Rivers of Light Dessert Party - Begins 8/11/18

I have booked HEA party, JBJB party and the FEA party. I cannot bring myself to pay the price for this ROL party. No seats and no tier 1 ride is a no go for me. If they add seats and FOP I'll be purchasing, but until then I'll skip this one.
Well you do sit for the show itself just not while eating desserts.

I wouldn’t pay for this either though.

I agree the party needs some sort of add-on, and although FOP is one of my favorite rides, I'd also be super happy to have an exclusive after park ride on Everest. If they add something, I could be persuaded to give this a try. For now, we've decided not to book this for our next trip.

The down side of adding seating is that it reduces the size of the parties substantially. Adding FoP also adds a long walk from RoL to Pandora.
I'm good with all of that :-) even though I'm sure the event planners would think differently lol.

We booked the ROL dining package for breakfast at Tusker House for our upcoming trip. For our family, a character breakfast at TH definitely seems like a better value than this dessert party (especially since we’ll be doing a HEA dessert party earlier in our trip).

My only concern now is that they’ve moved the area designated for dining packages to accommodate the dessert party guests. Can anyone confirm if the dining package location has stayed the same?

The Dining Package seating area hasn’t changed at all.

Dessert Party guests sit at the front of the FP seating area if they choose to do so.

Just went last night and had a great time in spite of the heat and rain.

They set us up at Flame Tree because of predicted weather. Only glitch was there was no way for them to let us know, so I walked over to the check-in area and was directed to go back to Flame Tree. (I just looked at it as earning those desserts!)

I got there and checked in and made sure they had notated gluten-free. They had, and I was escorted to the food and shown what was safe (fruit and cheese for sure, the PannaCotta if not for the granola (he was unsure if the granola was). BUT they had gf brownies, a chocolate cake push pop (this was yummy!!! - not the tiger tail, but the same idea, just all chocolate!!), a lemon cake-type thing, frozen fruit popsicles, and Mickey bars! And they were constantly checking on me to see what my thoughts were, if I needed anything, etc. The food was infinitely better than the HEA stuff IMHO.

I had the Tiger Lily drink which was delicious!!

It did start pouring, but we had shelter to hang out in. It lightened up, and they handed out Disney ponchos, and just before pre-show time we were escorted to our seating area. We could take drinks and/or food with us. And we were encouraged to go back after the show (a lot of us did for water and to let the crowd thin out).

I was quite happy with my experience and would do it again in a heartbeat! I love the quiet peacefulness of ROL.

I attended this last night (9/29) with my mom. The event was really nice. We thought the desserts were beautifully presented, and we both enjoyed what we sampled. My favorites was the green tea cake and she loved the tiger pop. We also tried both alcolholic beverages and liked them. Every cast member we encountered was exceptional. The young woman who showed us in was from New Zealand and was really helpful. We also really enjoyed the show.

We’re from the west coast and were really struggling with the heat and humidity so we didn’t eat as much as we normally would, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this event.

Does anyone want to guess if this might be offered end of March? We maybe are planning a short trip then and would like to do this. Right now there are dates through most of February, but the last week of that month is grey and nothing after. Just looking for some speculation, I guess.

was wondering if this party / event will change or is better since the revamping of rol actual show?
