear, socks and a couple pairs of jeans and shirts in a duffle bag and he's done! I wonder if it ever occurs to him where the Tylenol and nail clippers come from at the hotel rooms. dd is better, on antibiotics, I went to dr. this morning, feeling a little lumpy. Better now too. SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW! Bring your camcorders! Chat soon! S

:( :( :( :( :(

Arrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh. The last couple of days have been a disaster...Marylynn has shingles:( :( and she is not feeling very good...one of our cats was attacked by a fisher ( a relative of the weasel) and is in the vet hospital... it doesn't look positive and we have to check in tomorrow to see if she is improving...we cancelled our hotel reservation and it is VERY doubtful that we will make it to NF :( :( :( ...our whole family is terribly disappointed, but there is not much we can do...we were sooooo looking forward to going.
I hope everyone has a good time and we will definitely make it to the NF show next year.

kathe:D

Sorry not everyone can make it. Dave, what rotten luck! Hope everything improves quickly! It looks like it will be just Rudy and I as the boys don't want to go. I think we will stay over if we can still find a room at short notice and the kids can have their first experience of staying home alone ~ I guess we've finally reached that stage with them! It will be good practice for them if they choose to stay home in March. We'll look for everyone at the cafeteria around 4pm.

Hope u all have a great time, visiting, my neck of the woods. No snow here, sunny but cold. Enjoy, and keep warm

I hope you all have a wonderful time:sunny: And yes the sun is shining but dress warm as there is a chill in the air......just perfect for Mickey and pals!;)

JUst arrived home from the mini meet in NF. Glad I met them at meet in Mississauga back in September. At least I Knew what they looked like,. TimNDansMom and DH, Disneykins and DH DD DS, SandraC and DH DD DS were present at the meet. I got there arround 4:30 and we stateyed at the caffateria for about half hour before we moved over to the park for the opening speaches, fireworks and the Disney show. I have seen the Festivial of Lignts before that this the first time I was there on opening night to see the Disney show. MIckey Magical Surprise show was quite good. I want to go to WDW. It got me into the Xmas spirt. I think I we be putting up my decorations tomorrow. After the show I got sepaaraated from the group. However by luck we met up on Cliffton Hill. We all went to dinner. Sandra took a group photo. Hope it turns out and be able to post it

Sounds like a great time! I wish I did not live so far from NF, I would of loved to gone. Maybe for the summer meet!

We are back too!

We got to NF just after 6pm on Friday. In time for a snow fall! The highway signs were covered, but dh can do the drive blind folded, so we were okay.

Got to our regular hotel to see that the room wasn't what I asked for, not only that, the toilet did not work. I went to the front desk and they upgraded us to a two room suites with a fireplace! NICE NICE NICE! It was so big, I kept losing my kids! The bedroom was huge and beautiful and the living room was very comfy ~ the fireplace was a lovely touch on a snowy and windy night.

The next morning we went to the Sheridan for the Disney character breakfast. It was great as usual.

We went to the Hershey Store, the new Mid Way and of course to the Falls!

Back to the hotel for an afternoon of swimming and playing.

We met up with the DISer's at the cafe just after 4pm. THANK YOU Debbie and family for the glasses and candy! I wore the glasses all the way back to the hotel. It was great to see Mike again. We met Julie's hubby too ~ great to see you again Julie!

We went over to the Disney Show. It was mucky (they covered the mud with straw this morning). The fireworks and Disney music were up there with MK fireworks! The Disney Show was sweet! Turning on the lights was a blast!

We all lost each other after the show. I got stuck in the mud. We met up on the path and on Clifton Hill. We had dinner together and chatted Disney! My kids were getting tired so we left.

Back to the hotel. dh and dd had a swim while I got ds to sleep (only took 4 seconds LOL). Great sleep. dh and dd had one more swim in the morning. We took our time driving home ~ went to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Port Dalhousie before coming home.

Doing laundry now!

