6:32 ... The smart money is betting on a 7 a.m. open at the tapstiles. The 2 zillion people we're standing with are not amused. We've been here since 5:15 or so.

I’ve been reading this thread daily to prep for my January trip

Same- my girlfriend agreed to wake up at 5am and be at the park by 6am. That morning, park opening is scheduled for 8am. We have dinner at California Grill at 6pm, so we need an early boarding group. Fingers crossed.

5:45 approx was when tapstile lines in my area reached ticket booths

Lots of CMs roaming lines, checking tickets and answering questions, telling jokes

Tapped in at 6:41

How far into the park do you need to be standing for the app to start working?
Is there a problem with people stopping as soon as they tap in blocking the people behind them?

We got BG 14 and 16. My daughter had issues and couldn’t get her finger scan to register. Then we waited and she never did show up as in the park. The guest experience cm would not help us and turned us away twice. Finally we found one that helped us and he told us we had boarding group 14. We walked away happy but on our way to try to ride I noticed he had only put my daughter in the group so I had to join a different one for the rest of us. It was kind of frustrating

Edited to add: we were super happy and felt lucky that we got the boarding groups we got. My daughter was also yelled at by the CM working at the tapstyle. The CMs must be feeling the stress of this opening I’m sure but I was surprised that there was so much animosity already so early in the morning.

Arrived on property 6:05. In line 6:10. Scanned in 6:46. BG 25. I'm happy with that.

Biggest tip: stay to the right, right, right. There are a full extra set of tap styles on the right so any one past the ticket booth gets 2x the tap styles for the same people.
