Last week I had a CM say I was required to also show a photo ID along with my Google Wallet that I opened live and showed her DVC-Y. She claimed it was the policy, but that was my final purchase over four days, and it was the only one that ever claimed that. I didn't have my wallet on me (paying with my magicband...) so she said she'd let it slide. Come on...
It really depends on the CM you get. I had a CM ask me to show my pass in order to get a discount on the popcorn on Main Street this past weekend and then when I showed it to her in my Apple wallet, she then asked me to pull it up in the MDE app to show the expiration date. And then I told her it also said DVC in there, would I have to do the same if I had said I have DVC instead of the AP to which she replied no. But I've never had another CM ask me to show them the expiration date of my pass in MDE.

In another instance I had a CM tell me I had to show them the expiration date of my DVC and I was like.. you mean in 2070..? You know that none of the resorts end until 2042 and she gave me a bunch of attitude for not being able to pull it up. Immediately after I realized she was talking about the temporary card you can print out that lasts for 1 month that hardly anyone ever actually uses. I really should've contacted a manager to complain but I didn't want to cause a fuss over some stupid 10% discount and cause someone to be reprimanded even though she probably deserved it but it wasn't exactly what I wanted to do on my vacation.

Anyways, all this to say it seems the training is inconsistent but also I can't fault the cast members entirely. They make these things unnecessarily complex on them. Instead of it saying DVC-Y or DVC-N. It should've just said DVC or BLUE to indicate membership benefits and have nothing listed in the affiliation/group if they don't qualify.

Not to be insensitive, but...finally one shows up here so we can see the details!
Thanks for posting
The repeated focus on VGF suggests that DVD is now focused on its frontline properties, using buy-backs to fund the recently promoted properties, which is different than how ROFR was used years ago. I would suspect that most everyone is fine with their low-cost BLT and SSR contracts.

Do you have plans to track the effective/adjusted price (counting for stripped/loaded) points that get ROFR’d? At first blush $140 seems somewhat low but with barely any points until 2025, I don’t think it was a particularly great deal.

I’m wondering if it might be possible to “beat” ROFR by buying loaded contracts at slightly higher prices. I’ve only become a resale buyer since after ROFR went on hiatus, so no idea how loaded/stripped were considered for historical trends.

The thing is, my normalizing function doesn't do any better job than the price at explaining when a contract is taken. You can see this in the historical charts on the https://www.dvcrofr.com/pricing-trends page where the normalized chart doesn't clearly show taken contracts that are lower in value than the others around them that weren't taken.

That suggests my normalization function is not a good predictor of what triggers a contract to be taken. Which is ok, it's meant to normalize contracts on the basis of financial value. Disney has priorities we aren't privy to and that aren't accounted for in normalizing from the financial perspective of DVC owners.

When ROFR becomes relevant again I'll take a stab at a predictive model for the probability of a contract being taken. For that I will feed in all the data I can.

Just ranting - and I know some of you have good Guides, but so far Every Single Time that I've tried to buy Direct, I get put on long holds, and hit paperwork hassles at DVC (and that's as a Cash Buyer)! And every question I have, they put me on hold to go ask someone else (that does Not make me comfortable with their answers). Maybe I get connected to the newbie "Guide/Salesmen" or Guides who are too busy for new (small contract) clients, but it has been super frustrating. I came close to hanging up on my guy today - Zero magic involved in dealing with Disney for a DVC purchase anymore.

That should at least make those of you sitting in ROFR feel better ...
I hear ya. We toured RIV last month. My guide was at AKL that day so we had another guide. Thanks to the knowledgeable members here, I knew more than her. Example- the non-guide at the BLT kiosk who arranged for the tour told me they only had 2 BR lock-offs for viewing. It clearly was a lock-off yet the guide kept politely arguing with me that it was a dedicated 2BR.