THANKS ALL! Debbie and I were talking about meeting at Square One food court ~ near the Disney Store. A couple to few weeks after Cmas is dead in the mall. Maybe we can meet! I am game for a RFC meet too in the yucky winter months! Let's chat! THANKS! S

For those who went to Niagara Falls, how was it? :p I'll eventually make it out to a DIS meet once my work schedule improves.

Hi! We got back about 4p.m. after having a great meet in NF> The only downside we had was a breakfast that was $48.00 and only the children ate, while we had coffee. Don't ever go to Denny's near Clifton Hill. We went to Canada One mall and saw a Denny's with a breakfast for 3.99!!!!!!!!!But other than that, we had a great time.

Forget to mention we met up with Scratch and her DD at Rainforest after dinner Saturday night. We did the Wrestling store for DS and went to RF just to shop and saw someone with Santa Mickey hat. I guess she got to the meet about 5:15 and we'd already headed over to the fireworks. Chatted for 10 minutes in the store and then they went in for dinner. Hope to meet up with them again at another dismeet. Great to finally meet Julies DH and to see Sandra and gang again. Nice to see you too, Mike. Hope everybody had safe trips home.
Tony and Debbie

Hi ~ DENNY BREAKKY! We did that last year. We have a nice little breakfast restaurant that we love ~ it's with the Falls Manor Hotel. Excellent Belgium waffles. It's so cute. The waitess must read minds because you pretty much get your meal as you sit down. Last year, we did the whole Disney NF weekend with friends. They REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted Denny's for breakky. They said they saw a sign for $1.99 kids meals. We went. The Belgium Waffle was $11.00! I had toast! We won't do that again. Sorry we missed Janet. Chat soon S

Despite the mud, snow, and $48 breakfast (ouch!), it sounds like you all had a fun time. :)

Very cool on the room upgrade Sandra, sounds rather romantic! ;) :)

OMG, Tony and Debbie, I am in stitches here just reading about Denny's. We had the same experience at the Denny's across from the Best Western Fallsview, this morning. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! We had already checked out the very simple buffet breakfast the hotel offered at $7.25 plus beverage and thought THAT was over-priced and we should have just got up and left when we saw the prices at Denny's! It would have been a "deal" at the hotel by comparison! But we didn't want to run around all morning looking for a place to eat. Rudy's breakfast was around $14.99, mine was $11.99 (I think it was the cheapest breakfast plate on the menu), coffee and tea was over $3.00 each! Our bill with tip came to $42.00! Another family of 5 adults came in and sat down and took one look at the prices and got up and left. Rudy and I figured it would probably have cost them $100.00!!! Sandra, I wish we had mentioned that there was a Denny's across the road from our hotel, then we would have known about their high prices in the Falls and not even bothered even going over.

After we arrived and checked into the BW, (it was a perfect location), Rudy and I just walked down the street to the Falls and over to the Table Rock Restaurant where we had lunch at a table over-looking the Horseshoe Falls. We saw Mickey and Minnie downstairs in the gift shop area, posing for pictures with kids. Rudy thought I should go up and give Mickey a big hug but I had forgotten my camera, so didn't go. As we were walking back towards the Queen Victoria Cafeteria, we saw some people coming towards us wearing antlers. I did a "double take" and realized it was Tony and Debbie and kids! They headed off to Table Rock and we met back up with them a little later at the cafeteria as well as Sandra and her family and Mike.

On Saturday night, after we said goodbye to Sandra and her family ~ I'm so glad you and Emily were feeling better and were able to join us for everything ~ and left Tony, Debbie and kids at the wrestling store, Rudy and I walked over to the Casino with Mike where he went on to get his car and drive home. I haven't been to the Clifton Hill area in decades so this was all new to me. We walked as far as Planet Hollywood (that's quite impressive!) and then back to the Casino to look around and watch everyone playing the slot machines etc. I tried putting a quarter in a machine and it kept falling straight through until we realized that you had to buy tokens. I didn't want to be bothered so we left and then wandered through the Hershey, Coca Cola and the RCMP stores under the Brock Plaza Hotel. Luckily, there was also a Starbuck's there so we got coffee and a chai latté and went upstairs to the Brock's lounge and sat in comfy chairs and listened to the grand "player" piano. I phoned the kids from there and they were doing fine at home so I could relax and enjoy the atmosphere. It was a perfect end to a fun day! We then walked back up Clifton Hill and it was a short walk back over to the BW.

