Ah ha! Yes, very familiar with the event, but I guess I've not seen it abbreviated like that very often.Oh, the Star Wars: Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party. It was fabulous!
Yep. This is still working better than Hagrid’s where you can wait in line during a break down for 2.75 hours and if you leave you will get no guest recovery. For those who think the ride should be shut down entirely until it's more reliable--keep in mind that actual experience and effects of large numbers of people, day after day, hour after hour, doing RotR can't be duplicated by testing or theoreticals. I'm hardly an expert in this (I don't work at WDW and am not a theme park specialist!) but it seems to me that anything like this ride, which has multiple elements, has to be "tested" in actual use before all the problems can even come to the fore. If you haven't been on RotR, you don't realize how many various, different elements are involved and I'm not going to go into that here on a no-spoilers thread.
What I'm trying to say is that RotR involves several complex systems that need to be put to actual use day after day in order for WDW to figure out how to keep everything running as smoothly as possible as much of the time as possible while the ride is in actual use.
So, be a little patient. And here's another vote for the current BG system. I think it's working out as well or better than any other system they could've implemented.
Did they give you 1 or 2 hours to return?Thank you to everyone on this board! Left Caribbean Beach in Uber about 6:00. Got to Hollywood in about 10 minutes. At 7:00 and like one nano second I started the process and got boarding group 5!!!!!!
Did anyone see when backups ran out?
Exact same experience for me this morning practicing from home.

They are holding them by the respective lands...they are letting people past the theatre. Can anyone tell me where they are holding crowds at DHS before opening? I've heard people mention the Galaxy's Edge crowd or TSL crowd but are people by the Theater or further in towards the lands? We are going in a couple weeks with 4 adults and one baby. I was thinking if the bag check lines look insane I'll wait in bag check with the baby and have everyone else head in (we'll just have a diaper bag). Hoping we can get at least 3 people with BGs, I don't think my Mom really cares if she rides ROTR or not so we can just switch bands when our time is called but I wasn't sure where the best place would be to meet up with them. I think we will be heading to TSL first thing.
Also does anyone have experience with Rider Switch at ROTR? Is the second group still being allowed to enter through a FP line? If we all get BGs we'd all like to ride but hoping it doesn't take half the day to swap the baby around.
Boarding group called about 7:10/7:15 and we went immediately to ride. We are about at the half way point and it’s down. (I think it’s the half way point, I haven’t ridden before). They say they are hoping it’ll be back up soon.Did they give you 1 or 2 hours to return?
I saw someone on Facebook this morning had a very low bg # and was given just one hour to return.Did they give you 1 or 2 hours to return?
We are group 25. Is it still broken down?Boarding group called about 7:10/7:15 and we went immediately to ride. We are about at the half way point and it’s down. (I think it’s the half way point, I haven’t ridden before). They say they are hoping it’ll be back up soon.
