Question about Mummy refurbishment

Universlal’s site says Revenge of the Mummy is closing 1/7 for refurbishment. Does anyone know if this means it will be closed after 1/6 or that it is closing after park close 1/7? Asking because it looks like waits are pretty long there (probably due to upcoming refurb) and we will have Express Passes 1/7, but not 1/6. Thanks!

Good luck! I’ve had hit or miss luck with Single Rider there but often it’s a good option. If you can make it there first thing in the morning, you can probably get a couple rides in (unless they go Virtual Queue).

Rix Flix mentioned a rumour in one of his YouTube blogs last week that it could be back by 4th July, but he hasn't been able to substantiate that at all.

We are at Universal July 18-27, so here's hoping that is accurate, as we've never done The Mummy, and not likely to ever be coming back to Florida again.

The reasoning for the rumor comes down to reports that staff were being called back for training at the end of June, so speculation is with them coming to train then Universal might be trying to open it for the July 4 crowds. Seems like extremely ahead of schedule though if it was set as late summer and would then be opening early summer so not sure how accurate this will be. For your sake, hopefully it will be open for your trip though.

What do Universal class as summer? Jun/Jul/Aug? Is September considered summer. Coming from UK for 3-27 Aug and really hoping this will open.

Kids are still in school in most of the country through mid-to-late June, and return in September after Labor Day.

So, Americans generally refer to summer as from July 1 - Labor Day. (First Monday in September is Labor Day). But, technically, summer is June 22-Sept 23.

I'd say more considered Memorial Day to Labor Day essentially. Many schools get out start of June as well and then return end of July, while others get out a little later and return later as you mentioned. So it's staggered a bit between districts.
But as stated with Summer officially ending September 23, end of summer for the park could mean either end of unofficial summer with late August, or end of actual summer with late September.

In the northeast, kids end school around June 20 and start school around September 7. And it's not really warm by Memorial Day. It gets really hot (meaning 85 degrees) starting in late June/early July.

I guess it's where you live that depends on when summer is. In Florida, summer is pretty much March - October. :)