Today, after we checked out, we drove along the Niagara Parkway, stopping to check out the new Legends Golf Course, which was closed for the season, (gorgeous clubhouse, though), and then continued on to my parent's. I love that drive along the river! We visited for a couple of hours before heading over to the US. Rudy wanted to check out a golf store, but it was no longer there. His real mission was, however, to go to his favourite pizza and wings place, Sammy's in Niagara Falls, NY. We brought back left-overs for the kids, to their delight!. We had our Passports in hand "just in case" we decided to go over the border and were asked to see them. We were also asked if this was OUR car, which it was, maybe in case someone was trying to sneak something across the border??

It was a fun weekend, the boys were fine on their own at home and it was great to see everyone again. Rudy even had a good time with all us Disney nuts! I'm so sorry we "just" missed you at the cafeteria, Janet, but glad at least you ran into Tony and Debbie and their kids. What luck that the Arby's that we had originally planned to go to was gone so we went farther up Clifton Hill and found Mike again! Hope everyone got home safely and everyone who couldn't come will be able to make the next meet!

Should have taken my own advice, Never have your car worked on just before a road trip!

Had to put on two new tires due to the weather, well I guess they didn't like the weather.

Made it to NF on friday just before nine. Settled in at the Radisson. Went out for a quick bite and libiation for me! Seems my sense of direction is getting worse the older I get! As Sandra said, the signs were snow covered and I had no idea where to go! But as I said we made it!

Got up the next morning, went to Cippy's on Stanley, Highly recommend. A little family restaurant where the food was tremendous and only $9.00 for the both of us.
Glad we didn't go to Denny's!LOL And I thought $9.00 was pricey!LOL Shuffled over to Buffalo to catch the movie and after started some shopping. Spent a good hour at the Disney Store! Not like previous years though. Hit a few others when low and behold I have a flat tire! Panicked then head to the local gas station and filled it up and headed back to US NF. Stopped at the Outlet Mall grabbed lunch for DD at around 2:30 then next thing we know it's 4:00. Went back to car and prayed it still held. It did! But by the time we got over and changed it was after 5:00. Headed straight for the show and as you guys know, very crowed! Sorry did not get to meet but did meet up with Debbie and Tony at the RF by chance. We didn't stay for whole show 'cause DD refused to wear her boots and she was getting cold. She wanted to go up the Skylon, which we did. Then figured we would head over to the RF and catch up with the gang! Well by the time we got there it was after 8:00 (did some musuems and shops) Figured we would catch on the way out. Very crowded but figured we would stay. Next thing I know I see someone with the same Mickey Santa Hat. Commented that I liked it and then was asked if I was Scratch!LOL Low and behold it was Disneykins! Chatted until we were called for dinner.
At least met up with a couple of you guys! Next meet at Square One is a good one 'cause if I have car trouble who cares I can take the bus!LOL

The Character Breafast was Fabulous! Had the Gang sign DD's Mickey Hat as a souvenir!

After that got the car and guess what, another flat!
Filled her up and headed out slowly.

All in all a fun weekend!
Car is back in shop to figure out what's going on!
DD thinks it was the Ghost that occupied our room!LOL
But that another story for another time!

Scratch
:smooth:

PS Happy Belated Birthday Sandra!

Sounds like we missed another great meet. :( I'm glad that all of you that made it had such a wonderful time!

Dave, I'm so sorry to hear about Marylynn having shingles. My Dad had them once and they were very painful. About the only thing that helped him was when Mom opened up vitamin E capsules and spread the oil over the shingles. I hope that she feels better soon. This time of year in your line is bad enough without adding shingles! I also hope that things are okay with your cat. I've heard that fishers are very ferocious.
